'Issaq Jodi paan' to promote film 'Issaq' at multiplexes in Mumbai

'Issaq Jodi paan' to promote film

 'Issaq'

 at multiplexes in Mumbai

Issaq, a Romeo Juliet adaptation set in Varanasi is going to be promoted in a unique way in Multiplexes during the coming weekends.

Keeping in Synch with the theme of Romance and Benaras, For the first time, there would be stalls of Paan in selected multiplexes of Mumbai that will distribute heart shaped 'Issaq Jodi Paan' to people coming in theatres to watch any film during weekends till the release of the film.

Director Manish Tiwary explains, “Benarasi Paan is very popular.  Our marketing team felt that distributing magai paan (usually sold in pairs) would be unique and perfectly positioned for this romantic tale.”

With Aashiqui 2, Raanjhanaa and Lootera being lapped up by the masses, romance seems to be the flavour of the season. Tiwary believes this will work for his film. “I feel that love stories are eternal and in our film the viewer will witness how love can blossom amidst violence and apathy. Audiences will connect with the pangs of first love. It has comedy, drama and action, making it a complete entertainer,” he concludes.

Issaq, presented by Jayantilal Gada’s Pen India Pvt Ltd, Produced by Shailesh R Singh and Dhaval Gada is slated to release on July 26.

EDGE OF TOMORROW beginning June 6th 2014,

EDGE OF TOMORROW

Oscar® nominee Tom Cruise (the “Mission: Impossible” films, “Collateral,” “Jerry Maguire”) and Emily Blunt (“The Devil Wears Prada,” “The Adjustment Bureau”) star in the epic sci-fi thriller “Edge of Tomorrow,” under the direction of Doug Liman (“The Bourne Identity,” “Mr. & Mrs. Smith”).
The story unfolds in a near future in which a hive-like alien race, called Mimics, have hit the Earth in an unrelenting assault, shredding great cities to rubble and leaving millions of human casualties in their wake.  No army in the world can match the speed, brutality or seeming prescience of the weaponized Mimic fighters or their telepathic commanders.  But now the world’s armies have joined forces for a last stand offensive against the alien horde, with no second chances.
Lt. Col. Bill Cage (Cruise) is an officer who has never seen a day of combat when he is unceremoniously demoted and then dropped—untrained and ill-equipped—into what amounts to little more than a suicide mission.  Cage is killed within minutes, managing to take an Alpha down with him.  But, impossibly, he awakens back at the beginning of the same hellish day, and is forced to fight and die again…and again.  Direct physical contact with the alien has thrown him into a time loop—dooming him to live out the same brutal combat over and over.
But with each pass, Cage becomes tougher, smarter, and able to engage the Mimics with increasing skill, alongside Special Forces warrior Rita Vrataski (Blunt), who has lain waste to more Mimics than anyone on Earth.  As Cage and Rita take the fight to the aliens, each repeated battle becomes an opportunity to find the key to annihilating the alien invaders and saving the Earth.
The international cast also includes Bill Paxton (“Aliens,” HBO’s “Big Love”), Kick Gurry (Australian TV’s “Tangle”), Dragomir Mrsic (“Snabba Cash II”), Charlotte Riley (“World Without End”), Jonas Armstrong (BBC TV’s “Robin Hood”), and Franz Drameh (“Attack the Block”).
Liman is directing the film from a screenplay by Dante Harper, Christopher McQuarrie and Joby Harold, based on the acclaimed novel All You Need is Kill by Hiroshi Sakurazaka.  Erwin Stoff (“The Blind Side,” “I Am Legend”), Gregory Jacobs (“Contagion”) and Jeffrey Silver (“300”) are the producers.  The executive producers are Jason Hoffs, Tom Lassally, Doug Liman, Dave Bartis, Joby Harold, Hidemi Fukuhara, and Bruce Berman, with Kim Winther and Tim Lewis serving as co-producers.
The behind-the-scenes team includes Academy Award®-winning director of photography Dion Beebe (“Memoirs of a Geisha”), production designer Oliver Scholl (“Jumper,” “Independence Day”), editor James Herbert (“Sherlock Holmes,” “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows”), costume designer Kate Hawley (upcoming “Pacific Rim”), and Oscar®-nominated visual effects supervisor Nick Davis (“The Dark Knight”).
“Edge of Tomorrow” is the first motion picture to be shot at the recently christened Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden.
Slated to open
beginning June 6th 2014, the film will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company, and in select territories by Village Roadshow.

