CREDAI forges ahead with the Regional Competitions for India Skills 2016/World Skills 2017

Mumbai, 28th June 2016: CREDAI flagged - off the regional competitions for the event India Skills 2016/World Skill Competition 2017, today with the commencement of the Western Zone competition at Ajmera Realty’s Bhakti Park Site, Mumbai, Maharashtra. Nainesh Shah, Secretary – MCHI CREDAI, Percy Chowdhry, Director – RAGC, J.P.Shroff, Convenor – Skilling, CREDAI National, Rajni Ajmera, Chairman – Advisory Council, CREDAI National and Kavi Luthra, Executive Director - RAGC graced the occasion as the Guests of Honour. The competition was conducted by CREDAI’s Associate Partners, Kushal & Rustomjee Academy for Global Careers (RAGC). J.P. Shroff, Kavish Thakwani from Kushal and Gladwyn Victor from RAGC were the Jury members for this prestigious competition.

Kamlesh Chauhan, Taukir Ansari, Rani Naik & Nagma Shaikh were announced as the winners in Bricklaying. Sabavath Kumar, Mohammad Arman, Balvir Singh, Shailendra Chavan & Rathalanath Kumar were the winners in Wall & Floor Tiling for the Western zone. The winners were awarded with a certificate of recognition and a monetary reward worth Rs. 2000 each. The regional competitions are being held across the 4 zones, now with the Western round completed as well, only 2 more regional rounds are left. The winners from each zone will climb up to compete within the gamut at the National level to be held in Kushal, Pune on the 3rd and 4th of July. 2 workers from each skill set (i.e. 8 in all) will be nominated to the India Skill Competion to be held in Kanpur on 15th of July in the presence of the Hon’ble Prime Minster of India, Shri. Narendra Modi. The winners of the India Skills event will then be trained by CREDAI at Kushal for the World Skills Competition to be held in Abu Dhabi in 2017 and will be awarded Rs 1 Lakh each as prize money.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Jitendra Thakker, Chairman - Skills Development Committee, CREDAI, said “The Western Zone and CREDAI’s skill development initiative have had a long relationship as this is where Kushal originated. Mumbai is a hub for construction in the nation and yet there are millions of unskilled workers servicing this sector. We at CREDAI, being an apex body for real estate development, wish to change that scenario by facilitating the right ecosystem. We have now set the target of training at least 10,000 workers in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. We are confident that the final selected candidates will demonstrate India’s potential to the world sincerely and do justice to it.

CREDAI entered in the world of skilling with its flagship program “Kushal” in 2011. Since, then CREDAI has been focussing a lot in skill training of construction workers. Taking cognizance of CREDAI’s commitment towards skilling of construction workers PNB Housing Finance Limited (PNBHFL) associated with it for upscaling the construction workers under its CSR initiative. With the support and trust of PNBHFL CREDAI is expanding skill training of construction workers across India. So far CREDAI has trained more than 27000 construction workers in a period of 5 years.

(INDIA, June 24, 2016) – DJI, the world’s leading maker of unmanned aerial vehicles,

demonstrated its latest flying camera in Delhi and Mumbai. The Phantom 4 is the first consumer

quadcopter camera (or “drone”) to use highly advanced computer vision and sensing technology

to make professional aerial imaging safer and easier for everyone.

The Phantom 4 expands on previous generations of DJI’s iconic Phantom line by adding new on-
board intelligence that make piloting and shooting great shots simple through features like its

Obstacle Sensing System, ActiveTrack and TapFly functionality.

“With the Phantom 4, we are entering an era where even beginners can fly with confidence,”

said Kevin On, Associate Director of Communications, DJI. “People have dreamed about one day

having a drone collaborate creatively with them. That day has arrived.”

