The completion of this landmark marks a hattrick for COLORS whose shows like Balika Vadhu and Uttaran have also reached the million mark. Celebrating this achievement, the team of Sasural Simar Ka has joined hands with Hong Kong Tourism Board to present a special shoot and audience engagement initiative which brings about an incredible twist in the lives of the lead protagonist Simar and her estranged husband Prem. The 1000-episode festivities commence on the channel starting Monday, 13th October, 2014 at 7.30 PM.

Sasural Simar Ka has received constant ratings since the show first launched in April, 2011. The show has raked in an average of 4.6 TVTs with 86 weeks as the leader in the7.30 PM time slot. The success of the show has ensured that the show has been syndicated across domestic and international markets in over 10 languages. To thank the audience for their endless support, COLORS has introduced a contest that promises to enhance viewer engagement. Kunal Kohli announces Phir Se !


Writer, director and now actor Kunal Kohli announces “Phir Se”, a film that marks his big-screen debut as an actor, having made his mark as director with films like Hum Tum and Fanaa.

Bombay Film Company Ltd’s Phir Se produced by Shiv Kumar ,will be directed by Kunal Kohli and Ajay Bhuyan and deals with the complexities of a new romance and a second attempt at a happily ever after.

Also starring Jennifer Winget of Dil Mill Gayye , Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka and more recently Saraswatichandra fame ,Phir Se is set and will be shot in London.

The film goes on floors November this year and is schedule to release May 2015.

The film also stars Rajit Kapoor, Dalip Tahil, Kanwaljeet Singh & Sushmita Mukherjee Bundela. Music by Jeet Ganguly, Meet Brothers & Mithoon. Music on T Series.

For all the girls who go weak-kneed at the sight of Johnny Depp, they might just be soon falling head over heels in love Darshan Kumar. The actor who won the hearts of all in MARY KOM opposite Priyanka Chopra recently did a shoot wherein he looks a lot like the Hollywood hunk.
The actor who will next be seeing in NH10 with Anushka Sharma was recently shot by Atul Kasbekar’s assistant, and the resultant uncanny resemblance with Depp, staggered all!

When asked about it, Darshan Kumar says, “Since my schooling years to wherever I have worked there have been instances where people have complimented me saying I look like Johnny Depp. I frankly, always took it with a pinch of salt, after all, Johnny Depp is one of the best actors in the world, his repertoire of work is formidable and his looks are well, much appreciated. But then when I met Atul Sir, he too said the same thing, and somehow that meant a lot to me. So we all got together planning a photo shoot, and while at it, his assistant Abhijeet Parker got an idea! He made me try shooting in a look that was very close to that of Depps, in one of his shoots. We tried it and what you see is the outcome!”

Truly, the resemblance is uncanny!  And yet, all Dharshan has to say is, “It is a great to be compared to the best, but of course, it would much rather be known as Darshan Kumar. If God willing, I get famous, I would rather be famous with my own name!”

Our very own Singham and cinema icon Ajay Devgn has always been at the forefront of noble causes like 'Support the Girl Child', donated cars for Mumbai Police Patrolling and has always contributed to the society in his own inimitable way.
Well! this time the actor has gone a step ahead and was seen leading from the front yet again by supporting the Mumbai Police in their 'Daan Utsav' campaign for rehabilitation of begging families and education of their children.
This noble cause was inaugurated recently at an event at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in Mumbai with Devgn's presence. Last year the Mumbai Police had organized the celebration of Daan Utsav at Birla Matoshri Hall for supporting the cause of elderly citizens in association with Dignity Foundation.
This year the objective is to start a long term initiative to help the children and women of Faase Pardhi and Waghri tribes who are begging on the streets of South Mumbai.
Ajay Devgn was seen supporting the cause and talking about the long term objectives like creating a beggar free zone in South Mumbai by rehabilitating children/families begging on the street. Children will be rehabilitated through non-profit organizations, so that they can pursue education and are given optimum opportunities and a holistic growth via Salaam Bank Trust & Sahaara Charitable Society.
Well we hope not only the film fraternity but citizens of India too join and support this noble cause post this news.

