Keanu Reeves returns to the big
screen with 47 Ronin

release in India on 27th

Mumbai, December 5, 2013: Come
January 2014, Universal Pictures India gears up to bring their latest offering
from the land of the rising sun, 47 Ronin.
The 3D action-adventure film, which is about a real life group of Japanese samurai,
is the official comeback movie for Hollywood superstar Keanu Reeves. Along with
Reeves, 47 Ronin also stars Japanese actors Hiroyuki Sanada, Tadanobu Asano and
Ko Shibasaki. Based on an 18th century legend, 47 Ronin is directed by Carl
Rinsch and will be releasing in India on December 27, in English, Hindi, Tamil
and Telugu.
47 Ronin sees Keanu Reeves
lead an all-international star cast in this action-adventure film where, after
a treacherous warlord kills their master and banishes their kind, 47 leaderless
samurai vow to seek vengeance and restore honour to their people. Driven from their homes and dispersed across
the land, this band of Ronin must seek the help of Kai (Reeves)—a half-breed
they once rejected—as they fight their way across a savage world of mythic
beasts, shape-shifting witchcraft and wondrous terrors.
Based upon one
of Japan’s most enduring legends, this extraordinary tale of courage has its
origins in the early 18th century, when 47 noble samurai honoured the untimely
death of their master by avenging him. This groundbreaking reimagining about the
legend of the Ronin’s ultimate sacrifice and undying honour is now being reborn
for an entirely new generation.
