‘Wild’ a biographical film based on Cheryl Strayed's 2012 memoir Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail. Director Jean-Marc Vallée and screen writer Nick Hornby create authentic atmosphere of a hiker’s journey and carve a painstaking moments on camera which watching is a meaningful experience.

The film does not delve into any commercialization of the entire journey of Cheryl Strayed to hike for more than a thousand miles of the Pacific Crest Trail instead takes us with her for a out of this world experience which this hikers go through to get into the nirvana of nature cutting themselves out of the social connection.

Technically and emotionally the film has an evenhanded panache to maneuver throughout in Strayed single mindedness decision to overcome the tragedies which she has gone through and find her way to hiking for rejuvenation of her emotional prowess.

It is Witherspoon [ already nominated for best actress in Academy Awards] who has gone into the skin and mind of Strayed and bestow a supreme performance and effort to show the entire journey of a tormented young woman’s will to triumph over the predicament of her mother’s untimely demise and separation from her husband.

Film is strictly not for those who seek to watch an adventurous side of hikers but a serious look into the mind of these loners why they divulge into such trail to salvage out of the disturbing life and to get the sense of right and wrong facts of living.

Mumbai. BMW Group India introduced the new sub-brand BMW i in India with the launch of the BMW i8, the most progressive sports car of its time, at an exclusive event in Mumbai.

The first plug-in hybrid vehicle from the sub-brand BMW i, the BMW i8 is available at BMW i dealerships in Mumbai, New Delhi and Chennai as a CBU (Completely Built-Up) unit from today onwards.

The BMW i8 embodies a revolutionary, future-focused interpretation of the driving pleasure for which BMW is renowned. It is purpose-designed as a plug-in hybrid sports car offering agile performance and outstanding efficiency.

The BMW i8 is available at an all India ex-showroom price of INR 2,29,00,000.

Price prevailing at the time of invoicing will be applicable. Delivery will be made ex-showroom. Ex-showroom prices (inclusive of VAT@12.5%) but excludes Road Tax, RTO statutory taxes/fees, Insurance and Octroi (if applicable). VAT over and above 12.5%, if applicable, will be charged extra. The BMW i8 features a completely new, exciting sports car design that includes comprehensive, sophisticated aerodynamics features and environment friendly materials. The fluid lines and flat silhouette of the BMW i8 give a distinctive impression of powerful forward thrust that reveals its intriguing dynamics even when it is at a standstill. Everything about this car is designed for honed aerodynamics paired with the highest aesthetic standards. The extremely broad BMW kidney grille stretches over to the slim headlights, accentuating the width of the BMW i8 and its road-focused stance. Highlights such as the handle-free ‘scissor’ doors and strongly expressive LED headlights reveal at first glance a compelling vision of the future – today.

An exterior designed to perfection signals an interior that is similarly compelling to the last degree. The interior of the BMW i8 takes its cue from the fluid, dynamic exterior with a reprise of the layered surfaces that underpin the unique design of this car. Every feature in the cockpit is systematically focused on the driver. The centre console is angled towards the driver at twelve degrees, putting all displays, instruments and controls in their direct line of sight.

The intelligent plug-in hybrid system in the BMW i8 combines the benefits of an electric motor and a petrol engine into an extraordinary driving experience: highest efficiency and maximum dynamics are simultaneously possible.

The electric drive, a powerful 96 kW (131 hp) lithium-ion battery, is located on the front axle. The rear axle is driven by BMW TwinPower Turbo 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol engine with 170 kW (231 hp) of peak performance. The petrol engine combined with the electrical boost of the hybrid system guarantees typical BMW driving pleasure. Together, the two units deliver a total of 362 hp, accelerating the BMW i8 from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds using all four wheels in the process. Running on battery power, it achieves the top speed of 120 km/h with a maximum range of 35 kilometers. In conjunction with the combustion engine, the electric motor takes the e-powered supercar to up to 250 km/h, and depending on driving style the driving range can be up to 600 kilometers. Another impressive characteristic is record low fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, at an average of 47.45 km/l and emission of 50.36 g/km.

The BMW i8 was conceived from the very beginning to meet the demands of a hybrid sports car. A distinctive feature conceived exclusively for BMW i is the LifeDrive vehicle architecture which significantly contributes towards weight optimisation. It includes the Life module comprising passenger cell made from carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) and the Drive module comprising an aluminium frame for the combustion engine and electric motor, the battery pack and the suspension. With BMW eDrive, the new BMW drive technology, the battery can be charged from any mains socket with a BMW i Wallbox or while driving. A standard accessory, the BMW i Wallbox enables the high-voltage battery to be recharged in less than two-and-a-half hours using a conventional 220 V mains socket.

The four-wheel drive system in the BMW i8 can deploy the power reserves through all four wheels for added traction and control. It uses the high-torque output of the electric motor and the performance of the petrol engine, which arrives via the specially modified six-speed Steptronic transmission. At any time, in any gear, the transmission collaborates perfectly with the engine, enabling it to develop its full power and efficiency.

The Intelligent Energy Management and the driving modes have been tuned perfectly to offer the driver a choice of five different driving modes: the ‘D’ transmission setting in COMFORT and ECO PRO mode, the SPORT mode and the eDRIVE mode for all-electric driving (with a choice of COMFORT or ECO PRO). The vehicle always starts in COMFORT mode, with a balance between sporty and efficient driving styles. Move the gear lever to SPORT mode, and the car automatically becomes more dynamic while when driving in ECO PRO mode, the driving range increases thanks to a particularly efficient driving style that optimises the energy use of both power sources.

The BMW i8 embodies BMW EfficientDynamics in its purest form, thanks to intelligent lightweight design, cutting-edge aerodynamics and a plug-in hybrid drive system with BMW eDrive.

