Rani's visit to Jhansi

Rani Mukerji kick-started the promotions of her upcoming film Mardaani
​on​
 5th August.


The actress who had planned the entire visit has gone back to
​her ​
homeland after 20 years. Jhansi is significant to Rani as she
​has​
 a lot of memories
 of the place​. Also,
 the city has a
​strong​
 characteristic which has a
​relevance​
 to her character in the film.


The actress received
​a ​
very warm welcome from the people of Jhansi. Rani also felicitated Pushpa Yadav
, a​
woman sub-inspector of Jhansi
​,​
near the fort.


Rani for the first time will be seen playing the role of a cop. Mardaani is a very gripping and gritty film which will be touching the sensitive topic of Human Trafficking.

The film is set to release on 22nd August 2014.
