HGH India – Country’s most popular trade show for HOME and HOUSEWARE segment commences its 12th edition at Bombay Exhibition Center, Mumbai



With a 20% increase in y-o-y demand, India now ahead of China by several International brands

The 12th edition of HGH India commenced today at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon. Being India’s most popular trade show for the Home and Houseware sector, it was inaugurated by Mr. Alessandro Liberatori, Trade Commissioner / Director of the Italian Trade Agency, New Delhi, Mr. Atul Shah, Spokesperson of BJP Maharashtra along with Mr. Arun Roongta, MD, HGH India. The show will culminate on 16th December 2022 and will be back with its 13th edition in July 2023, at the same venue. With over 100 new exhibitors amongst 400 brands and manufacturers exhibiting from all over India and 30 other countries, HGH India 2022 Spring/Summer edition is all set to unveil many new products and new suppliers across home textiles, home décor, home furniture, houseware & gifts categories. 

HGH India has always acted as facilitator and catalyst of business growth and specific categories with high potential in the Indian market. Continuing these efforts for the benefit of both exhibitors and serious trade buyers, the 12th edition of HGH India will once again lay focus some specific categories with vast untapped business potential.  These are World of Sleep, Home Furniture, Smart Kitchen, Wall & Windows and Kids’ Home. 
Mr. Arun Roongta, MD, HGH India said, “An overwhelming response from retailers to the introduction of the new Spring/Summer season for sourcing by HGH India indicates the growing maturity of the Indian market for home products. With 20% increase in year-on-year demand, India is now considered the most lucrative market in the world, ahead of China, by several international brands and Indian exporters of home textiles, furniture, decorative accessories, and houseware products. With favourable demographics and increasing spending on their homes by consumers, the next decade will clearly belong to India. Market will sustain a minimum growth of 15% in a conservative scenario, which can go upto 30% year on year in some categories like wallpapers and kids' home categories.  Even mature categories like bed sheets will continue to grow at 12-15% yoy for the next decade.  HGH India will continue to act as a catalyst to this evolving business opportunity for players across the value chain in home categories.”

Amongst major firsts, the Italian national pavilion will have physical presence of 9 exhibitors under the aegis of Italian Trade Agency (ITA), who will showcase their well-designed range of home furniture, wooden flooring, wallpaper, interior concepts, and exquisite decorative accessories. Their primary objective is to identify their long-term business partners in India in form of distributors, brand representatives, franchisees, importers, architects & interior designers. “India and Italy’s bilateral trade relations have been excellent and have grown by 44%, which is further estimated to reach total trade equalling 15 billion Euros by the end of 2022 which will be the highest ever. Italy is the 4th largest supplier of furniture to India, which is the fastest growing economy. Our participation in December 2021, was in the form of a Catalogue Display from 6 Italian companies, having a space of just 18 Sq. mtr. This time around we are covering an area of 137 sq. mtr having an Italian national pavilion with the participation from 9 Italian companies. Therefore, we are very upbeat regarding our participation and the Indian market as a whole”, said Mr. Alessandro Liberatori, Trade Commissioner / Director of the Italian Trade Agency, New Delhi  

Handicrafts, Handloom and Cottage sectors have been one of the biggest beneficiaries of HGH India, finding a long-term gateway to India’s national market.  More and more of such small manufacturers are getting connected to well-established offline and online retail chains year after year.  Over 70% of the 37,000 serious trade buyers from 550 cities and towns across India have made HGH India part of their annual calendar for sourcing, trends, and market information.  Of the top 100 retail chains and distributors in India in the home category (including offline & online retailers), 95% visit HGH India regularly.  Over 90% of HGH India visitors are senior decision makers. GOQii forays into United Arab Emirates (UAE) with its Preventive Health Ecosystem and Web3 based Digital Health Metaverse




Partners with Harley International Medical Clinic to Pilot Digital Therapeutics and Health Metaverse in UAE

Mumbai/Dubai, December 8th, 2022: GOQii, a pioneer in the preventive health-tech space, has announced its foray into United Arab Emirates (UAE). UAE would be the third market for GOQii, after India and the UK, to establish its presence with a comprehensive Preventive Health Ecosystem and Web3 based Digital Health Metaverse. GOQii had earlier also presented at GITEX GLOBAL the world’s largest tech show and had committed to investing and expanding its base in the GCC Area.

