​​ Hyderabad showers their love on Chiranjeevi !


Superstar Chiranjeevi will be turning 60 tomorrow and the city of Hyderabad is celebrating the day with full gusto.
Images of Chiranjeevi are splashed across billboards and hoardings in Hyderabad wishing the megastar on his birthday.
Such a showcase of love is not unheard of as the south market are known to put their stars on a pedestal.
Chiranjeevi 's son Ram Charan has planned a grand soiree tomorrow to celebrate not only his father's 60th Birthday but also him completing 35 years in the Indian film industry.
The plush hotel that will host the party has commissioned high security to ensure that some of the biggest names in the south and bollywood enjoy their evening.

Pakistan recreated in Punjab for Kabir Khan's 'Phantom'



Kabir Khan's latest presentation- 'Phantom' is set against the backdrop of post 26/11 terror attacks, which shocked the whole nation.

The plot revolves around global terrorism and demanded Pakistan as a backdrop for certain scenes.

The Bajrangi Bhaijaan director was keen on shooting those scenes across border, but the unit felt that it wouldn't be safe to do so.
Citing everyone's concerns, Kabir Khan decided to recreate actual locations in Punjab.

 Cinematographer Aseem Mishra says, “We created Pakistan in Malerkotla in Punjab. Kabir, the production designer and I narrowed down Malerkotla because of its mosque, local people, narrow lanes and overall architecture, which creates the verisimilitude of a town from Pakistan. We dressed it up with posters and flags etc. I have given this section a little greenish warm feel to it. We got some really beautiful evening light in some of the scenes. When you see the film, it all looks so real.“

Interestingly,  Kathryn Bigelow too had recreated Pakistan in Chandigarh and other locations in Punjab when she shot her film, Zero Dark Thirty (2013).

The Saif and Katrina starrer-'Phantom' is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and  Sidharth Roy Kapur.

The film is all set to release on 28th of August, 2015

Kangana goes the Audrey Hepburn way.


Kangana Ranaut looks stunning in her new and never seen before avatar in Katti Batti’s song Sarphira!

Lots of attention was given to her look and costume in the Sarphira song, which is a peppy party number.The costume designer was asked to create a very different and sharp look for Kangana in that song.

The makers had asked the costume designer to go for Audrey Hepburn style which provided a vintage look, like the 40’s style.

A lot of designs were created for her out of which this one was picked up in the end, as she had come across different from other student characters in the song.

Sheetal Sharma , the costume designer of the film confirmed the news and further added"Kangana's character Payal in the film is that of an art student and hence is very experimental with her clothes."

Kangana had to look in a whacky, free spirited and a party fun mode. Her look is very bohemian and extremely contemporary.Even the colors picked had to be symbolic to happy go lucky bright shades.The look is getting noticed by her fans and audiences and we must say that it has gathered several appreciation!

Her style is very contemporary and sharp at the same time.

Yami Gautam recently shot for a magazine despite of being unwell.



Actress Yami Gautam was down with fever a night prior her magazine shoot still managed to make it for her shoot the next day.
 
The actress who was not keeping well since 2-3 days was advised by the doctor to rest for a few days before resuming her work. However her shoot for a magazine was planned since sometime and the actress had already given her word and didn’t want to break her commitment.
 
Lots of other people involved in the process of the shoot had also given & blocked their dates. The actress felt it would not be correct to cancel the shoot end minute. Understanding this the actress pushed herself to do the shoot and reached the venue the next day. 
 
However, there were some technical glitches in the shoot like in any other shoot, but Yami was very co-operative and flexible. Yami was seen smiling throughout, the shoot wet on for 7 hours until she and the team were not fully convinced about getting good shots and were satisfied!

Spokesperson adds, Yami is very particular about her work commitments. Once she finalises her dates, she tries to not change them. This is why she made sure to go for her shoot this time too
 
She was seen taking her medication in midst of the shoot to keep herself going through out the day.
 
Yami is dedicated and passionate towards her work even if it is her health coming in her way.The actress kept her health issues aside and focused on her shoot.
 
A good productive day gives Yami a good high and she pushes herself completely for it. When contacted Yami's spokesperson confirmed the news. 

The actress is currently busy with her next film shoot with T-series.

