CAHO launches its initiative to improve patient’s safety and quality healthcare in India

Prominent hospitals of Mumbai join hands to address challenges of Quality Healthcare in India

Mumbai, 28th March, 2019: Creating positive outcomes for quality healthcare and upgrading patient safety standards in India will be the key agenda of the 5th International CAHOCON 2019 to be held in Mumbai for the first time. Themed around Healthcare Quality Should Impact Outcome, the conference will be held on April 13th -14th 2019 and is organized by Consortium of Accredited Healthcare Organizations (CAHO) to bring all accredited hospitals together. More than 600 delegates and renowned doctors will be sharing their insights at the prestigious conference. The initiative is supported by The International Society for Quality in Healthcare (ISQua), The Asian Society for Quality in Healthcare (ASQua) and Quality Council of India (QCI).
The initiative was launched in a press conference at Nanavati Super Speciality Hospital by esteemed doctors, Dr. PM Bhujang, President, Association of Hospitals, Dr. Rajendra Patankar, COO, Nanavati Super Speciality Hospital, Mr. Joy Chakraborty, COO, P D Hinduja Hospital & Medical Research Centre, Dr. Hiren Ambegaokar, CEO, S L Raheja Hospital, Dr. Sujit Chatterjee, CEO, L H Hiranandani Hospital, Dr. Anupam Karmakar, CEO, D Y Patil Hospital and Dr. Deepak Patkar, Medical Director, Nanavati Super Speciality Hospital.
“The aim of this conference is to bring all stakeholders across the healthcare spectrum on a common platform. There is an urgent need to audit healthcare delivery standards and accredit healthcare organizations based on the quality of healthcare they provide to patients. This conference aims at finding the ways and means to build a robust healthcare infrastructure in the country that adheres to global healthcare quality standards,” stated Dr. PM Bhujang, President, Association of Hospitals.
“Quality healthcare forms the foundation of a healthy society and a growing economy. We need to ensure that there is no compromise with healthcare standards and people from all strata of society have access to best healthcare systems. Through an accredited healthcare ecosystem, we intend to standardize healthcare procedures and train healthcare professionals in practices and processes to provide state-of-the-art healthcare to the citizens of the country,” stated Dr. Rajendra Patankar, COO, Nanavati Super Speciality Hospital.
Workshops and training programs will be organized across all the major hospitals in Mumbai for staff involved in clinical, diagnostics, nursing, and general and support services. A separate Masterclass has been organized on April 12 in leading hospitals of Mumbai including Nanavati Super Specialty Hospital, Hiranandani Hospital, Bombay Hospital, Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Hinduja Hospital, Saifee Hospital, D Y Patil Hospital and Wockhardt Hospital. Topics to be covered include Process Re-engineering, Hospital planning, Nursing Communication, Cyber Security and Infrastructural Safety.
With a view to sensitizing medical personnel to the changing requirements and understand them, CAHO has been conducting programs to train doctors, nurses and administrators. CAHO intends to increase the frequency of these programs to provide training in the areas of quality implementers, fire safety, hospital infection control, disaster management and many others which have already become very popular.
Leveraging social media is very important to increase the outreach towards stakeholders across the healthcare ecosystem. CAHO has an active online presence through its website and Facebook. They also conduct regular webinars. Trained persons are regularly interacting on WhatsApp groups which are strictly for academic activity.

Endemol Shine Group, DoveTail Media and acclaimed film director Shekhar Kapur join forces to bring best-selling novels The Ibis Trilogy to worldwide market

Global content creator, producer and distributor Endemol Shine Group today announces the development of a major high-end production for the international market.

Shekhar Kapur, the award-winning film director behind ‘Elizabeth’ and ‘Elizabeth: The Golden Age’ as well as Bollywood smash hits ‘Mr. India’, ‘Masoom’ and ‘Bandit Queen’ has signed a deal with Endemol Shine Group to bring to life the trilogy of best-selling novels by acclaimed author Amitav Ghosh.

Ghosh’s masterpiece, which begins with ‘Sea of Poppies’, continues with ‘River of Smoke’ and concludes with ‘Flood of Fire’, has already achieved classic status and is seen as a landmark of twenty-first century literature.

