Purplehed releases Burn Like the Sun, a tribute to Late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam


The creative production house acknowledges the teachings of our beloved Dr. Kalam in the brand new music video this Republic Day
Mumbai, 22nd Jan, 2016: Purplehed, a production house comprising young artists hailing from IIT and NIT have come up with their creative rendition of acknowledging Late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam this Republic Day. The brand new music video is inspired by the teachings of Late Dr. Kalam and his vision for India. The former president always preferred to call himself a teacher and one of the key visions he had was to see educated India. ‘Burn like the Sun’, the music video portrays educating and empowering people to break external and internal shackles which stop them to progress.
Ashutosh Upadhyay, popularly known by his stage name Purplehed is the Founder, of Purplehed Productions. He has penned the lyrics of ‘Burn Like the Sun’ straight from his heart. Besides singing the song himself, he also plays a crucial character in the video. Talking about his inspiration behind the video he said, “Dr. Kalam has always inspired me with his teachings. He was a man with pure heart and soul. The idea behind establishing this record label is to explore diverse music and dance art forms with the aim to inspire people with Dr. Kalam’s teachings”.
Anurag Upadhyay, Co- founder, Purplehed, has beautifully choreographed the act alongwith the modern contemporary dancer Krupa Shah. In the past, she has given credit acclaimed performances in renowned theatres like NCPA (Mumbai) and Sri Ram Centre, Delhi. Anurag and Krupa are playing the imaginary lead characters in the video.  Expressing his enthusiasm about the video Anurag said, “Choreographing this lovely piece was an extreme pleasure. This video is to reignite the spirit of knowledge in the youth in order to educate and develop India. In my opinion, everybody deserves to get basic education in this country. This is the first step towards development of the country”.
The music video is directed and edited by Jackson Garg who has also worked on the trailers of Bollywood movies like Lunchbox, Ugly, Dolly ki Doli etcHe has also edited videos for the popular YouTube channels The Viral Fever, Video Daddy and many more. He has also dabbled with acting in few advertisements. 
The production house plans to launch their incredible music video on Purplehed VEVO Channel on YouTube on account of Republic Day this year and aims it to contribute in the vision of Late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.

Sunny Leone apologizes to Sunny Deol for ‘the horrible, weird jokes’



                              
Mumbai, 22 January 2016: Sunny Leone has said “sorry” to Sunny Deol for the jokes on the two which are doing the rounds, and has even taken responsibility for them. “Mr. Sunny Deol, I just wanna say that I am so sorry, mujhe maaf kar do, kyunke itne horrible, weird jokesho gaye aapke aur mere upar – meri wajah se. So I am sorry.” (Please forgive me, because of the many horrible, weird jokes on you and about me – all because of me). She sent out this message while speaking about her upcoming adult comedy film Mastizaade on hotstar’s Malishka-anchored show M Bole Toh.

It was like a reveal-all conversation which saw Sunny reminisce about her childhood, divulging never-before details about her personal life, past and present, including the story of how she was wooed by husband Daniel, her advice for sex addicts, her idea of an ideal man, whether she thinks Indians have double standards on sex, what it takes for a woman to wear a bikini regardless of size, and more.

“I wasn’t popular; In fact there is a picture of mine floating around on the internet, which has me in a unibrow and hair all over the place! I didn’t really discover myself until I turned 19. I used to play with GI Joes and not Barbies!  I never thought of myself as hot or sexy.”

Sunny comes through with disarming honesty and poise, even as her fun-loving, girl-next-door personality shines through the interaction on M Bole Toh. She can also be seen indulging in some fun-filled activities and games on M Bole Toh, which is now live on hotstar.com

Since Sunny plays a teacher to a sex addict group in Mastizaade, she shares her definition of a sex addict and also sums it up with a bit of advice: “I think if it takes over your mind and your ability to have a normal life, then the person is a sex addict and should seek help.”

What kind of a guy would be Sunny’s ideal man? She says, “For me it has to be the whole package. It’s not just about being funny. They should have a sense of humour, they should take care of their bodies, groom themselves, and have their own sense of style. There is nothing nicer than a guy who knows his sense of style, knows what he wants, and not a guy who needs his girlfriend to say wear this T shirt and these jeans, here’re your shoes, your socks, your sneakers, out you go!”

She speaks about her marriage with Daniel, how he wooed her, and about their wedding at a Gurudwara. “Daniel is hot, sweet, funny and makes me laugh all day. We’ve been together for eight years now, and have been married for five. We got married in a Gurudwara and had a very traditional Punjabi wedding. He still turns red when I talk about him.

