Deepika visits Satyajit Ray's house

Deepika Padukone is currently shooting in Kolkata for her upcoming film Piku.

The ace actor is mesmerized by the city and the old time charm it yet holds. Whenever she gets the time, she goes around exploring the city.

She has even been interacting with locals there to know more about the city.

Recently while she was shooting, a crew member shared with her how Satyajit Ray’s house is close by.

Deepika was keen to go visit the house of the renowned and skilled filmmaker and so she decided to go check it out.

Deepika a few years back got her own house in Mumbai and has closely looked into the making and interiors of her house. 

According to Deepika, a house is a place which channelizes your energies and she was keen to see the place where he stayed. 

Deepika visited his house and even though she could not go inside she spent some time in the premise.

She was there for 15 -20 minutes and clicked a few pictures there.

The houses are very different and she quite liked the vibe of the house.
 
Deepika’s spokesperson confirms and shares “Deepika is shooting in Kolkata and visited Satyajit Ray’s house. Even though she did not get a chance to visit inside she was glad to see the premise.”

Right from Highway to 2 States to Heropanti to the record breaking film Kick, the numbers have benefited the theater owners as well in a big way owing to huge footfalls.

So, the owner of a very popular and old theater in Jaipur, Raj Mandir has invited Sajid Nadiadwala to their city.
They want to personally meet the producer and felicitate him for the year that has been for them.

Sajid Nadiadwala was very surprised and at the same time overwhelmed to have received this call.

Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment has been contributing to the Indian Cinema in a big way since decades now. The production house will now be entering the 60th year of its operations.

Deepika sends Calcutta sweets back home....

Deepika Padukone is currently shooting in Kolkata for her upcoming film Piku, along side Amitabh Bachchan and Irfan Khan.

The ace actress has been in the city for a while and has been exploring the cuisine and delicacies which Kolkata is known for. 

One of the crew members recommended Deepika to have Sandesh from a sweet shop and also went ahead and ordered one on set.

The actress loved the Sandesh which was made of jaggery and milk. She loved the sweet and shared it with her team members.

She also was keen to send back a box home to Bangalore.

Sandesh needs to be consumed within 24 hours, so she sent someone for her team to deliver the Sandesh home.

Huma Qureshi is against wastage of food

While Huma Qureshi has set up her own house here in Bombay, she often has get togethers and parties at home with friends. We hear that get togethers in her house are the best and people usually come over for dinner as the food in her house is much sought after.

In such cases, there is a lot of food that is called for as good hosts make sure there is always more than enough food for their guests.

However, Huma Qureshi makes sure she makes all arrangements of leftover food.

The outlets may be different each time but she makes sure it does not get wasted.

Recently when she had a get together at home, she had called a group of youngsters who look into making this food reach the needy.

When the quantum of food is less, she gives it to the security of her building.

When contacted Huma Qureshi, she shares, “We all have get-togethers at home on occasions and I am sure everyone feels the pinch of all the extra food getting wasted. But not everyone can do much about it, that late in the night. So, now I make sure that the arrangement for the leftover food is done prior to the party.”

Vishal Bhardwaj and Gulzar saab’s musical gift to National Children’s Film Festival of India

Support keeps pouring in from Bollywood for the unique and progressive initiative by Children’s Film Festival of India (CFSI) - National Children’s Film Festival (NCFF). Many industry heavyweights like Amitabh Bachchcan, Sonakshi Sinha, Ajay Devgn, Subhash Ghai  and Satish kaushik have already played their part by voicing their support towards the development of cinema for children in India.  Latest addition to this long list of well wishers and supporters are Music Composer and Director Vishal Bhardwaj and Legendary lyricist Gulzar Saab.

Vishal Ji and Gulzar Saab have been associated with children’s film and content for a while now with films like Makdee. Acknowledging CFSI’s well rounded efforts over the years towards the development of children centric cinema, the duo joined decided to extend support. Upon hearing the various initiatives and the launch of NCFF, they decided to create a fun peppy track for CFSI and the children. 

Speaking on the subject, CEO,CFSI, Dr .Shravan Kumar said, “It is an honour to have veterans like Vishal ji and Gulzar Sahab on board and creating something marvelous for CFSI. The track created by Vishalji is a very peppy number and instantly infuses energy not only kids but everyone who hears it. I hope that CFSI’s association with Vishalji and Gulzar Saab extends further as we would like to work together and create good music and cinema together. The song was created for CFSI as a whole but what better platform to launch it other than the Festival itself ?”

The festival kicked off in Delhi today and will be attended by celebrities like Sania Mirza, Jimmy Shergill, Dia Mirza, Sakshi Tanwar and many others, all of whom have come out to fuel the growth of children’s content with strong Indian flavours.  The Festival will last from 14 – 16 November 2014.

Dibakar Banerjee speaks out about Swastika's stealing controversy​

Swastika Mukherjee, who plays an ultra glamorous spy in Dibakar Banerjee’s next, Detective Byomkesh Bakshy, was recently accused of shoplifting in Singapore.

