Rail Budget : Comment from Shri Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (Independent Charge) and Parliamentary Affairs

“9 crore man-days employment by 2017-18 and 14 crore man-days by 2018-19 is big opportunity for skilled workforce, that the Rail budget has presented today. Skill India will ensure maximum support in providing efficient and trained workforce for the railways in the country. We are already working in conjunction with the Ministry of Railways to bridge the demand and supply in the Indian Railways and also collaborate on infrastructure needs for skill trainings.”

“Calling the porters “Sahayaks” and not “coolies” reflects the respect that we are collectively trying to bring to our skilled workforce. India needs to undergo this perception and behavioural change” he further added
