Raghu Ram & Rajiv Lakshman launch their new venture - Monozygotic

While rumours have been doing the rounds for some time now, we can finally confirm that twin talents, Raghu Ram and Rajiv Lakshman are coming together to launch their new venture, Monozygotic- a Content & Brand Communications studio.
While most of us recognize them as the creative driving force and the definitive face of the cult show Roadies, this dynamic duo is in fact responsible for creating a number of other enduring, genre defining television shows such as Splitsvilla and instrumental in the launch & success of Masterchef India. They have also broken new ground in the digital content space through pioneering properties such as Roadies Battleground and Jack & Jones Hitched.
Monozygotic is the culmination of their careers spanning over two decades.
Mono…what you ask? 'Monozygotic means identical twins i.e. coming from the same zygote' explains Raghu with a smile.
'And life is coming full circle for us, as the two of us are finally joining forces to form one entity' adds Rajiv
Monozygotic will focus on content creation across mediums like television, digital & on-ground and offer brand consultancy for clients across industries. ‘Multi-media formats, optimizing technology, consumer engagement’ is how the duo define the core of this new enterprise.
While their individual ventures have left an indelible impact, it will be interesting to watch how they take this legacy forward as a team.

'Trivial Disasters'

Richa Chadha is one actress who has never believed in doing the same kind of things. From playing a pseudo - Godmother in  Gangs of Wasseypur to essaying the role of a spunky don in Fukrey, Richa has slipped comfortably in each of the roles.

The actress will now be seen in the play ‘Trivial Disasters’ alongside Kalki Koechlin,  Purab Kohli and Cyrus Sahukar. Directed by Atul Kumar, the play features 8 situations which highlight human absurdities. This humorous play will travel throughout India after it opened in Bangalore on 25th of July. The play will also be featured in cities such as Lucknow, Hyderabad, Chennai, Patna, Mumbai etc.The actress was not very keen on taking up this play as she wanted to focus on her upcoming movie – Main aur Charles. It so happened that the actress was in New York sometime back and wanted see Denzel Washington perform in a play. As luck would have it, the play was Houseful and she had to coax out the tickets from her friend. At that point in time she was still contemplating if she should take up ‘Trivial Disasters.’ Turns out, she was so inspired by Denzel Washington’s performance, that she then decided to challenge herself and take up the play.

‘Chidiya Ghar’ is the story of a fun-loving family comprising of different members with their own uncanny & funny mannerisms. As per their different names, all the members exhibit one unique trait that defines their personality and behavior.

 

In the upcoming sequence, the members of Chidiya Ghar will find themselves in a conundrum due to the crazy & humorous situations created by Gadha Prasad (Jitu Shivhare) and Babuji (Rajendra Gupta). Both of them accidentally eat something which has an unexpected effect altering their sense of mannerisms. Comical chaos ensues in Chidiya Ghar owing to the antics of both the family members.

Jitu Shivhare aka Gadha Prasad said, “I wanted to give an edge to the character of Gadha Prasad while shooting this sequence. It was a bit of a challenge as my character is very unique and with such an interesting twist I had to put in a lot of effort to bring authenticity to my role. It was an amazing experience in itself to move out of my comfort zone.”

Cinestaan Film Company to produce 3 Films 

 Mumbai, July 28, 2014: Cinestaan Entertainment Private Limited unveiled its plans to produce films and shall soon foray into television and internet services. Rohit Khattar is Founder and Chairman of Cinestaan and Anand Mahindra is a major investor.

Cinestaan's first subsidiary, the Cinestaan Film Company is delighted to announce its foray into film production with a three film agreement with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s ROMP Pictures. 

Rohit Khattar, Founder Chairman says, “I am delighted to announce the launch of Cinestaan Entertainment in partnership with Anand Mahindra. We share a common vision and similar tastes in story telling which shall, we hope, manifest in some good films. Cinestaan is committed to preserving the rich legacy of our cinema heritage for which we are working on several initiatives including an oral histories television project that shall celebrate the memories and contributions of our screen legends. 

To begin our film slate with a prodigal talent like Rakeysh Mehra is an incredible high and we are excited about developing these films with him.  Cinestaan shall announce some more projects soon."

Cinestaan Film Company’s first film as a co-production with ROMP Pictures will be the Rakeysh Mehra directed ‘Mirziya'. The second film ‘FanneyKhan’, is an official remake of an Oscar Nominated film to be directed by Nitin Kakkar, the National Award Winner for Best Film “Filmistan” in 2013. The third film (yet untitled) shall again be directed by Rakeysh Mehra.

Mohit Suri to fulfill decade old dream finally!

Director Mohit Suri, who is currently basking in the success of his recent hit "Ek Villain", will now finally get to fulfill his decade old dream.

Sources close to the director reveal that Suri will be taking his first vacation since the past 10 years by going to the US to meet his old friends. Apparently, Suri had wanted to visit his pals in the States ever since he made his directorial debut but could not do so due to his professional commitments. However, now that he is relatively free after the release of his film, he has decided to fly to the US to meet his pals after 10 years.

Suri flew to the UK where he was joined by his wife Udita, post which he will fly to the States.

Asin Pledges To Donate Her Eyes, Organs!!

