A historical drama film directed by actor Russell Crowe is a journey of emotionally shattered father who is in search for his three son’s battered bodies who are killed in the battlefield of Gallipoli - Turkey during World War 1.Crowe has painstakingly filmed and well acted in the entire story with a vivid set-up and casting as the film hardly draws your attention out once it picks up the pace of the fathers trauma to figure out where the bodies of his sons are desolated.
Yılmaz Erdoğan as Major Hasan gives a performance unmatched and memorable, he gets into the character of Major Hasan which from profligacy metamorphosis to a good Samaritan who helps Joshua Connor [Russell Crowe] to unearth the truth behind his sons recovery.
Ayshe [Olga Kurylenko] is captivating and characterize perfectly into the small town Turkish gorgeously looking Ayshe.
Though the film has backdrop of war torn memories, but in fact is made with subtle atmospheric experience that it does not get into a war genre films. Classic and sensible not to be missed if you are fan of cult films.
