In Kashmir, Salman Khan has a huge fan following. As Vishal Bhardwaj’s Haider is set in Kashmir, the filmmaker has included not one, but two characters in the film, who dress exactly like Salman did in his 90s blockbuster, Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!
When asked the filmmaker about it, Bharadwaj explained, "In the 90s in which our film is set, Salman Khan's fan following was massive after the success of Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! And many young people sported clothes and hairstyles like his, in the film. These two characters, both called Salman, are his fans."
Haider, starring Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Tabu and Kay Kay Menon, directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, produced under the banner of UTV motion pictures, is slated for 2nd October 2014 release.
