In what’s
fantastic news, the animation flick has bagged the 2nd highest
animation opening of all time in India. It has ‘flown’ in greta style at the
box office with a staggering weekend of RS 5.25 crore net weekend (7.5 Crores gross) comprising of
paid previews of RS 20 lacs paid previews + Friday’s RS 1.01. Cr + Saturday’s
RS 1.89 cr + Sunday’s RS 2.15 crores!!
The
movie has scored the 2nd biggest opening weekend for any animation movie
in India after ICE AGE 4: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (also a Fox Star Studios film).
This is also the biggest opening by far for a Dreamworks animation film in
India.The opening weekend of HTTYD 2 has already crossed the life time
collections of HTTYD the first part.
