FUTURE DECODES AT WILLS LIFESTYLE GRAND FINALE
Namrata Joshipura stuns the audience at
Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Autumn-Winter 2014

New Delhi, 31 March 2014

The Wills Lifestyle Grand Finale by Namrata Joshipura inspired by the next revolution in human science concluded the Autumn Winter edition of Asia’s premiere fashion & trade event Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week in New Delhi at PragatiMaidan todayITC’s premium lifestyle brand Wills Lifestyle marked its successful collaboration with the acclaimed designer by presenting a spectacular Grand Finale. A striking amalgamation of futuristic designs and a dramatic show, the Finale impressed the audience with fascinating elements of grandeur.

The Grand Finale opened with a high-octane light driven show making quite an impression. The set up was dramatic with a LED lit ramp, creating a special experience for the audience. Kick starting the show was an impressive live music presentation that gave way to models sashaying down in striking avant-garde designs rooted in bold, dramatic silhouettes. The highlight of the show was the dance performance by artists in reflective suits that were engineered to befit the theme of the collection.

Speaking on the occasion, Atul Chand, Divisional Chief Executive, ITC’s Lifestyle Retailing Business said, “The Wills Lifestyle Grand Finale has always set new benchmarks in terms of presenting the best of Indian fashion. The Grand Finale today was truly spectacular! Our partnership with NamrataJoshipura extends beyond the ramp. We have tied up with Namrata to co-create an exclusive collection for the Wills lifestyle stores which will be retailed under the Wills Signature brand.”

Presenting a truly contemporary, chic and glamorous range for the dynamic women, Namrata’s collection named ‘elecTRON’ was inspired by brain mapping, genome decoding…the future! The cyber punk girl and her tribe has moved to the next evolutionary stage, distilled down to a collection of data points. It is a collage of thoughts and feelings that have become contemporary now with patterns from artificial intelligence, brain mapping and neural patterns being an important element.  In the creative process, new techniques were used to control surfaces. Texturing was used as embellishment, leather palettes were created and twisted fabrics were woven into surfaces. The signature silhouettes were represented with long and short dresses, body suits, shorts and jackets. There was an innovative use of color with strong expressions contrasted with beautiful embellishments.

A delighted NamrataJoshipura said, “I am honored to be the Grand Finale Designer at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion week. I have had a long association with Wills Lifestyle and FDCI. The Grand Finale show was a pleasure to conceive and I am grateful for the enthusiastic support received from the Wills Lifestyle & FDCI team. I also look forward to having my range at Wills Lifestyle stores."

The audience at the Wills Lifestyle Grand Finale were left spell bound as they witnessed a remarkable show by NamrataJoshipura!