Chor Chor Super chor

unveils its

music and first look

Deepak Dobriyal comes back with a spleen bursting satirical comedy.
Mumbai, 11th June 2013: Deepak Dobriyal starrer Chor Chor Super Chor launched its music and first look amidst much fanfare. The film is slated to relase on August 2, 2013. Designed and delivered by a gang of FTII graduates , Chor Chor Super Chor promises spleen bursting laughter through its layers of satire and dark humour.
Set in the bylanes of the capital, the plot spins around a gang of petty thieves and their bizarre lives. While one aspires to get into the bigger league, the other wants to come out clean, all the more after falling in love. Their differing ideologies lead to dramatic situations and the climax comes as pleasant surprise. The film is directed by debutant Rajesh K, while Rakesh Hairdas handled the camera. The music of the film is scored by Mangesh Dhakde while the much talented Pappon of Barfi fame has lent his voice. Deepak Dobriyal shares screen space with debutants Priya Bathija of television and Anshul Kataria in the lead. Deepak Dobriyal was last seen at Dabangg 2.
Talking about the launch, director Rajesh stated, “We have put in about two and a half years on the project and it’s time for results. It’s a very nostalgic moment for me as this film was born out of canteen conversations at FTII and I could not have accomplished this without my friends. Infact, you can call this an almost 100 percent FTII product”.
An excited Deepak added, “ Chor chor super chor was a fun film to work on and the team was great. We could experiment a lot and Rajesh had given me a lot of space and free hand. It just made the entire experience so much more worthwhile. There was a clear sense of ownership and we went all out. It’s shaped up really well and we can’t wait for it to release”.

STORY.

The film starts in the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome, where a coach says "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag", and the story is taken back to memories of the childhood days of a young boy which haunted him, resulted in him dropping to fourth. The partition caused chaos which resulted in war with the locals of Punjab in Pakistan, killing the parents of Milkha Singh (Farhan Akhtar). He reaches Delhi and later meets his sister there. Milkha soon makes friends and survives by stealing with his friends. He falls in love with Biro (Sonam Kapoor) but she asks him to live a life of honesty. Milkha finally finds himself in the army where he gets noticed by a Hawaldar (Constable) after he wins a race in which top 10 runners will get milk, two eggs and excuse from exercise. He gets selected for service commission where he gets miffed and also gets beaten up by senior players whom he had defeated earlier, on the day before selection of Indian team for Olympics. In spite of being injured he still participates in the race, overcomes his pain and wins the race. His coach tells him that he has broken the national record.
In the Melbourne Olympics he gets attracted to the granddaughter of his Australian technical coach, and after a night in a bar he sleeps with her. He loses the race, beats himself up and on the way back to India asks his coach to tell him what the world record for the 400m race is. He trains hard with a firm determination and wins in several places. Then Jawaharlal Nehru convinces him to lead the Indian team to Pakistan for friendly races. In Pakistan he misses the press conference and goes to his village where in a flashback it is shown how his parents were murdered and the last words of his father were "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag!" He starts crying and is confronted by a boy who turns out to be his childhood friend's son. In the games, the Pakistani favorite is winning, when Milkha comes, overtaking opponents one by one and finally taking on the lead and winning the race and respect of both nation's peoples. The Pakistani commander gives him the the title "The Flying Sikh".

