130 entries from 18 Indian cities compete for the DISS 2014

The Winners gets an all-expense-paid trip to London and an opportunity to attend the Jameson Empire Awards!

21^st February 2014 – The True Irish Spirit, Jameson and Empire Magazine opened the Done in Sixty Seconds 2014 competition for entries in November 2013 and now, after a round of short-listing winners from across the country, announced the India entry for the DISS during the Jameson Empire Awards 2014. Keeping alive the legacy of the contest, the short film competition sees aspiring filmmakers from India pitting their entries against contestants from 16 other countries worldwide. Acclaimed film maker- Vikramaditya Motwane and Eminent film critic and media personality- Anupama Chopra chose the winning entries from across India. The winning filmmaker will travel to London with the both of them to attend the Jameson Empire Awards and be in attendance when the global winner of DISS is announced.

The DISS in India this year, in partnership with Talent House, garnered 130 entries from 18 different cities in India. Globally, in 2014, India emerged as the 2^nd biggest contributor out of 16 countries, Russia having the biggest number of entries. This prestigious ranking was achieved by a massive number of entries from Mumbai (50 participants) followed by Delhi and Kolkata with 13 and 12 entries respectively. Bangalore, offered 11 short movies for this competition.

The competition challenges entrants to re-make their favourite Hollywood movie in just 60 seconds. The competition was open to people of all abilities; whether you’re an animator with a passion for Claymation, an action junkie with a love of budget special effects, or even a first-time director shooting your film on a smartphone.

The Jameson Empire Awards celebrate the film industry’s success stories of the year with Empire Magazine readers voting for the winners. The awards ceremony is deemed by many in the industry as the most entertaining yet serious awards in the British movie calendar, making it the perfect match for Jameson.

That is not it; ironically, we see two different Khan Gangs supporting one project each in some way.

On one side we have, Mushtaq Sheikh from Shah Rukh Khan’s gang who is the associate producer of Gulaab Gang supporting the film.

On the other side, we have Aamir Khan’s wife, Kiran Rao, who hosted a special screening of the documentary, Gulabi Gang for her friends where she was also heard saying how it is one of the most profound documents of our society today.

      हरमन बवेजा और ढाई किलो का हाथ वाले सन्नी देओल के बिच काफी अच्छी बॉन्डिंग होगयी है क्यूंकि सन्नी देओल, हरमन बवेजा कि इमेज एक मैचोमैन कि बना रहे है। सन्नी देओल और हरमन बवेजा जैसे एक ही घर में रह रहे हो कुछ ऐसा रिश्ता दोनों का होगया है। इस फ़िल्म के एक सीन में हरमन बवेजा और सन्नी देओल के बिच आर्म रेसलिंग होनी थी और निर्देशक चाहते थे कि यह एक दम रियल लगे रियल एक्सप्रेशंस मिले तो वह हरमन को बार बार बोल रहे थे रियल हैण्ड रैसलिंग करो लेकिन हरमन ने निर्देशक से कहा सन्नी पाजी से हाथ लड़ना आसान नहीं है अगर रियल हैण्ड रेस्लिंग करूँगा तो सन्नी पाजी मेरा हाथ हर बार निचे कर देंगे हरमन जानते है कि सन्नी देओल कितने मजबूत है,आखिरकार यह शॉट शूट किया गया वो भी कड़ी ही मेहनत से।

           इस फ़िल्म के दौरान हरमन सन्नी देओल के बिच ऐसी दोस्ती हुई है कि वे दोनों शूट के बाद भी वह अपने काम, जीवन , एक्शन पर चर्चा करते है और पंजाब तो हमेशा ही शामिल होता है।

Koyelaanchal, directed by Asshu Trikha, under the banner of AMA Entertainment is slated for 1st May 2014 release.

Koyelaanchal starring Vinod Khanna, Suniel Shetty, Vipino and Rupali, is based on the Coal Mafia in Jharkhand belt. Maneesh Sharma launches Bhumi Pednekar

Maneesh Sharma of Band Baaja Bharat and Shuddh Desi Romance fame is known to give break to Ranveer Singh, Parineeti Chopra and Vaani Kapoor.

It had created a lot of flutter when he had identified talent from with in YRF office and given break to Parineeti. Once again he is set to do the same.

He is all set to give a break to Bhumi Pednekar who use to work in the casting department of YRF.

While in previous instances he was a director this time he is acting as a producer for YRF.

Bhumi was handling the television casting of YRF and later became an associate in casting with Shanoo Sharma.

When asked what she really wants to do, she would say she wanted to direct a film and maybe work under Shimit Amin as an assistant director.

YRF team was looking for girls all over the country when they had fountain of talent right in the casting office...

Deep down inside Bhumi always wanted to act...

She started working madly towards a goal and deadlines that were set for her and also started grooming herself.

The team of YRF told her that they needed her to do a mock test for other actors that lived overseas so that we could send that link to them if they needed a brief!

She performed and they loved it...

However they still wanted to test more girls and see if there was anyone out there who was better than her for this particular part. But she fit the bill completely..

And that’s how she got the part!!!!

Maneesh says, “Once, when she was in the midst of an audition, through the door which was slightly open I saw her conduct the audition and that is when I knew she can act”

The film features Mr. Peabody, a talking dog who is the smartest being in the world, and his adopted boy Sherman. On his first day of school, Sherman comes into conflict with another classmate, Penny Peterson. The adoption agency informs Peabody that they will reclaim Sherman if any more incidents occur. To complicate this issue, Peabody invites the Petersons over to break the ice. After Sherman's misuse of their time traveling WABAC machine to impress her has disastrous and comical results, it is up to them to put things on track before the space-time continuum is irreparably destroyed.