The Phantom 4’s Obstacle Sensing System features two forward-facing optical sensors that scan

for obstacles and automatically direct the aircraft around the impediment when possible,

reducing risk of collision, while ensuring flight direction remains constant. If the system

determines the craft cannot go around the obstacle, it will slow to a stop and hover until the

user redirects it. Obstacle avoidance also engages if the user triggers the drone’s “Return to

Home” function to reduce the risk of collision when automatically flying back to its take off

With ActiveTrack, the Phantom 4 breaks new ground, allowing users running the DJI Go app on

iOS and Android devices to follow and keep the camera centered on the subject as it moves

simply by tapping the subject on their smartphone or tablet. Perfectly-framed shots of moving

joggers or cyclists, for example, simply require activating the ActiveTrack mode in the app.

The Phantom 4 understands three-dimensional images and uses machine learning to keep the

object in the shot, even when the subject changes its shape or turns while moving. Users have

full control over camera movement while in ActiveTrack mode – and can even move the camera

around the object while it is in motion as the Phantom 4 keeps the subject framed in the center

of the shot autonomously. A “pause” button on the Phantom 4’s remote controller allows the

user to halt an autonomous flight at any time, leaving the drone to hover.

By using the TapFly function in the DJI Go app, users can double-tap a destination for their

Phantom 4 on the screen, and the Phantom 4 calculates an optimal flight route to reach the

destination, while avoiding any obstructions in its path. Tap another spot and the Phantom 4 will

smoothly transition towards that destination making even the beginner pilot look like a

seasoned professional.

The Phantom 4’s camera, still the world’s best aerial-optimized 4K imaging device, has

undergone an upgrade that includes improved optics for better corner sharpness and reduced

chromatic aberration. The Phantom 4 also has DJI’s signature Lightbridge video transmission

system onboard, allowing users to see what their camera sees in HD and in real-time on their

smart devices at a distance up to five kilometers (3.1 miles).

The Phantom 4’s form factor, still the classic quadcopter style pioneered by DJI, has been

redesigned and redefined to emphasize elegance and smoother, more-aerodynamic lines. Its

frame incorporates a lightweight composite core to provide enhanced stability and more-agile

flight. The core now features a redesigned gimbal that provides more stability and vibration

dampening, and has been repositioned for a better center of gravity and to reduce the risk of

propellers getting in the shot.

Refinements to motor efficiency, power management and a new intelligent battery have

extended the Phantom 4’s flight time to 28 minutes, which means more time in the air to

capture professional photos and video.

DJI crafted the Phantom 4 with reliability in mind, including redundant inertial measurement

units (IMUs) and dual compasses onboard. It uses new push-and-lock propellers that are faster

to install and more secure in flight.

In addition to intelligence and ease-of-use, the Phantom 4 is built for fun. Its new “Sport Mode”

for advanced flyers gives a taste of what drone racing feels like. In “Sport Mode,” the Phantom 4

can fly 20 meters per second (45 miles per hour) and ascends and descends more rapidly than in

other modes. The craft’s acceleration and top speed in “Sport Mode” also mean it can reach

locations for shots faster and capture shots you couldn’t get before.

DJI Brings Micro Four-Thirds Imagery Back to Earth with the Osmo RAW

New accessories enhance imaging, stabilization and power-management

(INDIA, June 24, 2016) – DJI, the world’s leading aerial imagery company, demonstrated its best-
in-class Micro Four-Thirds Zenmuse X5R camera for use with the Osmo at a media event in India

today. The Osmo is the imaging stabilization system that has transformed handheld photography

and videography.

The new system, known as the Osmo RAW, uses the same technology on the Inspire 1 RAW aerial

to bring unmatched cinematic-quality stabilized video to the skies.

“When we launched the Osmo, we reimagined motion,” said Kevin On, Associate Director of

Communications, DJI. “With the DJI Osmo RAW, we’ve gone even further. Now, creators and

filmmakers will no longer have to choose between image quality and image stability, no matter

from what perspective they’re shooting.”

The X5R will attach to the Osmo handle via an adaptor and store video on a removable 512GB

solid-state drive. Gimbal motors will ensure image stability on three axes, with pan and tilt

functions accessible either by using the Osmo’s thumb stick or through the DJI GO app. Users can

also control the X5R’s focus and aperture inside the iOS or Android app or using an optional DJI

Focus unit.