CRITIC VIEW.
Finally some body has dared to go against the tide and in return we get a marvellous piece of creativity combined by energy from a filmmaker who has returned with a vengeance Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's BHAG MILKHA BHAG.
A film not to be missed for any so reason,as blood and sweat is visible of Farhan Akhtar's matchless outstanding energy and performance which he has given to make MILKHA SINGH what he was once and now again in BHAG MILKHA BHAG.
Best of the cinematography by ace Binod Pradhan and stimulating background score by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy adds more feathers to this magnanimous piece of art.

STORY.
The Jaeger program is initially successful in fending off kaiju attacks and at first turns the tide of the war. However, over time, kaiju cross through the portal at a faster rate, with each new kaiju becoming increasingly well-adapted for fighting against the Jaegers. As such, the robots become less and less effective, causing the now-united governments of Earth to lose faith in the Jaegers' ability to defend humanity. The Jaeger program is terminated, with resources diverted to building the "Wall of Hope", a coastal fortification to protect Earth's cities. The four of the remaining Jaegers are redeployed to Hong Kong to defend the unfortified coastline until the wall can be completed. Stacker Pentecost, the commander of the Jaeger forces, devises a plan to end the war once and for all with an illegally-acquired Russian nuclear warhead.
Pentecost approaches former pilot Raleigh Becket and convinces him to return to the program. Becket and his brother Yancy had once been pilots of Gipsy Danger and tasked with defending the Alaskan coastline. During a mission, they ignored an order and engaged a kaiju directly. Yancy was torn from the cockpit while still connected to his brother, and the experience traumatized Raleigh. Upon returning to the program, Raleigh goes through a rigorous process of testing to find a new co-pilot, since the stronger the connection between two pilots, the better their performance in battle. Raleigh demands to be partnered with Mako Mori, a test pilot whose participation Pentecost opposes, as Mako is his adoptive daughter. He eventually relents and allows her to partner Raleigh. The couple's initial test run nearly ends in disaster when Mako gets caught up in a memory of an encounter with a kaiju as a child and inadvertently activates and nearly discharges Gipsy Danger's primary weapons system while still in the hangar. The two are withdrawn from the field indefinitely as the remaining Jaegers are tasked with fending off a dual kaiju attack. The defense of Hong Kong goes poorly, with the kaiju quickly destroying two Jaegers and disabling a third. Pentecost has no choice but to authorize Raleigh and Mako to mount a last stand, and the two drive off the assault.
Meanwhile, Dr. Newton Geizler—a scientist studying the kaiju—assembles a machine that allows him to establish a mental link with a fragment of a kaiju brain in the same way that Jaeger pilots connect with one another. The experience nearly kills him, but he discovers that the kaiju are actually genetically-bred weapons sent to Earth as an invading force to allow their masters to colonize the planet. With Pentecost's approval, he seeks out Hannibal Chau, a major figure in the trade of illegal kaiju parts, in an attempt to get a new kaiju brain to repeat the experiment. Chau criticises Geizler's foolishness in merging with the kaiju brain, as he has now attracted their attention, and the kaiju attacking Hong Kong are specifically seeking him out. After Gipsy Danger kills the kaiju attacking the city, Chau and his crew of poachers move in to harvest parts. Geizler realises, too late, that the kaiju is pregnant, and Chau and his crew are attacked by the newborn baby kaiju. The baby is unable to survive outside the womb and dies after eating Chau. This allows Geizler and his skeptical colleague Hermann Gottlieb to merge with the baby kaiju's brain, where they discover the secret controlling the flow of kaiju through the portal.
The Jaeger forces reassemble, planning to use the nuclear warhead to destroy the portal once and for all. Pentecost, revealed to have been one of the original Jaeger pilots, takes command of Striker Eureka as one of its usual pilots was injured during the defence of Hong Kong. Pentecost ventures out into the ocean depths, with Raleigh and Mako supporting him aboard Gispy Danger. Geizler and Gottleib inform them that the portal has a fail-safe system to control the passage of kaiju, which will only allow them entry if they can mimic the genetic code of a kaiju. Before they can process this information, they are attacked by a pack of kaiju, including the largest kaiju in recorded history. Pentecost detonates the warhead, destroying his Jaeger and its pilots, in order to kill the remaining kaiju guarding the portal. Raleigh and Mako seize the corpse of a dead kaiju and use it to pass through the portal, intending to overload Gipsy Danger's nuclear reactor to use it as an improvised bomb. With the Jaeger critically damaged from the fight, Raleigh ejects Mako and manually overrides Gipsy Danger's safety protocols before ejecting himself. Gipsy Danger detonates on the other side of the portal, destroying it and the alien commanders, as the two pilots emerge safely back on the Earth's surface.
In a post-credits scene, Chau is revealed to have survived being eaten by the baby kaiju.

