Khushali most wanted!

Not just designing for international stars like Shakira, Justin Bieber, ex Spice Girl Melanie B and Leann Rimes, the much-in-demand glam diva Khushali Kumar has been wowing the B-Town A-listers too

Khushali Kumar is a name synonymous with style, panache, glamour, beauty and elegance. The acclaimed Delhi-based fashion designer first shot to international fame when the two-time Grammy Award winner, singer Leann Rimes performed live at the Grammy's in a flamboyant dazzling dress specially created by Khushali. The talented fashionista has since carved a niche in the international fashion fraternity and her list of clientele boasts of an impressive line-up of names globally. Right from the super-sensational singers Shakira, Melanie B, Ashanti to Carmen Electra, Jenna Dewan Tatum in the West, and Kareena Kapoor Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Alia Bhatt amongst several others here in B-Town, the movers and shakers swear by her designs. A name to reckon with in the fashion industry, her glamorous evening wear line is an extension of her personal style and the designs have also found their way on Paris ramp-walks.

With a rich fairytale vibe in her collections, Khushali believes that every girl has a star in her and so she makes sure that her clothes bring out that stunning facet and add dollops of glam! Little wonder then that the extremely-talented Khushali’s designs continue to be a hit with celebrities all over. “Creating concepts for dresses as a whole - be it evening or casual - excites me more than anything else. I myself don’t know what I would be creating tomorrow, so there’s always a sense of surprise or shock when I hold my pencil the next day. My dream is to create with no boundaries to follow, the skies are limitless and so is creativity,” says the young diva. “My collections are aimed at the women who want to experience something they haven’t experienced before, women who are thinkers, leaders, painters…” adds Khushali.

The daughter of the late music baron Gulshan Kumar, Khushali like her father, believes in continuously pursuing excellence. Having donned the cover and main-spread of several famous magazines, the pretty designer is a fitness and yoga enthusiast too, and is in fact often mistaken for one of the models herself. It is hardly a surprise then to know that there have always been offers from B-Town. And even though Khushali has so far chosen to stay away from facing the camera for the big screen, given her family background, when she will face the camera is a question that looms large on everyone’s mind.