The X5R is the world’s smallest, lossless 4K camera optimized for aerial imaging. It has 12.8 stops

of dynamic range, an ISO range from 100 to 25,600, and a still-image resolution of 16 megapixels.

The X5R features interchangeable lens options, with video bitrates averaging 1.7Gbps, with a

maximum of 2.4Gbps. The X5R records CinemaDNG files and offers a new D-LOG mode with a

broader array of color correction options in post production.

Also available for the Osmo system is the Micro Four-Thirds X5 camera and gimbal, called the

Osmo Pro. It uses the same adaptor as the X5R, providing superior, stabilized video and top-
quality photo imagery.

The price of the Zenmuse X5R and Zenmuse X5 is now available at DJI authorized dealers across

India at INR310,000 and INR189,000 respectively. The X5/X5R adapter for the Osmo is available

at INR9,000.

DJI also introduced two new power-managementsolutionsfor power users of theOsmo, including

a higher-capacity battery that offers up to 96 minutes of shooting time at 4K resolution, an

increase from up to 66 minutes using the standard Osmo battery. With the Osmo Pro, shooting

time with the higher-capacity battery is up to 78 minutes, compared with up to 60 minutes with

the original Osmo battery. Shooting time on the Osmo RAW is up to 37 minutes with the new,

higher-capacity battery and up to 26 minutes with the original Osmo battery.

Users can charge their batteries with the standard Osmo charger or use an optional intelligent

four-battery charger that will fully charge both original and higher-capacity batteries

simultaneously. Four higher-capacity Osmo batteries will charge fully in around 120 minutes.

Using DJI’s new, extended battery means even more shooting time with the Osmo. This solution

is ideal for video journalists, photographers and filmmakers who spend hours in the field and

filmmakers who require multiple takes of a scene or who set a rigorous full-day production

schedule.

The battery-shaped power adaptor fits into the Osmo handle and connects to either a dedicated

DJI power charger or a DJI Intelligent Battery. Itsupports five different DJI AC charger units, three

models of DJI car chargers and six varieties of DJI drone and Ronin batteries that offer shooting

times up to 14 hours on the Osmo, up to 11.7 hours on the Osmo Pro and just under five-and-a-
half hours for the Osmo RAW. Shooting times will differ, depending on the type of battery used.

HAIER EXPANDS MANUFACTURING FACILITY IN PUNE, PLANS TO INVEST RS. 490 CRORE

                        

                                                                                                
MUMBAI, JUNE 22, 2016: Haier, the global leader in Home Appliances & Consumer Electronics and  World’s Number 1 brand in Major Appliances for the 7th Consecutive Year*, today announced the initiation of the expansion of their Manufacturing Facility in Pune, by hosting an official Ground Breaking Ceremony conducted in the factory premises in Ranjangaon, Pune. The event was conducted to initiate the expansion of Haier’s manufacturing facility in Pune, Maharashtra after the company signed a MoU last year with Maharashtra Government to invest Rs. 490 crore in line with Central Government’s “Make in India” initiative. The investment is aimed to scale up the production capacity of existing categories in the factory like refrigerators, while also introducing manufacturing operations for new product lines like, washing machines, air conditioners, LED panels, and water heaters.

With this development, the company also plans to generate employment opportunities in the state and increase the existing workforce from 1100 to 2900. Further, the company will also set up a Research & Development center in the city to enhance the innovation and production excellence in the country articulating the brand’s philosophy of ‘inspired living’. The expansion will likewise serve as an open door for the vendors and OEMs, bringing about an expanded business with increased local production and lesser imports of products.

The company also won the prestigious ‘Make in India Awards for Excellence’ under the consumer durable category in the year 2015 for contribution to the growth of the country’s economy.

Focusing on the company’s commitment to begin manufacturing in the country in alignment with the Make in India stance, products across all categories will be manufactured at the factory. Further, continuing the legacy of making innovative and revolutionary products and in accordance with the expansion of the manufacturing facility, Haier aims to gradually reduce the dependence on imports and increase exports from the country to aggressively contribute to the growth of the Indian economy. ”
