The spectacular show saw nine Bollywood divas
walking the ramp wearing Diva’ni, along with Shahrukh Khan,
as a tribute to the legend himself
Mumbai, September 27th, 2013: Diva’ni,
the brainchild of YRF (Yash Raj Films) and KBSH Pvt. Ltd. was unveiled ata
star-studded gathering today at the Yash Raj Studios as a tribute to the
veteran director, Yash Chopra on his birth anniversary. The extravaganza
witnessed the who’s who of both Bollywood as well as the fashion coterie coming
together to salute the legend who gave romance a whole new meaning in Indian
cinema.
The
magnificent fiesta was a visual treat to the audience showcased througha blendingof
elegant fashionwith lights and sound to re-create a saga of love. The show
began with a special screening as a tribute to Yash Chopra’s vision of bringing
out the best in his heroines followed by his effervescent divas walking the
ramp wearing Diva’ni, unraveling an exceptional story of romance in each
ensemble.
The key
highlights of the night were the 65 Diva’ni ensembles showcased on the ramp,
transporting the entranced audience to the majestic world of traditional Indian
weaves, exquisite zari, the vibrantRajputanagottapatti,the evergreen
sequenced handwork, the bespoke hand-paints, the ethereal Dhakai nets, the
ancient Kashmiri and Gara art and the
very elegant multi huge crystals presented with a contemporary twist. Watching
nine divas, Rekha, Sridevi, Madhuri Dixit, JuhiChawla, Rani Mukherjee, PreityZinta,
Katrina Kaif, Anushka Sharma and Parineeti
Chopra, gracing the event adorning Diva’ni, each representing a different era of Indian cinema,along with Shahrukh Khan, was a
breath-taking experience.

me in celebrating my husband’s birth anniversary together this evening. Today’s
special commemoration is most befitting and I couldn’t have asked for anything

Parinita
inherited her passion for design from her family lineage of craftsmanship reigning
down to her grandfather. Hence, the political science graduate happily joined
the House of KBSH 15 years back as the production manager and is now the proud
design director of the heritage ethnic wear house. Parinita strives to change the face of
traditional Indian weaves and actively works towards recouping the diminishing
handloom industry.
Amalgamating
exclusive patterns and styles with contemporary silhouettes, Parinita enjoys
creating exceptional stories on her six yards of canvas every day. Her urbane
designs & hand paint series integrate both conventional and modern worlds. Reflecting
her creative moods in her ensembles, Parinita brings to Diva’ni her immense
expertise and experience of the art of embellishments, learnt over the years
from the masters in the field.
Anjali, a
fashion graduate from Pearl Academy of Fashion, always knew from the scratch
that she would one day be a designer and pursue her dream to dress up women in
the most exquisite ensembles. Her love for Shibori
art throughout her journey has been a huge inspiration for the young
designer and is reflected deeply in her intricate creations of kacha resham.
Beginning her
career as a designer with Satya Paul, Anjali also holds the credit of working
with NGO’s in Kutch, Gujarat, and being mentored by Rohit Bal for over seven
years before joining Diva'ni, India's First Cinema Inspired Fashion Brand.
