SLAM! The Tour Vancouver and San Jose concerts where the US/ Canada part of the tour concluded recently. Director Farah Khan, Actors Deepika Padukone, Shah Rukh Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood, Vivaan Shah and singer Kanika Kapoor and Signature Dance Group entertained the crowd at both the cities.

SLAM! The Tour USA/Canada was done in six cities. Houston, New Jersey, Washington DC, Chicago, Vancouver and San Jose. All shows were houseful.

  

Ruskin Bond praises Shahid Kapoor

Shahid Kapoor seems to have become the talk of the town. The actor’s performance in his recent film has got everyone spellbound.

Playing a famous character in the Indian adaption of Hamlet the actor has caught the eyes of another veteran author.

In a recent interview Ruskin Bond stated that he would like Shahid Kapoor to play his character onscreen if a biopic was ever made on him. 

Shahid Kapoor has gathered a lot of attention with his recent release. The actor has made a mark by his extraordinary acting skill. He has in a phenomenal manner showed his versatile and layered acting skill.

His performance has got a lot of people in the industry talking about the actor’s recent work.

When Shahid heard about Ruskin’s declaration he was more than delighted. He is a fan of Ruskin Robin and his very famous book character Rusty. The author is known to for his lighthearted creation.

Shahid was very happy and honored by Ruskin’s thoughts of him and would love to play his character.

Spokesperson confirms the news and adds, “Shahid was overwhelmed when he heard about what Ruskin Bond had said. For him it is an honor to be chosen by such a veteran writer. Shahid would like to thank him on considering him to play such a well known character.”

Jigariyaa’s songs are the USP of the film – Raj Purohit

It’s been said people’s taste changes with time but it’s not completely true. There are still few filmmakers who choose old-school ways to attract the audience towards them and also find success in it. 'Jigariyaa', being a love story based on true events from Agra is depicting the year 1988-89. The film has beautiful melodies which is also happened to be the music of that period in which film is based.

The songs include “Arziyaan", “Jigariyaa”, “Ishq Hai”, “Mora Rangdaar Saiyyaan”, “Phurr Phurr” and “Rang Rang De.”

The song which is played in trailer “Ishq Hai” has already found its place in the hearts of the audience, the song has received 2 millions hit on social networking sites in a mere 2 week time. The other songs are also gaining popularity. The lyricist Arun Kumar – Faraaz Ahmed and the Music Directors Agnel-Faizan and Raj-Prakash have done commendable work on the music and lyrics.

On this Vinod Bachchan says, “When I got the script of 'Jigariyaa', I had already decided not only the songs will be inspired by story but the music will also portray the year in which it is made. In general, makers make mistake in choosing the music which we haven’t done. I am pleased that I have fulfilled my promise which I made to myself also I am happy that we have managed to beautify the songs along with the story.”

When asked the filmmaker, Raj Purohit says, “I am extremely happy that along with the film, its songs are also gaining momentum. Specially the support we received from today’s young generation for the songs on social networking sites is overwhelming. 'Jigariyaa' songs are the USP of the film and for this I am grateful to the music directors Agnel-Faizan and Raj-Prakash.”

Waves Cinemas Ponty Chadha presents A Soundarya productions, Jigariyaa, directed by Raj purohit, Producered by Raju Chadha and Vinod Bachchan, starring Harshvardhan Deo and Cherry Mardia, is slated for 10th October 2014 release.

Ranveer Singh in a clean shaven look

Ranveer Singh will be seen in a clean shaven look after a long time.
After his rugged bearded look for his last two films, the actor has now gone clean shaven for his upcoming films.

The charming actor will be seen next in Kill Dil and Dil Dhadakne Do. Though his look in both the film is similar, he would be playing completely contrasting characters.

The clean shaven look has just made the actor look younger adding an edge to his notorious nature.

The actor for the first time will be seen playing the role of a contact killer and life becomes complicated for him when he has to choose between kill and love. The film is set in Delhi and Ranveer's look in it is more earthy where he will be seen in the most desi andaz.