Ace director and actor Satish Kaushik was bowled over by Harsh’s performance and said “He has got a beautiful voice, a very good screen presence. India, Oct 13 – In its eighth edition this year, McAfee’s Most Sensational Celebrity survey has found Bollywood’s Alia Bhatt topping the charts in Indian cyberspace. As part of the program, McAfee researched popular culture’s most famous people to reveal the riskiest celebrity across the web and unveil the 2014 rendition of its ‘Most Sensational Celebrity’ research.  Alia trumps Priyanka Chopra, who topped the list in 2013.

As cybercriminals exploit consumers’ need to be updated on celebrity news, McAfee’s survey highlights the pitfalls of the trend. These criminals capitalize on the public’s fascination to lure them to sites loaded with malware, which in turn allows them to steal passwords and personal information. This year, searching for a ‘celebrity name’ coupled with search terms like ‘wallpaper’, ‘videos’, ‘free download’, ‘hot pictures’, ‘selfie’ and ‘internet memes’ have resulted in instances of malware-laden sites.

Commenting on the findings of the study, Venkat Krishnapur, Vice-President of Engineering- Consumer, Business Group, McAfee India Centre, McAfee, Part of Intel Security said, “By including the names of popular celebrities in a website's search tags, consumers are completely unaware of the security risks that exist which can severely infect their computers, devices and steal personal data. Cybercriminals are consistently looking for ways to take advantage of consumer interest around new movies, TV shows, as well as the latest celebrity-driven trends. For e.g. the selfie craze that has gripped Bollywood, the ice bucket challenge videos or internet memes created for sheer fun.”

  • Don’t “log in” or provide other information: If you receive a message, text or email or visit a third-party website that asks for your information—credit card, email, home address, Facebook login, or other information—to grant access to an exclusive story, don’t give it out. The results indicated the percentage of risk of running into online threats designed to steal personal information. The journey of the debut edition of Elite Model Look India 2014 presented by Max started with a five city casting tour which includes Delhi, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Bangalore and Mumbai. The online world was buzzing with lakhs of people engaging with the contest over the last two months. Thousands of aspiring contestants participated in this biggest ever international platform. The finalists were groomed by industry experts like MARC ROBINSON, India’s leading holistic health guru MICKEY MEHTA and International Ramp Walk Trainer ERIKA OLIVIERA.
At the finale show finalists were seen sashaying glamorously down the ramp for the final selection rounds. The evening proved to be a complete fashion treat with outstanding poise and glamour as the finalists walked the ramp in style showcasing fabulous collection from Max.

Boys showcased varied looks from Smart to Dressy Casuals. Khaki and shades of beige combined with trendy indigo and denim gave them a truly refreshed look. In the final round, Boys were in evening blazers, stylised leather jackets in monochromatic shades, well supported with T shirts with glossy applique and panelling details. 

Girls look varied from Bold & Dramatic to luxurious black finale collection. Whether it be graphic prints, dots, stark stripes, contrast blocking or windowpane checks- Black and White did the Mix & Match way with lots of Pattern play. The final girl's round showcased them sparkle, shimmer and couture detailing black dress redefined with modern cuts and luxurious fabrics.

The show was judged by Victoria Da Silva – World President Elite Model Look accompanied by NARENDRA KUMAR (Designer), VASANTH KUMAR (Executive Director, Max), MARC ROBINSON (Project Head, Max EML India 2014) and NUPUR TRON (License owner, Elite Model Look in India).

Raj Kumar Hirani turns choreographer for P.K.

For one of the songs in his awaited upcoming film, PK, Raj Kumar Hirani wanted a very different signature move.

The director was keen to have a non filmy choreographer for this particular song and they went on an extensive search to get someone unusual on board for this.

Artists from France, Bangalore and other places were auditioned but Raju was not satisfied with the groove of the signature move.

Even people from the cast and crew were given a chance to try but to no solution.

Kiran Rao who was on set once also tried making a cool move but it did not fit the feel of the song.

Apart from that, even Anushka Sharma tried her hands at it.

Finally, it was Raj Kumar Hirani, who came up with a cool signature move for the song.

Bosco – Ceasar then came on board and choreographed the entire song in the same mood.

