The Hundred-Foot Journey a film to savor and a feel good cinema which is very rare, director Lasse Hallström and screenplay writer Steven Knight serve you a film where you have ace actors like Helen Mirren, Om Puri and the pretty Charlotte Le Bon.
A modern time fairy tale shot at picturesque location of Midi Pyrenees [France] will get you the most sought relief from the CGI which has been dominating the silver screen for a while.
A captivating tale about a cooks Migration from India to Europe is very fascinatingly sketched, Kadam [Om Puri] a local dhabha owner from Mumbai is ravaged by the riot and migrates with his Family to France for a livelihood.
Kadam set ups a Dhabha like eatery with Hassan Kadam [Manish Dayal] his eldest son who is a blessed culinary expert bank opposite Madame Mallory's [Mirren] Michelin-starred restaurant.
The restaurateurs of different continents with their graceful services lure customers to their menu. In between Mallory's pretty chef Marguerite [Le Bon] gets involved with Hassan giving him tips about French Dishes and is passionately caring for him.
While Mallory realize that Hassan's has some instinctive quality’s of cooking and he can bring on another Michelin star so Mallory proposes Kadam to let his son work for her Restaurant,Hassan journey of hundred foot begins from his Dhabha to the French Cuisine and in matter of time he adds another star to the restaurant grade. Thus Excels him to the heights of celebrity chefs of Paris.
The movie has everything in common as racism, hate, love and a happy ending. A simplistic approach in making and a fabulous performance by every actor is the happiness which one will come out with. If you have the taste bud for a flavor which comes rare then just order it now don’t miss it.