Whereas in Dil Dhadakne Do, he essays a suave rich kid who wants to follow his dreams and pursue his passion. His look is quite urban as he is traveling on a cruise and living his life king size.

Ranveer has pulled off a grey character as well as an urbane one in the same look and with complete ease. 

Sonali Cable is inspired by it’s Director story

Director-Producer Rohan Sippy’s Dum maaro Dum and Nautanki Saala’s writer Charudutt Acharya, will have his directorial debut with Sonali Cable. The one thing that makes him confident is the fact that he has first-hand seen the Internet Broadband war and has converted that experience into his first directorial venture.

While talking about this, director says, “If I say Sonali Cable is my story, it won’t be wrong. Seven - eight years ago when I used to write for television, I had to send a story on urgent basis anyhow, when I was done with story and was about to send that time my internet connection failed. This happened during the time when our cell phones did not have internet and it was late at night, no cyber cafes were open. I was worried but that time I remembered an 18 years old girl’s number who used to work for that internet service provider. I had spoken to her earlier but I doubted if she would speak to me that late night. I called her and told her jokingly ‘kal tum sab meri mayyat me aa jaana’, when she heard my dilemma she was quick to come to my rescue. She forwarded me over to a guy who within matter of minutes had my internet functioning. That time I decided I would meet these kids, but that time I didn’t know I would get such nice story from them.” He further adds, “I think through this film everybody will get to know talented middle class youngster’s story. All these youngsters need is proper guidance and a little financial help and they can do many wonders.”

The young actress, who will next be seen in Yash Raj Films’ Kill Dil underwent special training for Golf.

Her character in the film demanded her to learn the sport as she will be seen playing it.

For that, she had to learn at least the basics of the sport.

A special person was hired to come and train the actress for the same

While it was only for couple of shots she didn't want it to look fake. People who play golf have a very different posture / style / the way they play the shot, so she wanted to perfect it.

Parineeti Chopra is looking extremely different in the film. Gone is girl next door styling and her look is with added oomph.

The actress took keen interest in the sport and loved the whole experience of learning even the basics of the royal sport.

Spokesperson of Kill Dil confirms the news and adds, “Yes, Parineeti wanted to perfect the way she would give the shot so she got into the basics of the sport.”

Bang Bang crosses 50 crore

Bang Bang crosses 50 crore in two days! Records a collection of 24.08 crore nett at the counters on day two taking the total to 51.62 crore!
Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif's Bang Bang has raced past the 50 crore collection mark in two days. The film made 24.08 crore on second day to take the total collection to 51.62 crore. Bang Bang on day one had blasted it's way into top 5 openers of all time as it made 27.54 crore on it's opening day.

The film's opening marked Hrithik Roshan biggest opening of his career and Katrina Kaif now has three movies in the top 5 openers of all time.

The film directed by Siddharth Anand, is being appreciated widely by audiences for it's never-seen-before action sequences, Hrithik and Kat's stunning chemistry, superhit music, Hrithik's dancing and a pacy story. The film is a masala, family entertainer. Bang Bang was set to become a rage as it was touted to be the hottest film of 2014.

Produced by Fox Star Studios, Bang Bang has been directed by Siddharth Anand. The film, which being called the best action film that Bollywood has ever made, recorded a drop of only 13 percent on day two, a normal drop considering it's release day - October 2 - was a national holiday which helped the film set a new box office record. Trade pundits are very excited about Bang Bang numbers as they expect a huge weekend from the film.

Katrina Kaif continues to remain a lucky mascot at the box office !

After the stupendous success of Ek Tha Tiger, Jab Tak Hai Jaan and Dhoom 3 , Katrina Kaif who is touted Bollywood’s lucky mascot with the shattering opening of Bang Bang! proves that she continues to charm the box office.

The actress scorched the screens as the action-entertainer created a splash at the box office and was lauded for attempting to do stunts on-par international standards, not to mention, her breathtaking screen presence that would give most contemporaries a run for their money.
