Sanjay Tripathy started his career as a science writer for prominent national dailies & magazines. He went on to produce India’s longest running science programme ‘Turning Point’ for its national network Doordarshan apart from working on many award winning documentaries. ‘Club 60’ is his directorial debut in Hindi Films.

SYNOPSIS

A glance at Manu bhai Shah (Raghubir Yadav), and he appears peculiar in his outfit, crazy in his behavior, flamboyant in his style, loud and funny in his conversation, and overbearing in his relations! With  colored hair, trimmed French beard, colorful t-shirts with slogans (inappropriate for his age), GUCCI glares and i-pod plug-ins; when he enters the tennis ground of the club he shouts in his inimitable style of gujrati mixed marathi accent.."public..audience (sounding as odience)”. He moves around in a red colored open jeep and thrives on wine, women and friends. He lives life unapologetically.  He and his gang which includes Dhillon (Sharat saxena), Mansukhani (Satish shah),  Zafar (Tinnu anand) and Sinha (Vineet Kumar) are a group of irrepressible 'five' whose lives revolve around a tennis court in a club called CLUB 60. They can drive anyone crazy by their antics. They play, fight, abuse, bitch and can even put youngsters, half their age, to shame when they talk of wine, women and sex.

Story of club 60 unfolds when Dr Tareek sheikh (Farooque Sheikh), a neuro surgeon, suffering from acute depression after the death of his only son, shifts to Mumbai from Pune with his wife Dr Sayara (Sarika). A chance encounter of suave Dr Sheikh with the flamboyant, talkative, funny and overbearing Manu bhai, who stays in the same building, snowballs into Dr Sheik’s forced and reluctant entry into the club 60's gang of five. But is Manu bhai and his gang just a chunk of some well-to-do crazy and fun-loving people or is there something more to them under their colorful and playful facade? We explore it along with Dr Sheikh as slowly and steadily his reluctant participation in Manu bhai's 'gang of five', makes him fall in love with ‘life’ again.

Phantom which is being produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, was shooting a refuge scene where they had to cross the border. The costumes and looks of the cast were very close to reality. The entire scene was being shot near the border area.

Katrina Kaif and Kabir Khan were shooting in these areas for second time after Ek Tha Tiger albeit in newer locations.

The agencies got suspicious of the entire act, so much so that they came down to where the shoot was happening for surveillance.

Sajid who was present for the shoot was very shocked at the intensity of the surveillance. He had gone through the process of getting the permissions to shoot and even after presenting them to the agencies they asked to check the entire team.

After confirming a shoot is going on and being presented the permission documents, the intelligence agency anyways surveyed the entire crew of anything suspicious.

Once confirming that the entire thing is a movie shoot, was only when the agencies left the plot.

Kabir Khan said, “We were shooting on the Lebanon-Syria border and had re-created a refugee camp. Intelligence officials got suspicious as we were shooting with military vehicles, jeeps, trucks, real guns and hundreds of people dressed as refugees. We found planes flying over us. We had to clarify that it’s a film shoot. We were called up by the Lebanese military officials to find out where exactly we were shooting as we had taken permission from the Lebanese army to film in certain places”.

After the grand success of Ek Tha Tiger the Director-actress Kabir Khan and Katrina Kaif will come together. Saif Ali Khan will be playing the male lead opposite Katrina.
