Daddy time for Deepika.
Deepika Padukone took some time off her hectic work schedule and indulged in some Daddy time by playing a friendly Badminton match with her father, Prakash Padukone.Apart from being a celebrated actor, Deepika Padukone is also a talented badminton player. The daughter of former badminton star Prakash Padukone, Deepika pursued the sport throughout school, and also played in various national level championships.
Deepika's father recently visited the city and Deepika took advantage of this opportunity to play the sport when her father.
“She has been shooting non-stop, but she made sure that she found some time to spend with her father. After a long time, Deepika and Prakash played a badminton match together. She used to play with him regularly when she used to live in Bengaluru (her hometown). Now, she hardly gets the time to pursue the sport in Mumbai,” says a source close to Deepika, adding that the Bollywood actor also discussed her upcoming projects with her father.
Deepika Padukone will be seen next in Imtiaz Ali's Tamasha opposite Ranbir Kapoor. The films trailer is set to release on September 22nd, 2015 and is to release on 25th November.
Toronto Film Review: 'Parched'
A drama about female subjugation and liberation that plays first like a horror story, then like a rosy fantasy, “Parched” argues that rural India continues to offer little for women other than servitude and abuse. With a keen eye for the cultural inner workings of her remote setting, writer-director Leena Yadav shines a light on India’s apparently still-thriving misogyny through the fictional tale of four women in the small town of Gujarat. It’s in this patriarchal milieu that Yadav pinpoints the various ways in which institutional and personal prejudices keep people enslaved, crafting a sharp portrait of gender inequality that, if the film acquires distribution following its Toronto bow, should resonate with audiences worldwide.
Though the focus is divided among four protagonists, the nominal center of attention here is Rani (Tannishtha Chatterjee), a 32-year-old widower about to marry off her 17-year-old son Gulab (Riddhi Sen) to teenage Janaki (Lehar Khan). Forced to mortgage her hut to pay for these nuptials, Rani finds herself in dire straits when Janaki arrives for the ceremony with her hair shorn. This turn of events brings shame upon their family, and further stokes the nastiness of Gulab, an entitled punk who, with his friends’ raucous support, frequents whores and condemns progressive skirt manufacturer Kishan (Sumeet Vyas) for having an educated foreign wife and, worse still, for treating his female employees as his equal.
Just as Rani and Janaki are trapped in an environment designed to keep them subservient, so too is Rani’s best friend Lajjo (Radhika Apte), a free spirit who suffers beatings at the hands of her husband for being both the household’s breadwinner, and for failing to give him a child. Considering that these women are indoctrinated with the belief that childbirth is their primary purpose in life, Lajjo’s supposed infertility is treated as a curse, though no worse than the promiscuity of dancer/prostitute Bijli (Surveen Chawla), whose ability to attract the town’s men to her shows — and into her bed, for a price — is vilified, even as her customers’ unfaithful behavior, often including rape, is accepted as merely par for the course.
Vacillating between harsh desert starkness and lush song-and-dance sensuality, the visuals by cinematographer Russell Carpenter (“Titanic”) prove attuned to these characters’ untenable circumstances, in which their sexuality is what men both despise and covet. Even when it implies that Rani harbors carnal interest in Lajjo, Yadav’s keen dramatization of their relationship, and its physical intimacy, makes clear that such feelings speak less to their potential homosexuality than to their shared craving for the very sort of genuine, tender affection that their spouses so maliciously deny them.
Weaving her stories into an incisive tapestry of oppression, Yadav conveys the twisted link between the men’s cruelty and the women’s instinctual impulse to blame themselves, and each other, for their own mistreatment. In that way, “Parched” taps into the way intolerance gains enduring, systemic traction and the difficulty of breaking free of its grasp, no matter the various methods of escape that manifest themselves. Although the agents of deliverance that do appear initially come across as narrative devices that will easily rectify the characters’ problems, Yadav’s script avoids simplistic solutions, and relegating its protagonists to downtrodden maidens in need of heaven-sent saviors.
Unfortunately, the resolutions “Parched” does proffer are ultimately too fanciful and hastily sketched to resonate as believable. Yadav is so determined to have Rani and her compatriots take control of their lives that she ignores the complications that would naturally arise from their seize-the-day actions. Still, thanks to attentive writing and sturdy performances, the director’s characters are so compellingly realized that it’s easy to succumb to the film’s hopefulness, even if it’s hard to shake the nagging feeling that, for many women like Rani, Lajjo, Janaki and Bijli, freedom is easier to dream about than to actually achieve.

Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Reloaded goes prop-tastic! OR Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa introduces props with a twist
Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Reloaded will be bringing in a number of new features as it will be the first week we get to see the wild card entries dancing prowess. Based on using day to day items usually found in a normal everyday space, the contestants will be using those items as props for their dance acts! Ranbir Kapoor to fly down to Mumbai for a day.
Ranbir Kapoor may be shooting for another film in London but he has asked the makers of that film for a day's break to be here for the trailer launch of his upcoming film Tamasha with Deepika Padukone.
The makers of the Ranbir-Deepika film have locked 22nd September to be the date for the much awaited trailer launch.
When the date was locked, Ranbir made arrangements to fly down to be present for the same. The actor will be arriving on the same morning and then returns back on the same night.
So, he will technically be here just for some hours.
There is a lot of excitement around Tamasha which is directed by Imtiaz Ali.
The audiences can't wait to watch the content of the film as the newly released stills from the film leave them craving for more.

Imran comes to a cats rescue!
It is not a secret that Imran Khan is an animal lover. At one time, he had around 12 pets in his Pali Hill residence.
The chocolate boy of Bollywood is the proud owner of two labradors, Tony and Kajri.
Recently, the actor rescued a kitten, who was about to get hurt.
A source close to the actor informs, ‘Imran found a little kitten hiding under his car. Had he not seen him, the kitten could have been injured.’With so many pets at home, Imran thought of adding one more to his family. He didn’t want the kitten to be roaming around and eventually getting hurt.
The source further says, “Imran didn’t want the kitten to stray around. He spread the word amongst his friends about the incident and was hoping anyone would come and adopt the little cat. When he couldn’t find a home for it, he thought of adopting the kitten and taking good care of her.” The new daddy who has a lot of compassion for animals took care of the furry creature. “Imran’s wish came true when someone came forward to adopt it.
It was Aamir Khan’s daughter Ira, who learnt about the kitten from her brother. She has now adopted her,” ends the source. When we contacted Imran about the same, he confirmed and said, “We all are animal lovers. I rescued the kitten, as she was hiding under my car and got her home. As soon as Ira saw her, she fell in love with the little one and took her home.”
Other than doing social work, Imran is also gearing up for his next release.
He will be seen in Katti Batti opposite Kangana Ranaut that is directed by Nikhil Advani. The film is stated to release on September 18.
The Talwar's to watch 'Talvar'
The Talwar family and their lawyers have asked the team of Talvar to show them the film.
Talvar which is allegedly based on the Noida Double murder case has intrigued the Talwars on how the film has been structured.
The movie is based on detailed research along with CBI and Police statements.
The Talwar family and their lawyers have raised objection to the movie.
As in the case of all the movies concerning sensitive issues, the lawyers of the Talwars have contacted the team of the Talvar and have asked them to show the movie immediately, failing which they will move to court.
Talvar is slated to release on 2nd October 2015 . Irrfan Khan, Konkana Sen and Neeraj Kabi are playing the lead roles. The movie is directed by Meghna Gulzar and written by Vishal Bharadwaj.

Yesterday, Shahid and Alia launched the song with the film's director Vikas Bahl as the duo treated newspersons to a live performance that set the stage on fire.
Based against the backdrop of the Shaandaar wedding, the film is an out-and-out youthful love story focussing on two characters Alia (played by Alia Bhatt) and Jagjinder Joginder (played by Shahid). Alia's father Bipin (played by Pankaj Kapur) adds the twist to their romance as he believes there’s no guy that will be good enough for his daughter while Alia is a dreamer. Jagjinder Joginder is a doer and he feels he can make anything happen! And for obvious reasons Bipin hates Jagjinder

Shahid is in love with his Segway ride.
Shahid is often seen enjoying his Segway ride on the set of a reality show on which he is a judge.
Imagine his sad, grumpy face, like Tom Hanks from Cast Away, when he loses his best inanimate friend, Wilson Volleyball. “Shahid sulked when he discovered his Segway was not around after he arrived for shoot at 10am on Wednesday.Everyone could see that he was pining for the two-wheeler, particularly during breaks which is when he zips around on his boy-toy keeping everyone entertained,“ revealed a source.
To cheer up the Haider star, his dance guru, singerperformer-choreographer and co-judge, Ganesh Hegde, surprised him by getting him a chair with four wheels and pushing it around. “Shahid's face lit up like a thousand-watt bulb,“ added the source.
Everybody had been waiting for that smile all afternoon. The actor wheeled around in his chair and aced 12-hours of shoot for the double episode this weekend.
The source further added that, “He'll be back next Tuesday and we're sure he'll be on his Segway before the first take. He's having a lot of fun on the show,“.

Bhushan Kumar’s “Dheere Dheere” breaking records….
With a week since the launch of the classic it has created sensation like no other song ever. Yo Yo Honey Singh along with T-Series’ Bhushan Kumar brought back the cult song of Aashiqui ‘Dheere Dheere’ with a modern twist.
