Euler Motors to introduce Electric 3-wheeler Light Commercial Cargo Vehicles by early next year


Raised $2 Million in pre-Series A from Blume Ventures, Emergent Ventures and Andrew Lee

NEW DELHI, August 1,2019: Euler Motors, the automotive technology start-up focussed on electric vehicles will launch its 3-wheeler light commercial cargo vehicles by early next year.  Around 100 prototype e-vehicles of Euler Motors are already running on the Delhi-NCR roads used by companies like BigBasket, EcomExpress, BlueDart, Udaan etc. for their last-mile delivery.

Founded in 2018, Euler Motors has so far raised USD 2 Million from marquee investors like Blume Venture, Emergent Ventures and Andrew Lee to set-up the manufacturing & R&D facility, building indigenous Li-ion battery pack and hire talent. The R&D team at Euler Motors is focused on building automotive-grade lithium-ion battery pack that could deliver the range required for intra-city logistics in all-weather, temperatures and road conditions. The company currently makes Li-Ion battery pack of 5.76 KWh for its vehicles. Parallelly, Euler Motors has set up charging and service stations, combining hardware and software play bringing components like powertrain control system, battery and thermal management system, telematics and data-driven approach to fine-tune performance, and improve efficiencies of last-mile logistics. The company has also installed over 70 electric vehicle charging stations within Delhi-NCR.

Euler Motors is founded by Saurav Kumar who previously co-founded Cube26 Software Pvt. Ltd, a mobile technology platform that was acquired by Paytm at the beginning of 2018. Talking about the plans and approach of the company, MrSaurav Kumar, Founder and CEO, Euler Motors said, “Euler Motors is working towards providing sustainable last-mile transportation by accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles.  We understand the challenges of the sector, but we believe that our indigenously created battery pack and upcoming innovation in light commercial vehicle will set industry standard and thereby helping ecommerce companies, logistics providers and independent fleet owner.”

Mr. Arpit Agarwal, part of the investment team at Blume Ventures, said, “Alongside being electric, vehicles are increasingly becoming autonomous, shared and connected. It brings a whole new paradigm in the automotive industry that incumbents are not fully prepared for. Euler Motors represents a new crop of auto companies that are born in software first era. Saurav and the team were able to understand the paradigm of Total Cost of Ownership parity ahead of the market and built a product with a business model that has no parallel in India. As a result, they have seen demand of their products far exceeding their production capacity. We have immense faith in their ability to build this business quickly to a scale that will make them synonymous with commercial electric vehicles in India”.

The range of the current commercial cargo electric vehicles are 80-100 KMs, depending on the load on the vehicles and has the total capacity to carry 500 Kgs weight.  The company performs its research, manufacturing, and assembly from its two centres in Faridabad, Haryana and Okhla Industrial Area, New Delhi.

UNION BANK OF INDIA REDUCES LENDING RATES UPTO 20 BPS ACROSS TENORS




Mumbai- July 30, 2019: Union Bank of India has reduced Marginal Cost of Funds- based Lending rate (MCLR) upto 20 basis points across various tenors. Our bank has reduced both overnight and one month MCLR to 8.10% from 8.25% and 8.30% respectively. Three months and six months MCLR has been reduced by 10 bps to 8.25% and 8.35%. One year MCLR will come down from 8.55% to 8.50%. “As a result, interest rates on all loans linked to MCLR stand reduced upto 20 basis points with effect from 1 August 2019”. This is the second rate cut by our bank since June 2019. “Taking a cue from the latest measures announced by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and to support growth of the economy, we have reduced lending rates upto 20 bps across various tenors”.