“Daniel is more the romantic one than I am. He definitely worked to get my attention – wherever I’d go… to a restaurant or anywhere else… he would send a dozen roses or a box of chocolates, and then when I used to go home, I’d find flowers on the steps. He was a borderline stalker! It had never happened with me before that a guy tried so much or made so many efforts to impress me. He would write me beautiful letters and stuff. At the end of the day, a girl wants a prince who treats her like a princess.”

Clearly still in love, Sunny also talks about the tradition of Karva Chauth: “I don’t keep (the) Karva Chauth (fast) for Daniel as we are more spiritual than religious.”

On being asked if Indians have double standards towards sex, Sunny says gracefully, “I think that people are a lot more accepting, a lot more open minded than we give them credit for; I am a walking proof of that. If people had double standards and were this way, I wouldn’t have been here.”

Sunny, on being asked for tips to maintain a bikini body, says: “I normally eat healthy khana, and work out a lot. But I think for a woman to be in a bikini, whatever the size,  it takes guts and a little bit of courage and confidence,” she said on a segment of the popular show.

Sunny also urges women to embrace their bodies and let go of their inhibitions. “Just love your body; who cares what size you are?! The whole world knows I have curves, so one just has to embrace it. I have been to places where I see short women, tall women, skinny women, in their bikinis. They are happy, they are proud, strutting their stuff, having a good time. I think you just have to let go.”

Kangana's 'one-take acts' impress Team Rangoon!



Kangana Ranaut, who is portraying a fearless character Nadia in 'Rangoon', has impressed Vishal Bhardwaj with her convincing performance during the shoot. The actress apparently has been delivering a very realistic performance, forcing the filmmaker to okay her shots in one take due to which the crew of the film has begun calling Kangana “One-taker actor”, a title which doesn’t come easily on a Vishal Bhardwaj set.

A source from the sets says, “Kangana excels at her work and for 'Rangoon', she has been giving excellent shots in just one take. And so now everyone has started calling her ‘one-take actor’. She is also very professional in her approach. For instance, there’s a particular scene, which required her to feed a Japanese prisoner. Since it was a prolonged shot, she ensured that she washed her hands every time and also insisted the Japanese translator on the sets conveyed it to the actor. Kangana is gelling very well with the crew too.”

'Rangoon', a biopic set against the backdrop of World War 2, stars Kangana Ranaut, Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan and the Vishal Bhardwaj film's shooting has begun in Mumbai’s Film City.

Walkwater Media’s sleeper hit Tere Bin Laden (2010) directed by Abhishek Sharma saw both commercial success and critical acclaim, with audiences raving about the satirical comedy that explored a novel concept.

After tickling the audience’s funny bones with Tere Bin Laden, Walkwater Media and director Abhishek Sharma are back with the second installment of the blockbuster franchise titled Tere Bin Laden – Dead or Alive in association with Shivantika.

The satirical comedy also stars Ali Zafar in a special role, as he returns to the franchise that marked his big Bollywood debut. The sequel also stars Piyush Mishra, Iman Crosson (who plays Barrack Obama), Sugandha Garg, Chirag Vora and Rahul Singh.

Talking about the film said director Abhishek Sharma, “Tere Bin Laden – Dead or Alive will be one of the most original sequels. It is a first of its kind sequel as the story of the first film and the second are linked but not in continuity. The structure of the film is such that you cannot call it a conventional sequel. We look forward to taking the audience by surprise”.

Mirchi Music Awards Marathi is back with its 4th edition

The Jury has considered 409 songs across 98 albums to shortlist best amongst categories”, says Jury Chairman Suresh Wadkar.  The Head of Jury Ashok Patki is accompanied by eminent maestros and veterans from the Marathi film & entertainment fraternity such as Sadhana Sargam, Praveen Davne, Aarati Ankalikar, Bela Shende, Kaushal Inamdar, Vaibhav Joshi, Manoj Pandya, Nilesh Mohrir, Rishikesh Kamerkar, Rahul Deshpande, Salil Kulkarni, Vaishali Samant, Vijay Dayal, Milind Ingle & Abhijit Pohankar met today to vote on awards across 12 categories, including upcoming categories. Ashok Patki, the Head of Jury said, “I am honored and it’s my privilege to be part of Mirchi Music Awards 2016 Marathi as a judge for 4th consecutive year.
