Kangana's 'one-take acts' impress Team Rangoon!



Kangana Ranaut, who is portraying a fearless character Nadia in 'Rangoon', has impressed Vishal Bhardwaj with her convincing performance during the shoot. The actress apparently has been delivering a very realistic performance, forcing the filmmaker to okay her shots in one take due to which the crew of the film has begun calling Kangana “One-taker actor”, a title which doesn’t come easily on a Vishal Bhardwaj set.

A source from the sets says, “Kangana excels at her work and for 'Rangoon', she has been giving excellent shots in just one take. And so now everyone has started calling her ‘one-take actor’. She is also very professional in her approach. For instance, there’s a particular scene, which required her to feed a Japanese prisoner. Since it was a prolonged shot, she ensured that she washed her hands every time and also insisted the Japanese translator on the sets conveyed it to the actor. Kangana is gelling very well with the crew too.”

'Rangoon', a biopic set against the backdrop of World War 2, stars Kangana Ranaut, Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan and the Vishal Bhardwaj film's shooting has begun in Mumbai’s Film City.

The cast - Manish Paul, Pradhuman Singh (who reprises his role as Osama lookalike), Sikandar (who plays a double role) dressed in their respective characters, producer Pooja Shetty and Aarti Shetty (Walkwater Media) and director Abhishek Sharma launched the entertaining trailer of Tere Bin Laden – Dead or Alive at a suburban multiplex in Mumbai.  

The satirical comedy also stars Ali Zafar in a special role, as he returns to the franchise that marked his big Bollywood debut. The sequel also stars Piyush Mishra, Iman Crosson (who plays Barrack Obama), Sugandha Garg, Chirag Vora and Rahul Singh.

Talking about the film said director Abhishek Sharma, “Tere Bin Laden – Dead or Alive will be one of the most original sequels. It is a first of its kind sequel as the story of the first film and the second are linked but not in continuity. The structure of the film is such that you cannot call it a conventional sequel. We look forward to taking the audience by surprise”.

Mirchi Music Awards Marathi is back with its 4th edition

In a year that saw Marathi film music surpassing many barriers of excellence and popularity, Radio Mirchi, India’s hottest radio station is back with the 4th edition of Mirchi Music Awards Marathi powered by Idea. The 4th edition will recognize and honour excellence in music with jury awards for films released in 2015.

Huma to catch up on the movies she missed.


Huma Qureshi has been quite busy shooting for British film-maker Gurinder Chadha’s next as well as a Malayalam film titled, White. 

She was also required to shuttle between London, UK, and Jodhpur, Rajasthan, for work for 150 days.

The actor has now returned to her home in Mumbai, but instead of relaxing, she is bingeing on movies. 


She wants to head out to watch latest releases like Bajirao Mastani (2015) and Dilwale (2015). 


Meanwhile, Huma, who has a huge collection of films at home, says she has been staying up till late in the night to watch new movies on DVD as well.

Huma says, “I have missed watching some really good films. So, I have been on a movie marathon of sorts, and I am trying to catch up with as many as possible, especially all the Oscar-nominated ones.”

The film is helmed by director Nishikant and is as much about kicks and punches as it is about heart tugging emotion since a seven year old child is the catalyst for the one-man army going into an over drive . Set in Goa, Mumbai, Pune & Seychelles, the film is an adrenaline pumping action film embellished with a strong emotional story of the relationship between a father who never had a daughter and a seven year old daughter who never had a father.

Divya Khosla Kumar’s second directorial venture Sanam Re is all set to release on the 12th of February and the entire crew is leaving no stone unturned in making this romantic film a grand success. However, the word on the block is that the lead pair of the film Pulkit Samrat and Yami Gautam had exceptional terms when it came to the steamy- kissing scenes, according to insiders the duo agreed to indulge in the loving making scenes only with one another as they have a certain comfort level which lead to turning up the heat on the sets of the film. A certain someone who knows all the tinsel town gossip revealed that Pulkit firmly disagreed to do a kissing scene with co-actor Urvashi Rautela and Yami too had palpably refused a kissing sequence with Ayushmann Khurrana for a certain music video. Well we hope that their off screen chemistry looks as good on screen too.
