Mumbai Heroes steals the show defeats Bengal Tigers

The third match of Mumbai Heroes was held at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack opposite Bengal Tigers where Mumbai Heroes won by 72 runs.

The match was a treat to the eye for the fans of Mumbai heroes as Apoorva Lakhia, Raja Bierwani, and Aftab Shivdasani played spectacularly well and made the team proud. Apoorva Lakhia made 21 runs in 11 balls, Raja made 33 runs off 33 balls while Aftab made 43 runs in 34 balls and made the team win. 

While Apoorva, Raja and Aftab rocked the batting line up, Bobby Deol and Varun Badola rocked in balling where each of them took 3 wickets. Bobby Deol got the man of the match award and Aftab Shivdasani got the Power player award.

Suniel Shetty says," This time we played very well, not only Appu and Aftab but also the whole team was on fire this time. We gave a tough competition to the Bengal tigers and won by 72 runs which is a very good win. I am proud of the team and we are trying our best to make it to the semi finals as well."

Niche films being recognized at the award ceremonies

The year 2013 saw releases of various content based films like Ship Of Theseus, Shahid, The Lunchbox etc. These films were equally loved by the audience and critics.

However, with the award season going on, all these films are getting recognized at the award ceremonies. Although, all these content based films aren't bagging popular choice awards, they are being widely recognized.

With such content based films which have released last year, the awareness and demand for these art house films have increased at a large extent.

The fact that these films are being recognized at award ceremonies proves that these films are getting one step closer to the audience. There is a hunger amongst the audience for such cinema and with these films releasing in good numbers, it looks the demand of the audiences will be soon met.

Films like Ship Of Theseus, The Lunchbox, Shahid, B A Pass etc indeed have garnered immense appreciation and now the audience are looking forward for more such releases.

There has been talk in the industry that Amit Sadh declined Amole Gupte's Hawaa Hawaai as he wanted more money. 

While Amole Gupte’s next Hawaa Hawaai is getting a lot of attention for its unusual name and return of Partho after Stanley Ka Dabba, Amit Sadh is also has earned accolades for his role in Kai Po Che and us doing films with respected  names like Shoojit Sircar and Subhash Kapoor. 

Amit who was initially approached for film regrets his decision for not taking up his film. After meeting Amole Gupte, Amit was very excited and wanted to work in his film, but the dates couldn't be worked out.

Amit says, “I had met him and wanted to work with him but it is my misfortune that I didn't do it. I regret my decision. I will always look back and regret my inability. It is one of the mistakes I made in my career. It was just that I was not able to take the right decision at that time."

Amit Sadh's next 'Running Shaadi.com' has been wrapped and is all set for a 2014 release and will soon start shooting for 'Guddu Rangeela'.

Today, we are inaugurating a dedicated pediatric multi-specialty hospital in Santacruz. The purpose of this hospital will be to provide comprehensive and complete pediatric services under one roof. This hospital now has 120 beds that includes 65 NICU beds, 15 PICU beds. The NICU and PICU facility are state of art and one of the largest facility, not only in Mumbai but also in this country. Services provided here include: PICU, NICU, general pediatrics, a world class pediatric surgery complex, advanced diagnostics, fetal medicine, genetic services, and many other pediatric sub-specialties like nephrology, neurology, endocrinology, gastroenterology etc.

On this occasion, we dedicate this day, to all our heroes from neonatal intensive care unit of Surya, who are some of smallest, tiniest, sickest neonatal survivors of this country. These infants were born as early as 24 weeks, and weighed as low as 500 grams. These babies, despite being born at very early gestational age, with extremely low birth weight,  with smallest size and having gone through extremely difficult journey during their neonatal period, they valiantly fought this difficult  battle and  have emerged as intact victorious survivors. They have fought many medical and surgical problems, with the pendulum swinging several times between life and death in the course of their hospital stay; however, finally defying all odds they have made it through. Today, we are felicitating some of these tiny miracles, who have now blossomed, by none other than Shri Amitabhji Bachchan.

We are proud to call some of these tiny tots and their families together to celebrate the day of inauguration and dedicate this hospital to the care of children of this country. We are also launching “Surya Child Foundation” which will cater to the needs of high risk NICU graduates. This foundation will also have a parent support group which will help and guide the parents of all NICU graduates to sail through most the difficult and emotionally challenging time. This foundation will also help and guide them in upbringing these kids up to 5 years of age.

Mumbai 9th February, 2014: Palak Muchhal, the beautiful girl from Indore whose childhood dream was to be a playback singer in Bollywood has come true. She has won the Best Playback singer (Female) Zee cine awards 2014 for the amazing rendering of the song "Meri Aashiqui"  in the Film Aashiqui 2.

Palak Muchhal started singing when she was just four years old when she became a member of Kalyanji-Anandji Little Star, a group of young singers, She has been trained in Indian classical music and can sing in 17 different languages.

She along with her brother Palash does regular charity shows and has traveled extensively in India and abroad for raising funds for children who have kidney ailments and has made her entry in both Guinness Book of World Records and Limca Book of World Records for great achievements in social work.

Palash her brother is equally talented and apart from doing the charity shows, he has made a niche in Bollywood as a music director by giving music to 17 films of renowned film-makers including Ashutosh Govarikar, Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra's Dhishkiyaoon whose music release is scheduled on 20th February.
Palak was overjoyed when she was selected as the Best Playback singer (Female) Zee cine awards 2014, and to celebrate this joyous occasion, she went straight to Krishna Studio to meet her Mom, Dad and her brother Palash who was recording a song with Arijeet Singh, for the film Dhishkiyaoon, which is being produced by Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra. Their Mom and Dad were extremely happy and touched by the achievement and the whole family celebrated the winning of this prestigious award at the recording studio.

Mr. Lahiri entertained the guests with his harmonious vocals that floored all those around. He also commended Dr. Paramita Mukherjee Mullick for her flair for writing rhymes that impacts the reader deep within.

The music company has also approached the actor to launch the special album for them and promote it.

The World Premiere of the much anticipated release, RoboCop. The movie is set to release on 12th of February in the US and 14th of February in India. A reboot of the cult classic from 1987, Robocop makes a return to the screen after 21 years with Swedish actor Joel Kinnaman paying the lead along with Abbie Cornish, Smauel L Jackson and Micheal Keaton forming a stellar starcast. The movie is directed by the acclaimed Brazilian film-maker Jose Padhila.

Lone Survivor is a true story of America-Taliban War in Afghanistan, the film shows the fact of an unsuccessful United States Navy SEALs mission Operation Red Wings, in which a four-man [Mark Wahlberg as Marcus Luttrell] SEAL investigation and surveillance team was tasked to track Taliban leader Ahmad Shah way back in 2005.

The film has some incredible combat action and excellent camera work by Tobias Schliessler which will leave you spellbound. High production value and meticulous costume designs have been done with great care. Also the bullet wounds and blood shedding will shake up your sense for a while.

Writer-director Peter Berg has passionately given the message of loyalty, bravery, and sacrifice in the film. He has fittingly filmed all the portions of the actual facts with an astute pace which will keep you engage from beginning to end.
