Delhi boy Manjot packs his bags for Pune
Manjot
Singh has bagged a parallel lead alongside Abhay Deol in SNAFU. The
shoot of which will largely take place in Pune. Manjot has packed and
left for a 40 day long schedule in Pune. The duo, Abhay- Manjot were
last in Oye Luck Lucky Oye in 2008. Right after Manjot’s confirmation
for the role, Abhay tweeted “Oye Manjot, Manjot Oye” welcoming him
onboard and now the promising actor is all set to roll.
In
oye lucky lucky oye Manjot and Abhay essay the same character, Manjot
being the younger lucky and Abhay as the grown up one. SNAFU will see
them together as parallel leads. Manjot essays the character of Sunny
Singh, a meek and submissive slum dweller. SNAFU is a thriller around
commonplace situations going out of hands as the title suggests.
Sethu
Sriram will make his directorial debut in Bollywood, having shot
topline projects such as Wanted, Shakti, Tere Naam, Teree Sang, Milenge
Milenge, OMG and Dusshera as DoP. Sriram has also directed a Kannada
film titled Godfather.
Talking
about Manjot joining the crew, Sriram said, “I’m glad we have Manjot on
board as Sunny Singh. We wanted a certain kind of vulnerability and a
meek demeanor. Manjot is a brilliant actor and he makes a perfect Sunny
Singh. The majority of this film is slated to be shot in Pune and we
have a packed schedule. My DoP has arrived from Chennai and the rest of
the crew members have also reached from Bombay while Manjot will be
flying down from Delhi. We will do a small puja and then roll at break
neck speed”.
Manjot’s last Bollywood outings were Fukrey and What the fish playing, in the both the films he plays a sardar.