Actress Asin is known for her charitable endeavors and carrying forth her philanthropy she has pledged to donate her eyes and organs post-obituary.

This is not the first time the actress has extended her support towards those in need. In the past she has donated blood in a blood donation camp as well.

 

Confirming the news on donating her eyes and organs Asin said, “It is something I’ve wanted to do for a while now. I hope to encourage people to make a pledge and join me in helping those in need.”

The actress will be seen next in Umesh Shukla’s ‘All Is Well’ opposite Abhishek Bachchan.

P.K to shoot its last schedule in August

Rajkumar Hirani has been busy with the post production of P.K. However the ace director yet has a chunk of shoot to complete.

Source close to the production shares “P. K. still has some portions that haven’t been shot, including a song that will be filmed across India.”

The source further shares, “Aamir has to lose weight for the shoot and get a toned body. The shoot will most likely happen in August or September.”

Rajkumar Hirani is keeping things ready and once the remaining part is finished the final post production will start.

The last schedule would take about 10 – 15 days of shoot. The team is also currently doing recce and prepping for the shoot.

P.K is one of the most anticipated films of the year. It will mark the return of Rajkumar Hirani and Aamir Khan after 3 idiots. The film is slated to release on December 19.

After speaking Bhojpuri for his upcoming film with Raj Kumar Hirani, P.K., Aamir Khan is now heard speaking in Bhojpuri to people around him.

Instead of greeting people in English or Hindi, Aamir has switched to a Bhojpuri lingo.

After learning the Bhojpuri lines and rattling them off for his Christmas release, P.K., the actor has been fluently conversing in the newly learnt language with everyone. 

Aamir converses in Bhojpuri with his staff, kids, colleagues, friends and in fact, anyone who drops by to meet him. “He will order tea in Bhojpuri, suddenly break into the language in the middle of a conversation and sees you off with a ‘Phir milab’.

The actor learnt Bhojpuri properly for his film and he wants to continue speaking the language so that he can speak it as fluently as English or Hindi. 

Aamir had earlier learnt Marathi and Swimming for one of his earlier films as well.

Mohammed Ali street is known for its delicacies, and is it is frequented by a lot of people during the holy month of Ramzan, to break their fast.

The two actors decided to go impromptu to experience and taste the variety of food available. They had a scrumptious meal including a lot of kebabs, naan and tandoori chicken.

While they visited a lot of people gathered around and were clicking their pictures and asking for autographs.

The two are soon becoming food experts. They have tasted varied dishes during the shoot and continue to explore new cuisines.

While they were shooting for their film Daawat e Ishq they gorged on a variety of food in Lucknow.

Even during the trailer launch the theme was Iftaari and both Aditya and Parineeti suggested dishes which should be part of the menu.

Tiger wants to do something special for his Tigress

 

Tiger Shroff wants International Tiger Day to be special for his cub, Lee.

The biggest debutant of the year, Tiger Shroff who made his debut with Sajid Nadiadwala’s Heropanti, adopted a four-year-old tigress called Lee at the Maharajbagh zoo in Nagpur recently.

The actor visited the city during the adoption for the legal formalities and also to see the tigress personally.

Now, on the occasion of International Tiger Day, the actor was keen to do something special for Lee. Be it getting fresh meat for her or telling authorities to arrange for special shelter for her especially during these monsoons.

The actor has been bearing the expenses incurred for the tigress since then.
He keeps checking on her to see whether she is healthy and well taken care of.

He returns to Yash Raj Films 12 years after his super-successful last outing with them, Shaad Ali’s ‘Saathiya’. Vivek has been on a roll with two back to back blockbusters, ‘Krrish 3’ & ‘Grand Masti’ and will be seen in a completely different role as a CBI Officer who turns the bank-chors lives upside down. ‘Bank Chor’ is scheduled to go on the floors immediately and is planned for an early 2015 release.

Rhea Chakraborty, previously seen in Mere Dad Ki Maruti, plays the female lead in this mad riot.

‘Bank-Chor’ is a comic-caper, that tells the story of 3 morons trying to rob a bank who pick the worst day possible when everything that can go wrong, goes wrong and how they’re inadvertently caught in the crossfire of cops, industrialists and corrupt netas. And just when you think things can’t get any worse, in comes a CBI officer who turns their lives into a living hell! ‘Bank-Chor’ is directed by Bumpy and produced by Ashish Patil.

Delhi has been known to lend Tinseltown some of its most glowing talent.

And now, on the threshold of starting shoot for his debut film stands another Delhi talent, Navdeep Chhabra. Says Navdeep, "I am very excited about my first film.

 It is a very relevant story which will challenge me to explore many shades of my personality.

 It is an entertainer and a hard hitting reality.

 It's too early to talk about the storyline beyond this but in times to come there will be lots to reveal. " the film whose producers, star cast and storyline are being kept tightly under wraps is being helmed by director, Devang Dholakia who is currently wrapping up shoot for his film Tina and Lolo.

Says Devang, 'Navdeep is a rare find. He is talented and brings a whole different charm on camera.

While I can't reveal much about the film at this point, fact is I have looked for the right actor for this film for a long time and Navdeep is perfect for the role.

We will start shooting soon and look to release early next year . '
