That time, I
was around 5 to 6 years old. I stayed in a place where the steam locomotives
use to come. And I was always running out to watch them, and hours and hours I
watched and sketch them. This is my old memory of childhood. I try to recall
that memory and translate into the canvas.
Presently
there is no Steam Locomotive around us. Now you might be seen in the museum or
other places as antic. My objective is to present those locomotives to the new
generation through this show.
It’s Nostalgia of YOU & Me…
02. What
is the story behind the title of the show?
Nostalgic is always an emotional memories of
childhood, which we never forget, which is always being with us. Those exciting
memories always feel you happy, and … Makes you sentimental…
…Same thing
is happening with me. I never forget those memories of my early days. Where, I
spent time with the locomotives. Day by day I was running to the locomotives.
Still now, I feel the steams of the locomotives, I love the sound of whistling
“…Choo… Choo… Choo…”
Those are my
happiest day in my life… Those are the memory always recall me… and encourage me
to do series of canvas of the steam locomotives …
That’s why
the title of the exhibition is “Nostalgia
of Steam Locomotives”.
03.
How important is mood in your Painting?
This is an
impressionistic approach in my work. I try to portray the environment of the
steam locomotive workshop of 70’s.
04.
How would you describe your technique & style?
The technique
& style is very simple, this is an acrylic painting on canvas. Here, I try
to use the method of color perspective and contrast of lighting, best
composition in all over the painting. The form and space division is very
strong. Mostly I use the monotonic color
palate like; Sepia, Gray, Black & White. Just because of, the paintings are
looking more of mature and old.
05.
Who are your inspirations?
I am inspired
by myself, who is always working head, optimistic, and believe in own
philosophy. My philosophy is “devotion in the work, producing the best work,
achieving the goal”.
06.