Swastika was the only actress in the 35 people contingent that traveled to Singapore to attend the Darpan Film Festival which celebrates best of Bengali cinema.

She explored the place and then went to a boutique later, where she was accused of stealing the earrings.

While people are worried about the film, director Dibakar Banerjee does not feel that the controversy will mar the prospects of his film.

He is confident about Detective Byomkesh Bakshy and is in fact worried about Swastika’s reputation. He feels it is a very unfortunate incident and is concerned about the actress.

Dibakar Banerjee says, “I don’t think anything can go against the film. So I don’t think we should think about that. Rather, we should worry about the incident and the reputation of the actor. This incident is unfortunate and I hope it gets resolved amicably as soon as possible.”

​इस राइटर का कहना है की तक़रीबन एक साल पहले यह स्क्रिप्ट कुणाल कोहली को सुनाई थी ​लेकिन इस के कोई पुख्ता सबूत कोई नहीं है जो बात उन्होंने कही है। 

इस सब पर कुणाल कोहली ने यह सफाई दी है " जो भी आरोप लगे है वे सभी बेबुनियाद है यह शायद पैसा मांगने के लिए या सस्ती पब्लिसिटी पाने के लिए किया जा रहा है। आप किसी इंसान से एक बार मिलते है इसका मतलब यह नहीं होता की आप उनकी स्क्रिप्ट ले लेते हो। में पहले से ही सुखमनी सदन के साथ स्क्रिप्ट पर काम कर रहा था जब ज्योति से मुलाकात हुई। यह बहुत गकट बात है की एक बार किसीसे मिलने पर स्क्रिप्ट लेने का आरोप लगे। ऐसे फ्रॉड केस निर्माताओ और निर्देशकों नए टैलेंट  का मनोबल गिराते है।  में इस मसले में पूरी तरह निपटाने के लिए सहयोग करूँगा तथा कुछ भी नहीं छुपाऊँगा।

​Kunal Kohli refutes Jyoti Kapoor's allegations.

The makers of Kunal Kohli and Jennifer Winget starrer Phir Se are miffed with Daawat-e-Ishq co-writer Jyoti Kapoor who claims that director-turned-actor Kunal Kohli has plagiarized her script.

While the writer has approached the Film Writers Association ( FWA) claiming that she narrated the script to  Kohli over a year ago, truth be told, the writers claims are false and baseless with no proof to back her malicious statements.

Putting all speculation to rest,clarifies Kunal Kohli, "The allegations are completing false and are made with vested interests - Whether this is an excuse to extort money or plain fame ,the accusations are completely baseless and harassing .Just meeting someone once doesn't mean you copied their script. I was already writing the script with Sukhmani Sadana when I met Jyoti. It's sad and wrong she would use one meeting to accuse me of plagiarism.Fraud cases like this discourage producer- directors from meeting new talent.I'm completely willing to cooperate with the authorities  and sort this out as I have nothing to hide".

Kunal Kohli makes his acting debut with “Phir Se”, having made his mark as director with films like Hum Tum and Fanaa. Presented by Bombay Film Company Ltd and produced by Shiv Kumar ,the film will be directed by Kunal Kohli and Ajay Bhuyan and is scheduled to release May 2015.​

Aamir Khan's sister and Reena Datta come together for their Art Exhibition.

Reena Datta and Aamir Khan’s sister, Farhat Datta along with two other renowned artists Lotika Talwar and Laxmi Honavar have organized for an exhibition of their paintings.

The event which is supposed to be held in Bandra from 20th November to 23rd November will showcase artworks which will bring out their unique voice and vision and giving expression to their individual paths of exploration.

The exhibition is very special for all of them and they have personally sent out invites to friends and family to be a part of this beautiful and vibrant outing.

The kind of paintings on display would be charcoal paintings and paintings with the medium of water colors, acrylics, pen and inks.

All four artists that have come together for this exhibition have the art of depicting interesting stories with their paintings each one’s vision being unique.

Roller coaster ride to Karachi

The first schedule of the much talked about movie Welcome 2 Karachi has wrapped up in London. The story revolves around how the adventure duo lands up in Karachi, Pakistan amidst the political conditions.

The movie which had a lavish mahurat with the industry’s who’s who attending it went through a lot of hurdles in its initial schedule. Producer Vashu Bhagnani and director Ashish R Mohan remained tough throughout it and overcame all the problems for the movie to finish smoothly.

London witnessed the crew working for long hours without much of rest in climatic conditions which usually an Indian body cannot easily sustain.

The lead actors Arshad Warsi and Jackky Bhagnani were mistaken as terrorists by the Scotland Yard in London. Both the actors and extras were required to shoot in Wales for a particular sequence dressed in Talibani outfits with guns in their hands. The crew was suddenly surrounded by Scotland Yard resulting in halt of the shoot. Finally the misunderstanding was cleared off by Vashu Bhagnani producing the necessary documents.