The agreement also brings together Endemol Shine Group companies, Artists Studio (‘The Fall’) and Endemol Shine India (‘Test Case’) who will produce the drama in partnership with TV packaging consultancy service DoveTale Media who initially acquired the rights to the books.

Justin Pollard, whose credits include the blockbuster ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ franchise as well as hit television series ‘Vikings’ and ‘The Tudors’, is on board as Historical Consultant and Story Editor. Set in mid-nineteenth century Asia, the series will interweave the lives of vividly drawn characters against the backdrop of the opium wars between Britain, India and China.  The team is in the process of lining up a lead writer.

UBM - Informa pledges to cover the Earth’s Equator


With Walk the World, a walkathon for networking and to raise charity

Mumbai, March 18th 2019: UBM-Informa, a leading B2B information services group and the largest B2B event’s organiser globally, is set to organise the first Walk the World, the organisation’s flagship annual charity event on March 20 at Marine Drive, Mumbai, in the form of a walkathon. Similar events will simultaneously take place in Delhi, Chennai and Bengaluru.

Each year, Walk the World encourages, involves colleagues from every Informa office around the globe to participate in a walkathon in an iconic part of their city to raise funds for a charity of their choice. With participation from offices in more than 20 countries across the globe, Walk the World (WTW) aims to cover more than the length of the earth’s equator and walk an aggregate of 60,000 kms, i.e (the actual length is 40,075 kms) and raise approximately GBP 2,50,000 for charity. Given the recent combination of UBM and Informa, with all its divisions, this will be the most ambitious and grand Walk the World, shadowing last year’s aggregate of 40,000 kms – with new entrant Mumbai on March 20, will make it so. The charity of choice for the Mumbai edition is to raise funds for the Education of the Differently Abled where in the organization has have tied up with the NGO, Samarthanam Trust, which has organized similar campaigns for with giant conglomerations such as Microsoft, L&T Technology Services, RBL Services, Oracle, Citi Foundation, Societi Generale, and HDFC Life, among several others. Many beneficiaries of the charity will also participate in Walk The World.

Impressive participation by Goa Tourism at BTL, Lisbon, Portugal which commenced on 13th March 2019




Panjim, March 14: 2019 - Goa Tourism puts up an impressive show at  BTL (Bolsa de Tourismo de Lisboa) in Lisbon,   Portugal  being held from March 13-17, 2019. The five-day event which began on 13th March is receiving an excellent response with market leaders increasing their stand size followed by participation from a cross section of global and Indian travel and tourism markets.

The Hon’ble Indian Ambassador to Portugal, Ms. K. Nandini Singla called on the  Goa Tourism  delegation  led by Mr. Sanjiv Gadkar, Director, Department  of Tourism, Govt.  of Goa.  Ms. Singla expressed  delight on  Goa Tourism’s participation  at the Bolsa de Tourismo de Lisboa and  for setting up an attractive  and  impressive pavilion showcasing the best that Goa Tourism has to offer to the world.  

Ms. Singla who had visited Goa last year and  met  the Hon’ble Tourism Minister, Mr.  Manohar Ajgaonkar, once again  re-assured  the Goa Tourism  delegation of  her continued support  and pursuing   bilateral ties between Goa and  Portugal through tourism,  sports and  other areas. As part of this initiative, Ms. Singla also urged  Goa Tourism to initiate  talks with APAVT, an association of Portuguese travel and tourism agencies which could  facilitate and  boost footfalls  to Goa in the near future.

Mr.  Jose Ulisses Correia e  Silva, the Hon’ble Prime Minister of Cape Verde who also visited  Goa Tourism’s pavilion at the on-going BTL, Lisbon,  showed  keen  interest in Goa as a tourism destination having  a plethora of  facets. He expressed his desire to engage in  bilateral   relations for an exchange  of tourism ties  between  the two regions.

Goa Tourism has set up an attractive pavilion at the BTL,  Lisbon showcasing all its new tourism products and services , organized presentations and interactions with bigwigs from the tourism  industry which received tremendous response from international buyers, tour operators, travel agents, wedding planners, corporate travel decision makers, potential investors in the field of hospitality, leisure and travel industry.