GOQii has partnered with Harley International Medical Clinic with an aim to drive Health Metaverse in UAE. With this partnership, the residents in UAE will now be able to avail the comprehensive digital diabetes care program. This announcement was made at GOQii’s annual event called ‘Reimagine Health in the Metaverse' on 8th December 2022 at the Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai. 

Harley International Medical Clinic will be enrolling users with diabetes on the GOQii health platform and help them manage their diabetes. The GOQii Diabetes Care programme is implemented to help people with diabetes to manage their condition and take ownership of their health with external help and expert guidance.

Each user will be onboarded on a comprehensive digital platform and would be equipped with state-of-the-art connected devices, health coaches, doctors who will guide them to change their lifestyle and control their HbA1C levels.

Each user will have the option of creating their virtual avatar which will be connected with their GOQii Age. This would give the users a unique and fun-filled option of getting younger digitally, share it with their friends and be continuously motivated to maintain their healthier self.

Indian Gamers are keen to explore career opportunities in Gaming: HP India Study


PC emerges as the most preferred gaming device for a better gaming experience 


Highlights 

Good earnings prospects are driving interest towards gaming, Gamers eyeing diverse career options in the sector
56% of women gamers consider gaming as a career option, with hobby turning into their career as the key trigger  
Majority of gamers find gaming as a source of entertainment, mental well-being & socializing
Two-thirds of the respondents voted for PCs as the most preferred gaming device, with 39% of mobile gamers willing to switch to a PC 

New Delhi, December 5, 2022, — Indian Gamers are showing a strong interest towards a career in gaming, according to The HP India Gaming Landscape Study 2022. The study covering over 2000 respondents across 14 Indian cities highlighted that gamers feel gaming offers good earnings prospects along with multiple career choices.  

In the second edition of HP’s Gaming Study in India, PC remained the most preferred device for gaming. An overwhelming 68% of gamers voted for PC, as it offers better processors, design, and graphics with immersive displays. 
 
Gaming as a Career Option:

According to the study, around two-thirds of serious gamers want to explore gaming as a full-time or a part-time career. Another key reason driving gamers towards gaming is the possibility of their hobby becoming a career. Gaming is also considered as a source of entertainment & relaxation (92%), improving mental agility (58%) and socializing (52%).


The growth of the gaming industry in India is also helping Indian gamers to try their hand at various career options. While becoming a gamer remains the most preferred, other options like becoming an influencer or a gaming software developer also interest them.

The benefits of PC gaming are also persuading mobile gamers to switch. 39% of mobile gamers are looking to migrate to a PC for gaming.

Women gamers are on the rise in India. Women gamers are eyeing a career in gaming, turning their hobby into a profession (50%) and providing good earnings prospects (45%).

According to the study, only 2% of respondents have received formal training in gaming. While most gamers rely on personal skill enhancement to upgrade their gaming performance, 32% follow a gaming star to enhance their skills.

Initiatives by HP to foster the Indian gaming ecosystem: 

Gamers are always keen to upskill and consume content to better their game. With the OMEN Playground community, HP is providing a one-stop destination for gamers to Upskill, Engage and Empower. The Playground provides gaming videos from pro gamers to learn from and an opportunity to join the OMEN Squad. In addition to this, HP has also onboarded renowned Indian gamers, providing regular content to help aspiring and budding Indian gamers.


Methodology
In total 2010 respondents completed the survey in 2022, across 14, Tier-1 and Tier-2 cities across India. Interviews were conducted with a mix of male (75%) and female (25%) respondents between the ages of 18-40 years. Respondents were PC users (60%) and mobile phone users (40%).
