Datsun History

DELL ADDRESSES FOUNDATIONAL NEEDS FOR A DIGITAL ECONOMY WITH ‘AARAMBH’ - A ‘PC FOR EDUCATION’ INITIATIVE FOR THE INDIA OF TOMORROW

INDIA, June 6, 2016: —Advocating the purpose of the ‘Digital India’ campaign by the Government of India,Dell India, powered by the cause of increasing PC access and adoption, in the country, announces the launch of Aarambh – a pan India initiative aimed at spearheading the use of the personal computer (PC) for education. The project is founded on the understanding that exposure to interactive methods of learning in the developmental years, most easily delivered by using a PC, contributes to the well-rounded growth of a student.

Through Aarambh, Dell will engage with three key audiences - students, teachers and parents - in a series of activities meant to build their confidence and familiarity with using the PC. The program aims to enable both parents and teachers to actively aid in the educational development of the child, while using a PC and create an encompassing ecosystem and supportive background for the child. The year-long project aims to reach 1 million students and 1, 00,000 teachers across 5,000 schools; and 2, 00,000 parents in 75 cities across the country. In a larger context, PC adoption can enable the nurturing of digital citizens who will serve as the building blocks for a rapidly developing Digital India.

Reiterating that the current household PC penetration in India has stagnated at anywhere between 9-10% - a number that needs grass root attention; Dell Aarambh aspires to represent the use of PC learning to unlock potential for young students. More importantly, it aims to establish that parents and teachers, who are key influencers in a child’s formative years, can aid their overall growth by participating in the adoption of PC technology for learning.

Dell has been working at a grassroots level to grow PC penetration in the country through several strategic initiatives. Dell’s ‘Go Rural’ has been a successful and inclusive program which takes the PC experience in mobile Dell Exclusive Stores to Tier 3 – 4 towns. To gain a deeper understanding on the low rates of household PC penetration, last year Dell commissioned a study conducted by Greyhound Research that revealed the PC’s relevance for emerging India. Respondents called out the PC as a key tool for content creation but also presented a dichotomy in not always being owners of the personal computer. Dell’s belief in presenting the contribution of a PC in the day to day life of India’s future youth and its positive impact in building a truly digital workforce, has laid the foundation towards the conceptualization of Aarambh.

Aarambh, which means “to begin”. It is literally the starting point, the first step, of everything. To Dell, Aarambh is the reiteration that a personal computer should be a necessity in a younger age group, and not a choice for these individuals who will be crucial components of a digital-first young workforce. The core idea behind the project is to establish the PC as a gateway to learning by increasing access to knowledge, building upon individual skill-sets and by enabling exposure for students for holistic growth. Dell’s effort is driven by the same insight and purpose which is aligned to the government’s Digital India and Skill India initiatives which have taken off with great steam.

Speaking at the launch of Aarambh, P. The launch of Aarambh will also see Dell championing the cause against Rote Learning. With a number of activities aimed at raising awareness on the downsides of Rote Learning and showcasing how conceptual learning is more beneficial to children in the long run, Dell aims to explain how PC technology can transform learning for a student. Aside from this, on-ground engagement will be carried out with students, parents and teachers to reiterate the importance of learning by doing, and not by rote learning which has been traditionally established in India.

Dentsu Aegis Network reaches out to 2500 children on ‘One Day For Change’

~Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt was invited as Chief Guest for the Tata Memorial Hospital Fun Fair that was organised by the Dentsu Aegis Network~

Mumbai, 3rd June, 2016: Dentsu Aegis Network organised the 3rd edition of its Corporate Social Responsibility programme, ‘One Day For Change’, on June 3, 2016.

With children playing the central role in the programme this year, the India chapter of this global initiative successfully reached out to as many as 2500 children across the country.  An estimated 1,500 Dentsu Aegis Network employees across offices in Mumbai, New Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata, Chennai and Kochi were engaged to execute the project, “Champions For Children.”
In India, the key focus of the ‘One Day For Change’ (ODFC) programme was held across four categories – digital, education, health and entertainment.
 
As part of the digital push, the network’s Delhi office visited Kushi Rainbow Girls Home to donate   laptops and conduct sessions on excel & IT skills. Meanwhile, the employees also visited the Earth Saviours Foundation and interacted with more than 300 mentally challenged children.  

In Mumbai, Dentsu Aegis Network touched the lives of 1100 kids across nine child welfare organisations. It is pertinent to note here that the Dentsu Aegis Network employees also created a Fun Fair for more than 200 children suffering from various forms of cancer to entertain them all through the day.

The event was attended by none other than Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, the Chief Guest for the day at the Tata Memorial Hospital, Parel.

The company also arranged an educational excursion for 100 underprivileged children, supported by Umang Foundation, to Nehru Science Centre, Worli. Additionally, the group set-up a dental health check-up camp at Madras Wadi, a slum area near Worli, where 300 children turned up for the event.
The network was sub-divided into teams of 20-50 in Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore and Kochi. Each team visited a particular child welfare shelter to execute a variety of creative workshops.

Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai also tied up with various hospitals and NGOs to organise a blood donation drive for kids with Thalassemia and Cancer. Over 250 bottles of blood were donated by Dentsu Aegis Network staff across all regions.

Danke presents India Nightlife Convention & Awards, an initiative by Kickstart Entertainment and National Restaurant Association of India




Mumbai, Thursday, 2nd June 2016: Today, Kickstart Entertainment and National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) announced the launch of an intellectual property created to bring India’s nightlife industry together. Danke presents India Nightlife Convention and Awards (INCA) 2016 in association with Johnnie Walker, will take place on the 17th and 18th July 2016 at the St Regis Hotel in Mumbai. It will be the first platform specifically designed to bring together and recognize the various stakeholders of one of India’s most vibrant and fastest growing Industries – Nightlife.

The idea behind conceptualizing INCA is to support and uplift the bar and nightlife industry as a majority of revenue generated contributes largely to the economy of the country. The convention includes business and informational workshops with some of the industry’s most influential entrepreneurs with an aim to expand the presence of exhibitors and enhance the scope of Mentorship program. It is an event by the industry, of the industry and for the industry. 
INCA 2016 will be a two day business convention for attendees within the bar and the nightlife industry from across India encompassing business and informational workshops with the industry’s most influential entrepreneurs and business specialists. NRAI the voice of the restaurant and nightlife industry will be acting as the knowledge partner across India, contributing its considerable expertise to develop convention programming, workshop content and ensuring the presence of nationally and internationally renowned speakers. Apart from this, NRAI will also act as a facilitator for brands & categories that need access to the bar and nightclub owners. The convention will include a Mentorship Program sponsored by NRAI where industry professionals and renowned hospitality spokespersons would be guiding and imparting knowledge within students and budding entrepreneurs. 
Following the convention would be the awards ceremony recognizing the best from the bar and nightlife industry. What differentiates these awards from the quintessential nightlife awards is the transparency with which each participate will be reviewed. INCA will be announcing the categories for the awards where participants from across the country stand a chance to compete against each other.  Carefully selected jury members from our main metros (Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Goa, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kolkata) will contribute towards finalizing the entrants from their respective cities. Concurrently, bars from across India have the opportunity to enroll themselves as well as the public can vote for their favourite nightspot. An appointed national jury will then nominate the best under each of the categories. The world’s most credible and leading professional auditors Ernst & Young will be reviewing and tabulating the entire process revealing top finalists in each category. Also in a first, these awards will be at a National level for the Industry by the Industry Insiders, making them even more prestigious and revered.