Several  bloggers and  travel writers visited BTL and obtained information on Goa Tourism services and other facilities. Goa Tourism officials  are engaging in B2B  meetings and are networking   with prominent tour operators during the event. Many bloggers  have also visited the Goa stall. Our Digital initiatives have empowered nearly 1.5 crore students with e-scholarship worth 5000 along with our initiative of Ayushman Bharat, 50 crore Indians are going to get assistance. In November 2016, there were only 4000 transactions per day on BHIM UPI app and in December 2018 it has reached 2 crores transaction per day, this is being propelled by people living in smaller cities”.

“Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad further stated that there was a time when India consisted of only 2 mobile manufacturers and today there are 127 mobile manufacturers making India the second largest mobile manufacturing country only second after China. Our idea is to make India the biggest manufacturing hub in the field of electronics with one crore employment in the electronics sector and 35-40 lakhs in the software sector”.

“India has become the 2nd largest start-up movement in the world with the valuation of Unicorn is higher than in the UK. Concluding, he added that any data imperialism will not be acceptable, we are creating India’s IT(Information Technology) + IT (India’s Talent) = ITIT, India could be a $ 3 Trillion economic in the next 4 to 5 years that that is the goal we have set”.

Amit Malviya, IT Chief, BJP shared views on the digital impact on consumers, "The disruption in social media has caused a lot of change and has given easy access to consumers to share their views and today it is so powerful that it has become a mainstream platform. BJP dominates the digital space; hence we are often accused of things that we haven't done like spreading fake news which can be interpreted wrongly. Today, there are several platforms and millions of people using apps like TikTok, Sharechat, Facebook. Such apps keep tier2, tier3 cities well informed and cannot be deceived by fake news".

Speaking on ‘Is India 5G ready’?  Rajan Mathew, Director General, COAI said, “ India is still behind in the race for 5G, there is tremendous long-term investment required to get our 4G networks in shape, keeping in mind capacity and quality issues. We are looking at $ 100 billion investment requirement which will primarily be driven by the private sector and unless issues of financial stress are dealt with, we are far from reaching the 5G era. We seek the government’s attention to this, allowing telecom players to make essential investments to take the country towards a robust 4G and then question ourselves, are we 5G ready?

Deeply inspired by Salvador Dali, his newest series of oil on canvas models surrealism at its core immersing a spiritual and meditative feature. This new promising series is blended with Hindu culture and the land of Kabir - Kaashi.

One of the most captivating pieces named “Kaashi Nath” is inspired from the tranquil phenomenon at Kashi where the sun rises, the bells ring & the holy fire purifies the air. The yellow sapphire surrounded with rose cuts set in platinum, circled by enamel and baroque pearls symbolises the serenity at Kaashi during the sunrise aarti on the Ganga ghats

Another riveting piece from this collection is named the “Circle of Life” which embodies the entangled nature of life, death and infinite nature of energy. The flamingos – a powerful animal totem in the spiritual universe, symbolizes the release of old emotions and represents new experiences that journey along the circle of life. Taking inspiration from this, is the ethereal pair of earrings crafted in platinum combined with pink gold in alternating design, depicting eternity. The flamingo wings are fabricated in Platinum & Rose gold embedded with Rose Cut Solitaires outlined with hallow of brilliant cut diamonds

This piece of art also extends inspiration to another striking pendant symbolic of the blue moon in the painting. As the blue moon glows in the light of the Sun, while the flamingios dance happily...blue sapphire set in pink gold dangles from the radial star of marquise rose cuts set in platinum centered with yellow sapphire.

Speaking on this specially curated collection Rajiv Popley said, "I have expressed my passion by creating art-on-canvas that will adorn the wall & then translated this into platinum ornaments as art to be worn & flaunted".


In a tribute to Kabir, Rajiv interprets the famous poem– “I said to my longing heart, what is this river you want to cross? 
There are no travellers before you, there is no road. Do you see anyone moving or resting on that bank? There is no river at all, and no boat, and no boatman. There is not even a rope to tow the boat, and no one to pull it. There is no earth, no sky, no time, no thing, no shore, no ford!” on canvas.

Rajiv Popley is a third Generation Jeweller who is passionate about design & colours. He expresses himself not only through gemstones & metal but also through Oil & Canvas.

This love for colours journeyed through his childhood and matured into a passion in the recent years. Since then he has been painting & displaying his works Solo. He has exhibited at curated shows at both International & national venues namely, Artexpo New York, Jaipur Art Summit, Bombay Art Society & now at D/code Design Show 2019.
