SYNOPSIS

It wasn’t politics that liberated a nation, it was love.

A boy herds his father's cattle over the Transkei hills. A teenager cries out as he's ritually circumcised, 'I am a man!' A young lawyer buys himself sharp suits and fast cars in post-war Johannesburg. A reluctant advocate for his people, swept up in the murderous repressions of apartheid South Africa, becomes an armed revolutionary. A wanted man on the run becomes a prisoner shut away on Robben Island to be forgotten forever.

Over the long years helearns to forgive, and to win the trust of his enemies. A father and grandfather who has never known his children and grandchildren comes out of prison to lead his people. The boy who ran barefoot over the hills becomes the first President of a free South Africa.

No man in history has done what Nelson Mandela has done. In changing himself from warrior to peacemaker, he transformed his country and set an example to the world. But the price he paid was heavy. Separated after two short years from the love of his life, Winnie, he was helpless to protect her from the apartheid state, which did all it could to break her spirit. Even as he was teaching himself to forgive, she was learning to hate.

When at last he was free to lead South Africa in peace, she was calling for war. He came out of prison to find himself a hero to the world, but he had lost the one woman whose picture had been by his side all through the long lonely years.

An old man walks alone in the spectacular countryside of his native Transkei. His prodigious life was inspired by two fundamental dreams: freedom for his people and his love for a woman. And he couldn’t have both.

The film is scheduled to release in India on Friday 24^th January 2014.

Sherlyn and Tisca felicitated children by giving them gifts and spending time with them.

"The real stars" This is how the children suffering from Cancer were greeted at the function organised by Mr. Akhil Chitre MNS youth wing activist These children were accompanied by Sherlyn & Tisca Chopra. The event was organised by Akhil Chitre as a new year entertainer for these underprivileged and ailing children.

MR. Akhil Chitre organised a movie Mahabharat for around 125 children who have few days of life as they are suffering from terminal cancer. The event was held at Cinemax in Bandra and was attended by Sherlyn and Tisca who also felicitated these children by giving them gifts and spending time with these children. They were very excited to get autographs from Sherlyn and Tisca.

The moment was very memorable and it moved many hearts and even tears rolled down the eyes of  onlookers who were equally happy to see the joy of these children.

Shilpa Sarpotdar ( contested MP elections),Dr. Saleem Khan were the other guests present for the event. 

Aamir Khan was seen smoking heavily out of anxiety and nervousness.

Prior to the release of the film, Dhoom 3, that has now crossed all the crore clubs and made a new benchmark in terms of collections in India and also in the overseas markets which is not easy to cross, the actor Aamir Khan was seen smoking heavily out of anxiety and nervousness.

However, there was one person who kept telling him not to smoke and it was his elder son, Junaid.

Junaid usually does not like Aamir smoking. He is at all times concerned about his health... However this time around he reasoned with his father as a professional as well.

Junaid who is the AD on P.K. kept insisting on how smoking as a habit would harm his health and might also affects the shooting of his upcoming film.

His son cum AD told him that he needs to be fit for the film, keep a check on his diet and avoid smoking which could harm him in the long run.

Usually, Aamir does only film at a time. But this time around the actor had to get back to shooting Raju Hirani’s P.K. (next schedule)

While Aamir reasoned back with Junaid and promised to give up the habit in a couple of days.. which he lived up to as he started getting very good feedback from audiences.

The super success of Dhoom 3 with breaking all the barriers, creating history and positioning itself right on the top of all other films in Indian cinema worked for Aamir to leave that stick of smoke.

Dhoom 3 has sky rocketed at the box office and broken record after record but Aamir was also very heartened to see his son cum AD monitoring his health.

The winters this year are very severe. The cold wave has slowed the everyday workings, especially in the northern belt. In various north cities like Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, Jalandhar the mornings are very cold and there is heavy fog. Even the sun sets in early and the cold is almost biting.

Before the film released, Aamir was getting constant feedback from YRF and trade on how the weather could affect the film’s release.

The weather usually makes it difficult for the audiences to venture out.

However, the film got a fantastic response from the northern belt. The film opened in a big way and continued to soar at the box office.

Infact, the Punjab sector particularly has done extremely well. Even the early morning shows were more or less housefull.

Aamir is extremely thankful to his fans in Punjab who have despite extreme weather conditions have gone and watched the film.

The ace actor has been very keen to personally thank the audiences. He has actively been discussing this with his team and was also considering to visit Punjab.

The Council will showcase three films from Hollywood studios: Captain Phillips- Sony Pictures , What the Fish – Viacom Motion Pictures and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Fox Star Studios. In addition to film screenings, the LA India Film Council will facilitate masterclasses by industry experts on the business of Hollywood. Mumbai, January 9, 2014:Women in Film and Television (India)(WIFT),will launch the first trailer of AnubhavSinha’s Gulaab Gang on their social media pages comprising of over 3000 fans. The trailer will launch at midnight, across the social networking pages of the film’s actors and Producer Anubhav Sinha as well. Inspired by true events, 'Gulaab Gang' talks about pink sari-clad women activists who protest against the social injustice in the Bundelkhand region of central India.

WIFT will also send out an emailer to all its WIFT India members requesting to put the first look of the movie Gulaab Gang as their status, on the 10th January, 2014 at 12.00 am IST. The international WIFTI will also do the same across 50 chapters globally.
