These Awards were received by the Bank during 55th SKOCH Summit “The Economic Manifesto” held on 22nd December 2018 at Constitution Club of India, New Delhi.
Union Bank’s pioneering & ambitious initiative “Hub & Spoke Model” for Rural & Semi-Urban branches has been implemented to improve the asset quality as well as sales productivity of the branches. Union Samriddhi Kendra is a centralized processing centre which processes and sanctions all type of loan proposals of spoke branches mapped to it under one roof. The objectives of the model are to increase sales productivity through partnerships and dedicated outbound processes; specialized and dedicated credit cell for improved flow of proposals through digitized (paperless) processing; rapid adoption of new age Digital channels for increased migration of walk-ins, ensuring more quality interaction at branch and better customer experience by providing improved coverage through outlets.

This initiative of the Bank aims to accelerate the credit flows to Retail, Agri & MSME sectors through focused sales and marketing, enhance customer service through improved Turnaround Time, better credit appraisal and developing expertise required for examining and processing of rural credit, reduce NPA. Dedicated teams of RDOs are serving rural folk at their doorstep for credit requirements and bring awareness about social welfare schemes.

Actress Pooja Hegde and Asian Marathon Champion- Gopi T, unveil the Official ASICS ‘Race Day Tee’ for the TATA Mumbai Marathon 2019





 

Mumbai 20th December 2018: ASICS and Procam International, today unveiled the official ‘Race Day Tee’ for the 16th edition of the Tata Mumbai Marathon. ASICS, the brand globally synonymous with running, celebrates its tenth year as the official ‘Sports Goods Partner’ for Mumbai’s iconic racing event. Actress Pooja Hegde, an avid runner and fitness enthusiast, along with Asian Marathon Champion, and India’s very own, Gopi T, did the unveiling of the 2019 edition of the 2019 Race Day Tee. The unveiling also marked the 30-day countdown to India’s only IAAF Gold Label Marathon.

The ASICS ‘Race Day Tee’ is a mark of accomplishment for every full marathoner in the Tata Mumbai Marathon and will be a part of his or her Race Day Kit, along with the race bib.

organising the second round of Indo-French professional meetings for the Film and Television
Industry on 13 - 14 December, 2018, in Mumbai.
In a boost to Indo-French ties in this sector, the French Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs, H.E.
Mr Jean-Yves Le Drian, on a two-day visit to India, will preside over the closing ceremony of the
meetings. He will announce the institution of a special fund to encourage Indo-French co-
productions and exchanges.

Godrej host Agri- Conclave

 – “Shaping the Future of Indian Agriculture” to highlight the role of corporates and civil society in doubling farmer income



Mumbai, 11 December 2018: Godrej Group, a diversified conglomerate, today, hosted an agri-conclave focusing on ‘Shaping the Future of Indian Agriculture’In the run-up to Kisan Diwas, the aim of the conclave was to focus on the role of allied stakeholders, such as corporates, civil society, and academia, in doubling of farmer income.

Thought leaders from Corporates, Non-Profit Organisations, Academia and Media came together to discuss agri-interventions that will empower farmers to significantly improve household income and also explore how the sector can be made more attractive for women and youth. In addition, they also discussed the role of millets and protein sources from both a nutrition and livelihood standpoint.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Nadir Godrej, Chairman, Godrej Agrovet Limited and Managing Director, Godrej Industries Limited said, “With the government laying special emphasis on the agriculture sector with the vision of doubling farmer’s income by 2022, we are positive about the growth and foresee a lot of potential for farmers. 1st T-20 cricket match between India and Afghanistan of physically challenged players for the “Ajit Wadekar Trophy” was organised by the All India Cricket Association for Physically Challenged (ALCAPC). This ceremony is inaugurated by cricketer Vinod Kambli, Consul General of Afghanistan in India Mohammed Zia Salehi, Mumbai University Vice- Chancellor, Dr. Suhas Pednekar, Trade Attache of Afghanistan Abdul Nafi Sarwari, “Avaya” Regional Sales Head Rahul Bhave, CS Infocomm Managing Director and Anil Jogalekar and All India cricket Association President Ashok Wadekar at Air India ground, Kalina, Santacruz East on 9th December 2018
The tournaments is started from 9th December to 17 December2018, at Sachin Tendulkar Gymkhana, Kandivali and the prize distribution ceremony would also be held at the same venue.
The international tournament has been organised in memory of cricket star and former captain of India Ajit Wadekar. All India Cricket Association for Physically Challenged had been working under guidance of Wadekar for the last three decades to promote cricket among physically challenged players. Earlier the cricket Associations from 28 states had participated in 5 nations’ international tournament held in Bangladesh.
Ajit Wadekar’s brother and President of All India cricket Association Ashok Wadekar, who was present during inaugural match turned emotional and said that “Ajit had been doing hard work for the physically challenged people for the last 30 years. He was giving a chance to them to play on international platform and helped them to improve their status in the society so that they too could achieve celebrity status. He also help them to improve their self-esteem and team spirit. Ajit’s dream has finally came true. In fact BCCI should have given the affiliation to AICAPC for which he had been trying since 2002. But BCCI is yet to respond to the request. As per the Supreme Court’s decision and the Lodha committee’s recommendations, AICAPC may get the recognition, but one doesn’t know how much time it would take” he added.
The tournament is being held under the International Cricket Council's “T20 cricket tournament format”. In the zonal leg was Maharashtra, New Delhi, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Haryana, Karnataka, Odisha, West Bengal, Jharkhand and Andhra Pradesh participated.