The song is a light mood song and the makers are very happy with the way it has turned out to look.

Ali used to sing live for them and the rest of the cast would join in...they bonded over old classics as Ali sung unplugged versions of the songsAli say's "Shad is a lovely guy to work with and a music buff like myself. Ranvir is a great sport and a costar. Parineeti loves to song herself and was an ideal singing partner. So does Govinda. So luckily we had a mix of people who connected through music on some other level and I believe none of us would be able to forget the moments we all shared during the shooting of the film and also after wrap ups. Sometimes we would be up and singing till dawn. And again return to set to shoot in a few hours. I still carry the guitar Shad gifted me"

SONALI CABLE GOES VIRAL!




The makers of SONALI CABLE have made a series of short videos that are going viral on the internet, with names like ‘KLPD’, ‘Kissing Burji’, ‘Buffering’… and what not… these videos are getting viewed in lakhs all across the globe, an innovative promotion, and we are certainly impressed with their thinking.

When asked Rohan Sippy, the producer of the film how this whole thing came about, he said, “We wanted to people to get what the film is about, like we say in SONALI CABLE,’Sonali kabhi offline nahi jati!’ we wanted that to come across in these videos. I think Amritpal Singh Bindra and Anand Tiwari who have made these videos have done a fabulous job!”

These videos are mostly about how in todays generation internet is something that youngsters cannot live without, “you read it in papers all the time a kid recently got violent cause his mother stopped his wifi connection, and we wanted to let people know that SONALI CABLE, will aide in all the ‘desperate’ times by giving you internet access of course.” Said Sippy with his tongue firmly in his cheek. “The idea was to appeal to the youth, so we have put small motifs and now these videos, that will make them relate to the film!” Now, that’s how it is done!

Jee Bhar Ke Jee Le.

JP Dutta's daughter Nidhi Dutta's debut will be called Jee Bhar Ke Jee Le.

Nidhi Dutta took her father, JP Dutta, by surprise when she informed him about her aspirations to act. It was while she was still serving as the seventh assistant during the making of UMRAO JAAN, that she finally told her father that she has been dreaming of facing the camera for many long years, just like her mother Bindiya Goswami Dutta.

"At the age of two I was dancing to ‘Chaiya Chaiya’ in a diaper," she says, "I've been a drama queen all my life, the lakta-jhatkas come easy," Nidhi says with pride.

Nidhi's debut film Jee Bhar Ke Jee Le, which is being produced by her father under a new youth-centric banner, JP Gene, is directed by Binoy Gandhi. "Papa took the muhurat shot which had me speaking a line from his film Refugee. And he was on the sets everyday. Once, during an awkward romantic moment in front of the camera, he nudged me aside and stepped in as my proxy. Ajit (Sodhi), who plays the lead in the film (Nafisa Ali's son) was told to caress my cheek, the poor guy just froze," she laughs.

When asked Nidhi about her co-star, she says, "One day I was talking about the film to Ajit who I've known since we were kids, and he shown interest in it. He was signed by dad for Border 2 and when that got stalled, it was decided that he'd be launched with this film," reveals Nidhi, who entered the picture by offering to speak the girl's lines during a script reading session. "I play a travel blogger in this film which is all about friendship and love."

Nidhi had to lose 20 kilos before she faced the camera, and she was working out in the gym even after she broke her leg, six days before the film started. It is a road trip through Mumbai, Goa, Hampi and Romania. Nidhi says the shoot was like a fairy tale even though the second schedule started with her passing out on the sets. "I had high fever," she explains.

The film is gearing up for a 2015 release. She further adds, "Papa always tells me to do what I love and this is something I love. In the 100 years of cinema, dadaji, Dad and Mom together have been around for 62 years. It's great to take the legacy forward.” When asked if she is will be exclusive to JP films only, the pretty lass clarified, "I'm open to films from other banners too."

J P Gene's Jee Bhar Ke Jee Le in association with Sunday Talkies, directed by Binoy Gandhi, starring, Nidhi Dutta and Ajit Sodhi in lead, and Sagarika Ghatge, Vivan Bathena, Taha Shah, Diganth Manchale, Sabina Sheema amongst others will be a 2015 release.