CRITIC VIEW.
Mexican Filmmaker Guillermo del Toro who has given us popular American horror flicks like Hellboy and Hellboy II, this time has got another disaster alien mega thriller for his audience Pacific Rim.A  blockbuster made on a mammoth budget of $180m.

Virtually the story has been evident in other American movies save the earth  from alien attacks, just to add some spectacular images of man made robots vs giant alien arizona is the magic mantra in this mindless alien war epic.Though the  3D  effect which was added in post-production does not give the much desired adrenaline for a tideous 131 minutes.
The movies highlight  [unlike other Hollywood blockbuster] is that it has been shot in various location leaving behind US cities from yet another apocalypse.

Catch Ryan Reynolds, Samuel Jackson and Snoop Dogg in action as TURBO releases on 19th July!

Catch Ryan Reynolds, Samuel Jackson

and Snoop Dogg in action as TURBO

releases on 19th July!

Director:David Soren
Cast:Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L Jackson and Snoop Dogg

From the makers of Madagascar, Kung Fu Panda and The CroodsTURBO is a high-velocity 3D comedy about an underdog snail whose dreams kick into overdrive when he miraculously attains the power of super-speed. But after making fast friends with a crew of streetwise, tricked-out es-car-goes, Turbolearns that no one succeeds on their own. So he puts his heart and shell on the line to help his pals achieve their dreams, before Turbo-charging his own impossible dream: winning the Indy 500!
Turbo is a little guy with big dreams.  Not satisfied with living life at a snail’s pace, he has a powerful and resolute need for speed.  Turbo trains tirelessly, measuring his progress with a yard stick.  Turbo’s single-minded goal is to compete in the greatest race in the world: the Indy 500.
Starring a popular ensemble cast of Ryan Reynolds, Samuel Jackson, Snoop Dogg, Paul Giamatti and others, the animation flick releases in India on 19th July 2013.
The requisite comedic and dramatic acting chops, and bigger-than-life persona, are embodied by Hollywood Hottie Ryan Reynolds, whom Director Paul Soren describes as “the perfect match” for Turbo.
“I was pitched the idea about this character who has an impossible dream of winning the Indy 500,” Ryan Reynolds remembers.  “I asked, ‘What’s impossible about that?’ And he said, ‘Turbo’s a snail.’  And I said, ‘That’s impossible!’”
“But it all really sounded amazing, and I fell in love with its classic underdog story, which TURBO takes to a new level,” Reynolds continues.  “It takes a unique if not insane perspective to bring a snail to life in this way. What I love most about Turbo is his tenacity and refusal to give up on his dream.  In fact, it doesn’t even occur to him to give up. Talent is a collision between hard work and luck, and that’s what Turbo is.”
Turbo’s other key relationship is with the collective known as the Racing Snails, who ultimately serve as his pit crew at the Indy 500.
Before Turbo arrived on the scene, the leader and reigning champ of the Racing Snails was Whiplash.  To be a member of Whiplash’s crew, you must earn his respect, and until you do, you’ll never experience the real Whiplash – a warm, jovial guy who treats his crew like family.
Samuel L. Jackson portrays Whiplash.  The Academy Award® nominee says he “wanted to bring a sense of bravado and gravitas” to the character, exemplified in a thunderous pep talk to Turbo delivered during the film’s climax.  “Whiplash speaks to Turbo as a coach and leader, and encourages him to be his best,” says Jackson.  “And that includes getting his attention when need be. Whiplash’s and the entire crew’s job is to give Turbo a sense of toughness, self-awareness, and backbone.”
One of the final stages of the race to finish TURBO was the intricate sound design created by three-time Academy Award-winner Richard King (The Dark Knight, Inception, Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World).  King worked closely with Soren to further define the film’s vibrant characters and environments through their sounds.   Among their principal challenges was creating Turbo’s signature powering-up racing sounds, and differentiating them from the terrifying and deafening engines of the thirty-twoIndy 500 cars pitted against him.
Director Soren also employed cutting-edge techniques to create the Indy 500 crowd scenes – 300,000 people strong.  (It’s the biggest sporting event in the world.) “There are more crowds in TURBO than any in animated film history,” says the director.  To accomplish that, “we devised a system that allowed us to cover huge crowds with relatively low amounts of rendering time, in a way never before possible.”
This kind of technical wizardry was always in service of TURBO’s colorful characters and classic-with-a-twist underdog tale.  “I think audiences will really get behind Turbo’s determination and dreams,” says Paul Soren.  “There’s a quality about underdog stories where you just can’t help but start rooting for the character, get swept up by them, and start rooting for them.  And by the end, you’re kind of pumped.
TURBO races into theaters everywhere July 19, 2013.