Phantom's Hariz Saeed ready to take on Hafiz Saeed



Kabir Khan's action thriller, Phantom, which has its trigger in Mumbai's 2611 attacks, is gearing up for an opening next Friday

Shahnawaz Pradhan, who play the baddie Hariz Saeed in Phantom is rueing the fact that thanks to Hafiz Saeed's hate speeches, the film has been banned in Pakistan and will not reach as many people as he'd have liked.

With temperatures rising on either side of the border and fears of the bilateral NSA talks being called off, the acrimony between India and Pakistan is at an all-time high. 

“But I can confidently say that after the first show, pirated copies will make their way into the homes of Pakistani's avid Bollywood fans,“ says the actor, who plays Hariz Saeed, a character modelled on Hafiz Saeed, the founder leader of the banned terror outfit Lashkar-eTaiba, which masterminded the audacious attacks.

Given the political tensions, Pradhan has been told to lie low and not reveal his get-up. But despite the change in name, no one will be left in any doubts about his character's muse once witnessing him on celluloid.

The film is an adaptation of S.Hussain Zaidi's recent novel (with Gabriel Khan), Mumbai Avengers. It is set five years after the attacks, when a retired army officer spearheads a covert mission to seek out and kill these terror masterminds.David Headley, the PakistaniAmerican LeT terrorist who is currently serving a 35-year-sentence, and Sajid Mir, allegedly Headley's handler, have been named in the film. But Hafiz's identity has been camouflaged under a new identity, Hariz Saeed.Zakiur-Rehman also has a new name, Sabauddin Umvi.

“They are the four main villains. I have a little more footage than the others and given the media attention, my role is likely to get highlighted once the film releases,“ admits Pradhan, who studied videos available on YouTube to pick up subtle nuances that would add colour to his character.“Hafiz blinks his eyes a lot, his kurta has no buttons and his tongue peeks out when he's talking.“

It's been a 25-year journey for the actor, studded with milestones like the tele epic, Alif Laila, and Anil Kapoor's TV series 24. “Bangistan released recently and Phantom will follow. I'm sure this film and the performance will be talked about but it doesn't reflect my personal views. I believe, like the Pakistani production-in-charge I met in Mauritius recently when I was there for a shoot, the common man on both sides of the border has a lot of warmth towards each other. It's the politicians jo dukaan khol ke baithe hain.“

Talvar's trailer shifted its trails!




Buzz is that there was a last minute shift of location for the trailer launch of Talvar.

The producers of the film had planned to launch the trailer of the film in Noida as the story is loosely inspired from the Aarushi Talwar murder case. 

But just two days before the launch, the decision was taken to move the event to Mumbai. 

A source said, “The administration apparently told the producers it was a sensitive issue and it would be advisable to move it away from reality and launch it in the film world. So, the decision was taken to shift it to Mumbai.” 

Talvar has been directed by Meghna Gulzar and has Irrfan Khan and Tabu playing the main leads in it. 
Apparently, the project has been approved by Aarushi’s parents, Rajesh and Nupur Talwar. Konkona Sen Sharma and Sohum Shah will be playing the parents’ roles while Irrfan is the investigating officer on the case. Tabu is Aarushi’s aunt in the film. 

Talvar is scheduled to release on October 2.

‘Dhaval is my kid’ - Boney Kapoor



Dhaval Gada was all smiles at the recent trailer launch of his forthcoming co-production ‘Singh is Bling’ starring Akshay Kumar. Besides the amazing response that his film’s trailer was getting, what had the young producer elated were the words of praise coming from senior producer Boney Kapoor, who specially came at the event to encourage and cheer for him.
Dhaval has previously worked with Kapoor and Prabhu Dheva in the Salman Khan-starrer ‘Wanted’ (2009). And now, with Dhaval co-producing ‘Singh is Bling’, Prabhu Dheva directing it, and the senior Kapoor lending his presence at the event, the trio was seen together again. Kapoor not only cheered for Dhaval, but he also praised him for having achieved much at such a young age. Kapoor said, “Dhaval mera baccha hai, he was working with us, Prabhu Deva and me during Wanted. He is presenting good films at such a young age… Mark my words, yeh mujhse bhi aage jaayega.” No appreciation comes without good work and honest intentions, and it is clear from Kapoor’s words that Dhaval has all the support from him and the industry for his bright future.
