Rajasthan’s JIFF
Jaipur 6 January: JIFF is painted in the colors of Rajasthan and this year
expectations are higher from the previous year.Experts from Film, Television
and Theatre industry have been appealed for JIFF 2014. JIFF invites and
welcomes people associated with these industries to attend its opening
ceremony.
This year opening ceremony is organized at
Rajmandir Cinema on February 1, 2014 evening. JIFF committee members have decided to dedicate its
opening or closing ceremony to its home state, Rajasthan after every 5 years.
Lot of scrutiny is done while designing and organising
the Opening ceremony. Honourable Chief Minister of Rajasthan and more than 7
young filmmakers from Rajasthan have been invited for this ceremony. Invitation
letters have already been mailed to them
This year lifetime achievement award is being presented
to Rajshri Productions who have always
captured Rajasthan beautifully in their films and helped in portraying a
positive image in film industry.
This year JIFF would pay its tribute to noted
writer Vijay Dan Deta who has written many stories about Rajasthan and
scripts for film industry. Detha’s photo is even published on JIFF invitation card
and other designing material. Shyam Benegal’s CharandasChor, Prakash Jha’s Pariniti,
Mani Kaul’s Duvidha and Amol Palekar’sPaheli are some films based on Detha’s
writing.
A board of young filmmakers associated with JIFF and
senior filmmakers is being made to promote Rajasthan and Rajasthanis all over
the world.
Platform prepared for film
city:-One of the main agenda’s of the present government
is to make a film city and JIFF has tried its best to create awareness about
it. JIFF has tried to concentrate global
attentiontowards pink city. It has created a worthy platform for Jaipur’s film
city.
After JIFF, activities
related to films and film industry has increased in the city:-The fact which cannot be denied is only after the inception of Jaipur
International Film
Festival, activities regarding Indian film promotions in the city has
increased and is matching the level of metro cities like Mumbai and Delhi.
Internationally recognised
Film and Television Institute of India-FTII exam centre has been opened in
the city and JIFF has even promoted film culture in the state. The only
sub-metro city in AR Rehaman concerts is Jaipur
A discussion on the topic “Film city and ruling government’s agenda: hoax
or truth” is being organised at Chamber Bhawan – RCCI on February 2, 2014 at 12
p.m.
This year even the names of the awards at the closing
ceremony would be kept on the name of the Rajasthani’s who have worked
exceptionally in the film fraternity.
An inviting committee and welcome committee has specially
been created for the opening ceremony. The chairperson of the inviting committee is
Dr. Durgaprasad Agarwal and Welcome committee is famous painter Vidyasagar Upadhyay.
JIFF family requests all the Rajasthani’s from
Film, television, theatre and art fields to attend the JIFF’s opening ceremony
and participate in JIFF 2014.
