Ranveer Singh turns choreographer for Kill Dil

Displaying RS.jpg

The actor who will next be seen in Yash Raj Films’ Kill Dil has choreographed a recently released song from the film, Sweeta that features him and Parineeti Chopra.

The makers got Ganesh Acharya on board to choreograph the song. But, when he heard the track and got an understanding of which part of the story it is in, he decided to give a free hand to his actor.

The song shows Parineeti doing several activities in her day and Ranveer Singh, who is in love with her, is around her all the time.

We have seen Ranveer Singh pull off some killer dance moves in his earlier films. However, this was the first time he tried his hand at choreographing a song.

He was very excited about it as the song permits him to go absolutely crazy and for someone who is always so full of energy, it was too much fun.

Ranveer Singh in his character has gone absolutely crazy in the song playing around with different props, doing unusual things. The makers were very sure that Ranveer could pull this off and so gave him full rein.

The song just has mad moves and not a specific dance that people can follow.

Ganesh Acharya says “The best part about shooting Sweeta was that we gave Ranveer Singh full freedom in the song. He could do whatever he wanted to. There is no choreography or a signature move as such. But he has thoroughly enjoyed the song, done masti and at the same time brought the romantic feel to it.”

Ranveer Singh shares, "Ganesh sir was too sweet to let me do my thing for Sweeta. They are not steps as such. I am just having fun in the song. There was no nervous energy; only excitement all throughout."

New single ‘Dangerous’

David Guetta announces new single
‘Dangerous’  (feat. Sam Martin)

New single ‘Dangerous’ to follow Worldwide #1 hit ‘Lovers On The Sun’ as second album single - to be released on October 6th

After scoring a landmark 7th UK #1 single with ‘Lovers On The Sun’, a track that also topped charts in France, Germany, Austria and Finland and boasted Platinum streams in Denmark, Sweden and Norway, David Guetta is about to shift the needle yet again with his new global lead single ‘Dangerous, featuring once more the vocal talents of emergent new artist Sam Martin.

Although David is renowned for working with some of the world’s biggest artists, he is also credited for collaborating with talent such as Sia. He believed in her incredible Titanium spirit and now she is a global sensation. With Sam, David found another unbeatable voice.  With ‘Listen’ firmly on the horizon, Guetta has announced his new global lead single ‘Dangerous’, which again features talented US vocalist Sam Martin, out on October 6th.

‘Dangerous’ is a departure from David’s famed sound. With its mid-tempo beat it is a mighty statement from him. But then he is an artist that likes to take risks, as he did when he merged electronic music with hip-hop on his album ‘Nothing But The Beat’.  Opening with subtle piano key notes and delicate string work, before Martin’s voice is introduced to resounding affect. Beautifully pitched, it punctuates a sea of swirling, synth FX that soon make way for, down-tempo, funk inspired bass guitar licks matching electronic sensibility with classic instrumentation.  ‘Dangerous’ is a single that represents his ability to pair solid dance music credibility with chart ingenuity - a facet of his work that makes him one of the world’s most successful artists.

David Guetta’s new album ‘Listen’ is will feature a wealth of exclusive new material with an eclectic array of collaborators.  Set for release on November 24th, the album will undoubtedly build on the remarkable success of his 2011 triple-platinum album ‘Nothing But The Beat’, which won him multiple awards, including a Grammy, AMA and was widely credited as changing the landscape for Electronic music world-wide and breaking open America.

Constantly touring and playing live to over 2 million people this year alone, this is one that’s already seen Guetta play headline slots at some of the world’s biggest festivals such as Tomorrowland, where he announced a Brazilian festival debut that sold out in just 3 hours, hold coveted residences in both Las Vegas @ XS and at Ushuaia and Pacha in Ibiza, headline the iTunes Festival in London and open BBC Radio 1’s Ibiza Weekend. All this hard work has lead him having hit 57 million fans on Facebook.

David Guetta’s ‘Listen’ will be available to pre-order globally on iTunes from Monday 6th October.

Myntra fashion weekend

Men’s Health magazine
curates a luxury menswear show at Myntra fashion weekend
Redefines the rules of men’s fashion

Men’s Health magazine curated a luxury menswear fashion show at the Myntra Fashion Weekend at the Palladium Hotel in Mumbai on Saturday, Oct 4, and set the stage to redefine the rules of men’s fashion. Firstly, the magazine did away with high brow designer wear and chose to showcase real-guy looks with ready-to-wear collections across various brands. As a result, the show started with sharp, dressy looks from Thomas Pink, moved to the casual cool of Paul and Shark and ended with the punk and rebellion of Diesel Black.

Ali Zafar, the showstopper of the evening, defied another rule and opened the show instead. Looking dapper in a grey suit with a pink shirt, the Pakistani singer-actor was escorted down the ramp by leggy models wearing items of men’s clothing, yet everyone’s attention was fixated on him. Businessman Timmy Narang and a few players from Mumbai FC were the other known faces who walked the ramp.

Another unique aspect about this show was that it did away with recorded music and had percussionist Faizan Hussain (Zakir Hussain’s nephew) do a live jugalbandi with popular South Mumbai DJ MihirGanatra right through the programme. Choreographed by Lubna Adam, the models were casual and cool, and several of them did a little dance, or a high five as they walked the ramp. Popular female model Binal Trivedi, who sat in the Men’s Health enclosure on the front row, got a lot of impromptu kisses from the models walking the ramp, but chose to return only a few.

Along with stylists from Men’s Health, celebrity designer and stylist Aki Narula styled the looks of the models.

The front row comprised of socialites Zeba and Rajesh Kohli, sculptor ArzanKhambata and wife Khushnuma, film director Onir, TV star Vishal Singh, actor and former MH Cover Guy Freddy Daruwala, amongst others. Members of the the Mumbai FC also sat in the front row and cheered on the crowd.

Men’s Health editorial director Jamal Shaikh said: “With this show, we are making two statements. One: That menswear is not about brands, its about clothes that enhance your personality. And two, that Men’s Health encourages you to get fit, not to go out shirtless all the time, but to look better in the clothes you wear!”