Also, Jackky has left no stone unturned after the replacing incident. He was so dedicated to his role that he ended up hurting himself. It was a stunt where fighter Gita, and Jackky along with the gun curvy evacuation ended up hitting him accidentally on his hip bone with a dummy metal gun. He was in deep pain after throughout the sequence but like a true professional, he went on to complete the shoot without any hindrance to the crew.

When contacted Jackky replied, "Yes I met with an accident on the sets of the movie. In my line of work such incidents happen on the sets. But one should not be let down and work with utmost spirit and that's exactly what I did. We had that particular location only for a day and hence had to finish the shoot on the same day itself."

Well, as they say. All’s well that ends well!!!

The movie is slated to release on April 10^th 2015.

John Wick [Keanu Reeves] a lethal mafia bludgeon is in a forlorn as he has lost his wife Helen [Moynahan] due to an incurable illness. Her dying gift a little dog to him is the only survival source to cope with desolate life.

One night when he encounter to one Iosef [Alfie Allen] and his gang adds to more grievous trouble as he forcibly insists on buying his'69 Mustang’ but ultimately he steals the car and manically kills his dog, when he drives the car to one infamous garage of Aurelio's [Leguizamo] to get it unofficially transferred and customized Aurelio realizes whose car it is, he refuses to get involved. The royal mess created by losef leads to mayhem as his father Viggo [Michael Nyqvist] is none other but a head of Russian Mafia. Thus Viggo now wants to protect his son and seeks pardon from wick’s reprisal but in vain. Wick in spite of the enormous threat of the Russian Mafia goes on brutal hunting of Iosef killing his henchmen one by one.

John Wick is a dark and guttural cinematic experience with lots of bloodshed and less scope to narrative of an insignificant vengeance drama.

A unique approach to film making!!

Director Richard Linklater and his cast Patricia Arquette, Ellar Coltrane, Lorelei Linklater and Ethan Hawke have shot for a period of 12 years to show the real transition of a family. A benchmark in history of cinema, surely to be remembered for years to come it’s not a easy task for a director or the cast to be assembled for such a long period and give a performance with fine distinction of what the script demands.

Year 2002 Mason Evans Jr. [Ellar Coltrane] and his older sister Samantha [Lorelei Linklater] are being raised by Olivia [Patricia Arquette] a single parent in Texas. Mason's father, Mason Sr. [Ethan Hawke], often takes the children’s for vacation. Meanwhile sometime in 2004, Olivia takes a decision to get married to her professor Bill Welbrock [Marco Perella] as they try to blend their two families; Bill obnoxious behavior endangers the children, therefore Olivia files for divorce.

Mason Sr. is always the guiding spirit to the children’s and he also gives Samantha some growing tips about using contraceptive while dating her boyfriend. In 2012, Mason has his first crush on Sheena but in a short instance has a painful breakup. The film leaves us at a stage where Mason begins his new innings leaving her mother alone and distressed as he forays into further opportunity in life.

The engaging part of the film lies in its basic proposition of showing the routine growth of human relationships, the complexity and the emotions what coerce the married life and raising their children’s.

Ellar Coltrane as Mason has done an incredible job by giving a realistic performance which grows with the time and days. Richard Linklater deserves a standing ovation for his endurance, this kind of endeavor which is not easily taken by a film maker.

Rajkumar Hirani loves street food

Raju Hirani ditches a five star hotel and hops in a street food place in Delhi to eat the local food.

Recently Rajkumar Hirani was in Delhi for the first song launch of his film P.K., Tharki Chokro.

Since he was in Delhi he preferred to rather try the variety of local food on the popular streets that the city has to offer instead of eating in a five star hotel.

It was surprising for the team to have this coming from a person of that stature. However, knowing the down to earth and grounded man that Rajkumar Hirani is, it was not unbelievable at all.

He was very comfortable eating with the other commoners at the eatery and thoroughly enjoyed the flavors of the food.

In Aurangabad someone has booked theatre for 3 days and showing to everyone who wants to see the film. Gurgaon DT star Mall has kept minimum cost for the ticket plus provided free beverage and snacks for the audience. 

Akal Purakh Schools are showing all children the film across 42 schools and 50,000 students. Also for screening held in Pritampura on wednesday, langar was served for free.

In Ranchi, Chaar Sahabzaade has been arranged free of charge on 11th and 12th November.

Special Screening of Kill Dil

KICK coffee table book in the making

Sajid Nadiadwala, producer for over 28 years turned director with Salman Khan starrer Kick which broke all records and became the biggest number a debut director's film has made.

A source close to the producer shares on request of anonymity that Sajid Nadiadwala is getting special coffee table books of Kick made.

On request the source revealed, "This book covers the journey and will have very interesting things that went into the making of this high octane action film. Right from the making of the mask to shooting of the most iconic and stylish train sequence, the book beautifully captures the spectacular journey of making the film."

The producer is very happy and excited to send the coffee table book along with DVDs of all his films that released in 2014 as keepsakes to all his friends.

This gift will be shared on the occasion of his production house entering the 60th year of operations.