Amitabh Bachchan's Blog on Bhaag Milkha Bhaag:

Amitabh Bachchan's Blog on Bhaag Milkha Bhaag:

Just back from a trial of the new film to be released " Bhaag Milkha Bhaag ".. and I am so emotionally and creatively moved to put anything down in words today ..
‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ …’Run Milkha Run’ is the true life story of one of the greatest athletes of India, in his prime during the late 50’s and 60’s .. he broke the world record in the 400 meters … but there is so much more to him and this story of his life that is simply amazing … and Farhan Akhtar who has lived his role in the film is just unbelievable …
This is an extraordinary film, and made with equal aplomb and measure. The story of Milkha Singh is legend now, but to see it relived in today’s time was an unbelievable experience.
Milkha Singh, a Sikh, born and brought up in pre partition Punjab, now in Pakistan, was the only survivor of his family, other than his elder sister, who had run away earlier, and whom he found after long when all the refugees were rehabilitated in camps, during the violence that erupted at the time of the division of India, into Pakistan and India. He was hardly 13 or 14 years old when his village was attacked by the opposite community, and saw his entire family brutally massacred .. all that he remembered was his grandfather yelling at him to run away, as the marauders came in .. and through out his life he had the most disturbing visuals of his grandfather screaming at him - bhaag Milkha bhaag !!
To see the entire re enactment of the brutality of the partition … of remembering those days of 1947, when I was a 5 year old in Allahabad, to hear all those horrid tales from my Mother’s side of the family .. all Sikhs .. my Aunts and cousins, who had escaped from their land, and had come to live with us to escape the killings, was traumatising ..
My Mother’s sisters have passed away, but I remember visiting them with my Mother after they were re established in towns, now in India - Sirsa, and Jullunder … some of them now in Chandigargh and in Lucknow .. my cousins ..some migrated to England .. but every time I spend time with them, those horrible tales of losing all their belongings - they coming from some of the most affluent families in erstwhile Punjab(Pak) - of the nightmares that they went through, the dislocation and the unbearable tragedy of each … just so depressing and sad ..
More people were killed during the Partition of India in 1947, than those killed in the entire World War II …
But for now I just want to come away from all those memories and allow my brain to rest and take in what I have seen in the film … the determination and effort of one individual, that has now become a landmark event in the history of the country …
