Indumati Laal Gupta (Played by Sucheta Khanna): An epitome of a typical Indian wife, Indumati Laal Gupta’s life revolves around her husband - Mukundi Laal Gupta and her son - Chukundi. She has a beautiful relationship with Mukundi Laal Gupta and even though the arguments don’t seem to cease, the love between them continues to grow. Her teenage son Chukundi is the apple of her eye and Mukundi blames her for constantly pampering and spoiling him.

Chukundi Laal Gupta (Played by Sanjay Chaudhury): Chukundi Laal Gupta is Indumati & Mukundi’s teenage son. This 17 year old is extremely fashion conscious and is highly inspired by Biji Pandeys’ way of life. He also loves irritating his sister and his favourite phrase is ‘Papa ab hum bade ho gaye hain’. His love interest is Dolly, Lapatanganj’s new resident and Launda Laala’s daughter.

Bhagyalaxmi (Played by Roshni): Bhagyalaxmi is Mukundi & Indumati’s 10 year old adopted daughter. They share a beautiful father & daughter relationship. He has very high hopes from Bhagyalaxmi; especially since his son, Chukundi is good for nothing.

The residents of Lapataganj lovingly call him ‘Chacha’.

Bindumati: Bindumati is Indumati Laal Gupta’s beautiful sister and Lallan Vajpayee’s wife. She always uses names of towns before using certain words like ‘party ka pilibhi’,gangajal ka gorakhpur or gajipur’

Lallan Vajpayee (Played by Rakesh Shrivastav): Lallan Vajpayee is Indumati Laal Gupta’s brother in law and Bindumati’s husband. Kachua Chacha (Played by Vineet Kumar): Kachua Chacha is an ordinary 45 year old resident of Lapataganj. Wise and unaffected by anything, the villagers look at him with high regards. His answer to most discussions and queries usually opens with ‘Kuch log kaam karte hain; aur kuch log kaam nahi bhi karte hain.”

Biji Pandey (Played by Abbas Khan): Biji Pandey has the most colourful attire and personality in Lapataganj. Lapataganj residents fondly call him ‘Biji’ since he always pretends to be the bijiest (busiest) man in the village. He is married to his love interest, Surili for over 5 years now. Formerly struggling to complete his law degree, Biji is now struggling to find a job. His favourite phrases are ‘Papa Kasam’ and ‘Deeply Ghus Ke’ and he uses these frequently.

Surili Pandey (Played by Aditi Telang) Surili has been married to Biji for 5 years now. However, Biji’s unsuccessful career causes them to live apart as they struggle to see each other. She is Mishri Mausi’s daughter and since she is unable to speak, her beautiful expressions are limited to ‘khao’ (eat), ‘laao’ (bring), ‘aao’ (come) and ‘jao’ (go). Although Surili is differently abled, she manages to express her love for Biji effectively.

Mishri Mausi (Played by Shubhangi Gokhale): The agony aunt of Lapataganj, Mishri Mausi is the over protective mother of the young and pretty Surili. She is also Chotu Maama’s overbearing sister. She is known for her kindness amongst all Lapataganj residents and often forgets words, which leads to hilarious incidents.

He has a son from his first wife named Tillu. He is foolish, lazy and ignorant and is always found sitting in Suttilal’s shop devouring free samosas and chai. He has a love-hate relationship with Biji Pandey and is extremely close to Elija.

Tillu (Played by Dhruv): Tillu is Chotu Maama’s son from his first wife who has passed away. He is smart and intelligent, unlike his father yet is a complete replica of him in terms of his appearance, clothes and habits. He is Chukundi’s best friend much like Guddu was once Biji’s best friend.

Eeji Pandey (Played by Abbas Khan): Eeji Pandey is as ‘nithalla’ as his twin brother, Biji Pandey.  His answer to almost everything is ‘Take it easy!’ After being jobless for a while, Eeji finally takes up the moral duty of protecting his town and becomes the Inspector of Lapataganj.

Guddu (Played by Ashutosh Sinha): Guddu has always been synonymous to a brother for Biji Pandey but later ends up becoming Biji’s twin, Eeji’s best friend. He progresses from being unemployed to working as a constable under the dabbang inspector, Eeji Pandey in Lapataganj.

Duniya Dubey (Played by Puja Mishra): Duniya Dubey is Guddu’s wife. She is straightforward with her thoughts and often scolds everyone who comes in her way for no reason at all. She also scolds Guddu all the time, one of the main reasons being, his friendship with Eeji Pandey. She keeps saying ‘Humre singhatte se’ all the time.

Elizabeth Yadav (Played by Krishna Bhatt): He is a tailor and seems to have learnt a lot about fashion from his mentor in Southern India. He is Chotu Maama’s best friend and partner in crime as he plays party to all the weird and stupid antics that silly Maama pulls off. He is known to end sentences with ‘henge’ instead of the usual ‘hain’.

Suttilal (Played by Sunil Kumar): Suttilal owns the only snack shop in Lapataganj and has named it after his father, ‘Puttilal Halwai’. He is famous for his samosas, chai and jalebis across the village and is often stressed about Chotu Maama, Biji, Guddu and Elija’s unpaid bills. He loves his wife Mircha dearly but the timid snack shop owner is also constantly scared of her beatings. After 5 years of running his shop, he finally manages to renovate it, much to the residents’ delight.

Mircha (Played by Soma Rathod): Mircha is Suttilal’s beloved wife. She is overweight and extremely fond of eating. She eats most of the snacks that her husband prepares with the intention of selling them. When he gets angry with Mircha for this, she often threatens to lift him up simply because she can!

He is the only one in Lapataganj with shades of grey to his character. He is extremely manipulative and always looks for his own gain.

Dolly (Played by Trishika Tiwari): Dolly is Launda Laala’s daughter. Her love for fashion and dream to become a movie star has had her run away from home a couple of times. She is extremely obsessed with her appearance and loves all the praise & attention that she garners from others.