Agriculture Minister, Shri Surya Pratap Shahi advises banks to accelerate KCC Campaign in Uttar Pradesh



In a special meeting held at Uttar Pradesh Regional Office of NABARD at Lucknow to review the progress under ambitious campaign to provide Kisan Credit Cards (KCC) to all eligible farmers in the state, Shri Surya Pratap Shahi, Agriculture Minister, advised RRBs and Cooperative banks to further step up their efforts in association with Agriculture & Revenue departments of the State Govt to issue planned 25 lakh fresh KCCs to farmers by 31 July 2019. He advised Chiefs of the banks that the State Govt was proactive to waive the overdue loans of farmers to enable easing of NPA position of banks and facilitating flow of fresh KCC loans to farmers. He said that under PM Kisan Samman Yojana, farmers are also receiving income support and maximum farmers covered under the scheme are from Uttar Pradesh. He exhorted banks to adopt positive approach for purveying higher credit flow to agriculture sector for its sustained growth and enhancing farmers income. He also advised the officials of agricultuire department to mobilise KCC loan applications from all eligible farmers together with verified land records for facilitating banks to sanction loans. He further said that in view of ongoing Kharif sowing, the process must be expedited and KCC loans be covered under insurance under PMFBY.
Speaking at the meeting Shri S A Pande, CGM NABARD, exhorted that both the grassroots level Govt machinery and bank branches must work in tandem to achieve the KCC target in the available short span of time. He further advised the cooperative banks to make best use of their outreach through cooperative societies to extend KCCs to all eligible farmer members. He informed that both RRBs and cooperative banks are expected to achieve around 8.50 lakh fresh KCCs which would be 1/3rd of State’s target of 25 lakh.  He advised that KCCs may also be extended to persons pursuing animal husbandry and fishery. 
  The SLBC convenor , Dr. Ramjass Yadav, GM, Bank of Baroda informed that a total number of 16672 camps have been organised within 02 weeks of the campaign wherein, total of 47268 fresh KCCs have been issued by all the banks in State. He exhorted banks and Govt agencies to double their efforts to reach the target and report data on a portal specially designed by the SLBC.
Shri Andra Vamsi, IAS, Additional RCS advised cooperative banks to seek this opportunity to cover maximum eligible farmers under KCC in their area of operation and achieve the targets within stipulated time.
Responding to the expectations of the minister, the Chiefs of RRBs and Cooperative Banks assured that with the active cooperation of agriculture and revenue departments, every effort would be made to achieve the target of issuing fresh KCC assigned to them.

National, July 26th, 2019: NXP India one of the largest design centers for NXP Semiconductors N.V. (NASDAQ: NXPI), today conducted its one of the most aspirational project, ‘YOUNG INNOVATOR DESIGN CHALLENGE 2019’ across its 3 centers in Noida, Bangalore and Hyderabad. Young Innovator Design Challenge was crafted specifically for the children of NXP employees, to provide them with an opportunity to learn and imbibe the knowledge and passion for electronics and software.
The event kickstarted in May 2019, which saw the participation of 115+ students across India, belonging to the 6th – 12thstandard, who were then invited for the training session at the NXP campus. During the session, the young minds were mentored by the experts about the NXP based Microbit kits and the challenge was to convert the innovative ideas into working prototypes using the Microbit Kits.

After two long months, post rigorous scrutiny and filtering at the each round, 30 children were shortlisted for the grand finale and were invited to present live demos of their prototypes to the external jury. The eager contestants were evaluated on their confidence, overall understanding of the concept, final demos , presentation and communication skills and finally 15 students emerged victorious under multiple categories. There were eminent industry experts who were invited as member of the jury for the grand finale.

While congratulating the winners, Sanjay Gupta (India Head), Vice President and India Country Manager NXP said, “We were amazed to see how the young minds could come up with such innovative concepts. NXP encourages more efforts like these to develop country’s future entrepreneurs and innovators. It was a learning process not just for the students but also for us, as there was exchange of ideas from both the sides. We are planning to come up with similar events in the future to nurture young minds and develop a symbiotic relationship between the tech industry and them”.

Innovative prototypes:
With lot of enthusiasm, kids exhibited some marvelous prototypes such as Smart ROBO car, a juvenile tracker device, automated pet feeder, food freshness detector and many more. The story behind these innovative ideas are equally interesting. For Reetam Chowdhury from Hyderabad, who won second prize for creating a water flow sensor says he came up with his idea because his grandmother used to check for water in taps every five minutes.