With BMW ConnectedDrive solutions, the BMW i8 boasts a high degree of connectivity – for an intelligent and sustainable form of mobility like never before. These include the next generation of BMW iDrive (the on-board Driver Information System) with touch controller and handwriting recognition, BMW Navigation Professional (integrated Global Positioning System – GPS) with 8.8-inch colour display, 3D maps, full-colour BMW Head-Up Display; Connectivity through Bluetooth and USB devices and Harman Kardon Surround Sound system. Park Distance Control (PDC) rear and front along with rear view camera come as standard features.

Badlapur gets fantastic response and support from critics & industry!

So called as the “twisted entertainment” which is all set to release tomorrow has bowled the critics over with Varun Dhawan’s one of the most anticipated film Badlapur.

The makers, who recently scheduled the screening of the film for the industry folks and the critics, are being flooded with congratulatory messages all over! It seems that the film has certainly justified the ample of buzz that it created for itself with the very first release of the teaser.

Kingsman's Colin Firth breaks a tooth while filming!!

Kingsman actor Colin Firth who has won an Oscar, a Golden Globe and two BAFTAs is all set to showcase a never seen before side with his much awaited action film KINGSMAN SECRET SERVICE releasing on 27th February in English and Hindi!!

Based upon the acclaimed comic book and directed by Matthew Vaughn (Kick Ass, X-Men First Class), SECRET SERVICE tells the story of Kingsman; a super-secret spy organization that recruits an unrefined but promising street kid into his agency’s ultra-competitive training program just as a global threat emerges from a twisted tech genius with the cast of Colin Firth, Sir Michael Caine and Samuel Jackson.

The 54-year-old actor, who got an Oscar for 2010's The King's Speech, was recently during the Kingsman promotions whether he sustained any injuries during the shoot.

"I broke a tooth, which was probably the one that was most troublesome. I collided with a hard object. I don’t know whether it was a gun or a pole? I don’t think I particularly noticed [the pain] until later." said Colin Firth laughingly.

Kapil Sharma mobbed on sets of debut film Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon in Rajasthan!!

TV’s superstar and comic king Kapil Sharma who is currently shooting for his much awaited debut film Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon , produced by Ratan Jain, Ganesh Jain , Abbas - Mustan under their banner Venus Records & Tapes Pvt. Ltd  in Association with Abbas Mustan Films Production Pvt. Ltd, had a nerve wracking glimpse of just how popular he really is!!

While shooting at a place in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, a huge crowd of diehard fans steadily kept accumulating near the set, making the shoot difficult to continue!!Kapil was filming a song sequence with Simran Kaur Mundi, and the shoot got disrupted quite soon, as the fans from the crowd kept entering the set!! After hours of disturbance, they finally had to call the local police to help disperse the 8000 strong crowd!!

The film marks the Bollywood Debut of Kapil Sharma, Sai Lokur and also stars Elli Avram, Manjari Fadnis, Simran Kaur Mundi, Varun Sharma, Sharat Saxena,Supriya Pathak, Manoj Joshi, Jamie Lever  (daughter of Johnny Lever) ,Charli  & Arbaaz Khan.

The film is not only produced but also directed by Abbas-Mustan & will see the talented duo venture into comedy genre after a long time!

ROY collects Rs 28.68 Crore in 3 days!!

After the successful start at BO in 2015 with BABY, Bhushan Kumar’s ROY received an impressive first day opening of Rs. 10.40cr. ROY sees the leading actors of Bollywood Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and Jacqueline Fernandez coming together for the first time in a romantic action thriller.

ROY continues its forward march and collects Rs 11.16 crore on the 2^nd day (14th February) and Rs 7.12 Crore on the third day (15^th February).

The total amount sums up to Rs 28.68 crore in just 3 days!!

Directorial debut of Vikramjit Singh, the film has received a great response and support from the audience on its first day. The film songs that garnered great response and are topping the music charts helped the marketing and promotions of the film and gave the right buzz for the film. Arjun who is seen as a filmmaker and Jacqueline who plays a double role intrigued the audience and for Ranbir Kapoor fans his character of ROY was a surprise treat. , Bhushan Kumar is already on cloud nine with the first day openings. ROY that was made in the budget of Rs. 30 Crores with additional Rs. 10 Crores for PnA, has already sold its satellite rights at Rs. 25 Crores, overseas rights for Rs. 6 Crores and its music has also already earned another Rs. 6 Crores. With figures yet to be expected from All India box office collection, Home Video, internet and terrestrial rights the film looks like a definite profit film for the producers!

रॉय का बॉक्स ऑफिस पर पहला वीकेंड

रॉय का बॉक्स ऑफिस पर पहला वीकेंड अच्छा रहा। रणबीर कपूर और हिट गानों का फिल्मको लाभ मिला। पहले दिन फिल्म ने 10.40 करोड़ रुपये का व्यवसाय किया। 2015 में पहलेदिन के ये सर्वाधिक कलेक्शन है। दूसरे दिन फिल्म के कलेक्शन बढ़े और फिल्म ने 11.16करोड़ रुपये कलेक्ट किए। रविवार के दिन भारत-पाकिस्तान के क्रिकेट मैच से कलेक्शनप्रभावित हुए। फिल्म 7.12 करोड़ रुपये ही कलेक्ट पर पाई। तीन दिन में फिल्म ने 28.68करोड़ रुपये का कलेक्शन किया है। 

चालीस करोड़ की लागत से तैयार 'रॉय' को विभिन्न राइट्स से तीस करोड़ रुपये के लगभगपहले ही आ चुके हैं। थिएटर्स के कलेक्शन भी अच्छे हैं। कुल मिलाकर निर्माता के लिए 'रॉय'फायदे का सौदा साबित हो सकती है।