December 7, 2018, Mumbai: Europe’s No 1 cruising company, Costa Cruises, is commencing its India 
season for the 3rd time with the arrival of its ship, Costa neoRiviera at the Mumbai International cruise 
terminal today. The Mumbai home port starting today, was celebrated in the presence of Shri.Tawde, Hon'ble 
Minister School Education, Sports and Youth Welfare, Hon'ble Minister of State, Water Resources, Ms 
Stefania Costanza, Consul General of Italy, Shri. Sanjay Bhatia, Chairman of Mumbai Port Trust, Mr. 
Ashish Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary Transport and Ports, other senior Government officials, Marco 
Salvatico, Director, MICE & India Business Development, Costa Cruises and Smt. Nalini Gupta, Managing 
Director, Lotus Destinations, Representative of Costa Cruises in India. 
The event kicked off with an announcement of the sailing of Costa neoRiviera from Mumbai to Maldives via 
Cochin for the 3rd season. The sailings are from 08th December 2018 to 16th March 2019. This is the 3rd season 
that Costa Cruises will be homeporting in Indian waters and is the only international cruise liner in India to 
offer regular cruises directly from Mumbai to Maldives, confirming its strong interest in proactively 
developing the Indian cruise market.
This year Costa Cruises, has deployed its ship, Costa neoRiviera which will begin its first sailing from 
Mumbai with a Indian Wedding. The built-in infrastructure on the ship makes it particularly easy for groups 
to hold large events in one location. This classic cruise ship has a total of 654 cabins, including sea view 
cabins and suites with private balconies. With around 670 crew attending to approx. 1,700 passengers, the 
ship maintains its exclusivity and provides dedicated services to guests. Fully-equipped with a Casino, 
Theatre, Disco, Ballroom, Grand Bar, it aims to provide plenty in entertainment from Magic shows, 
operas and dancers that will captivate even the most well-travelled folks with spectacular performances.
The ship prides itself in serving up a culinary feast, catering to different dietary needs. Italian food is a 
speciality, with provision made to ensure customisation towards the Indian market by providing Indian 
& Jain meals. The wellness centre is spread across 1,300 sq. m with a gym, treatment rooms, sauna and 
steam room. It also has an outdoor jogging track, 4 Jacuzzis and 2 swimming pools. For those who would 
like to go shopping, the cruise ship has a duty-free shopping centre, and also offers a wide selection of books 
in the library for book lovers.
Massimo Brancaleoni, SVP Worldwide Sales, Costa Crociere, said keeping in mind the demand for cruises 
which is set to grow from India, Costa Cruises in 2019, will be bringing in an even larger ship, Costa 
Victoria with guest capacity of 2300 passenger. This has been in line with Costa Cruises being leaders in 
recognizing opportunities in new markets and paving the roads in fulfilling the same. 
Sanjay Bhatia Chairman Mumbai Port added “Cruise Tourism is a niche travel segment and its demand 
is expanding amongst Indians. Observing this trend, we have planned to encourage Cruise Tourism by 
inviting cruise liners to explore Indian waters. I am thankful to our Minister who acknowledged and
