*****
Vidya Balan as Bilkis
aka Bobby Jasoos is yet again a feather in the cap of Ms.Balan’s multitalented acting
skills. This lady is never going to let down her fans, from getting into shoes
of sensuous silk smitha in ‘Dirty Picture’ to ‘Kahani’,
Ms.Balan has given it all to the Indian Cinema to be in the archives forever.
Bobby Jasoos a small
time detective on the streets of Hyderabad, street smart and snooping into
every domestic matter’s of life in the local mohallas, whether creating a hindrance
in the marriage proposal of a beleaguered Tasawur [Ali Fazal] from his father and
also trying to break gangster Lala [Arjan Bajwa] girlfriend’s marriage to
create a smooth passage for the don.
A rich NRI Anees
Khan [Kiran Kumar] lures her with exorbitant fees to track down three unfamiliar
persons one after another, this coerce Bobby on a wild goose chase to locate
whereabouts of this inexplicable strangers. At the end some unnerving facts
surface leaving Bobby Completely baffled.
Ms.Balan engages us
with a full on entertainment for a
whopping two hours with a effortless performance she is there in almost every
frame, rarely giving a chance to blink.
Ali Fazal gradually
shows his charisma as the story unfolds towards climax, he is endearing when he
forcibly comes to taint Bobby but instead confronts his father for Bobby’s quality
for being an ideal match for him.
Bobby Jasoos is absolutely
pleasurable to watch and an authentic Hyderabadi biryani served by Director
Samar Sheikh.
