Publicis Drugstore launches Meet The Makers to unite the start-up space with the real estate sector


 



Mumbai, August 17, 2016: Publicis Groupe’s innovation initiative – Drugstore has started its India operations with the first of its initiatives targetting the Real Estate Sector. Publicis Drugstore is an innovation incubator, which incubates innovation ideas/projects on behalf of the Publicis Groupe clients around the world in collaboration with the startup sector. These innovation incubation programs range from supper chats with CXOs, to hackathons and long format innovation projects.  ‘Meet The Makers’ is one such format which allows for an evening of intimate interaction between large  companies and curated start ups in their respective sector. This experiential event was designed and created in partnership with Zone Startups, an organisation that incubates and accelerates start-ups in the Indian ecosystem. The event was held at their operations space at the iconic  Bombay Stock Exchange Building at Dalal Street.

Key speakers at the event included Anil K Nair who leads the Publicis Drugstore initiative in India and Ajay Ramasubramaniam, Director, Zone Startups India. Anil K Nair, the ‘entrepreneur -in-residence’ for Publicis  Drugstore believes that the biggest business disruptor and saviour going into this decade will be an attitude of inside out innovation within large traditional organisations that will need to be encouraged & cultivated. This and a symbiotic relationship building between these organisations and the start up sector. “It’s a win-win for both. And we at Publicis Groupe are determined to make these dialogues happen for the overall good of the market place and the consumer at large”. Speaking at the event, he added: “The start-up space has been responsible for some of the biggest market disruptions across the world. Be it Uber or Air Bnb, they have all gone to redefine the space they were conceived in. We could have gone the traditional way and approached the fin-tech or other sectors which have such interfaces all the time. We however, have focused on real estate as it is one industry that needs the kind of innovations that start ups bring with them.”

Further Mr. Ajay Ramasubramaniam added, “The start-up scene is well ahead in terms of infrastructure, support and finance. It is only recently that the Indian scenario has started catching up. There is still some time when crowdsourcing and crowd-funding will become the norm for our nation, until then we are focused on creating the right kind of environment with the assistance of the Publicis Groupe to incubate, accelerate and facilitate the transition of the start-ups to their relevant industrial sector.”

Some of the notable  startup pitches that came up were Phynart, a home automation start-up that incorporates Artificial Intelligence and data mining in traditional automation systems and  Enso Immersive, a R & D establishment driving research in technologies like Augmented Virtual Reality for developing applications and platforms across industries like real estate.
The real estate industry was represented by leading players like Omkar, Tata Housing, Kalpataru , Godrej properties & Puranik.

Flipkart Now On Kotak Mahindra Bank’s Mobile Banking App





     


First Bank to offer seamless in-app shopping experience
Mumbai, August 11, 2016: Kotak Mahindra Bank (KMB), today, announced the availability of Flipkart’s mobile site in its mobile banking app, which gives the customer a secure in-app shopping environment. KMB has been expanding the scope of offerings on its mobile banking app, and this move further strengthens its mStore which already allows booking of air tickets, hotels and bus tickets.
Shopping on Flipkart via Kotak’s mStore has its advantages. Customers can shop seamlessly and check-out faster with choice of relevant payment options, as billing and delivery details are already available with KMB. Furthermore, in-app shopping reduces transaction failures, and allows them to track cancellations and refunds in the same window. They only need to register once on the app to start shopping.
Customers can also enjoy special periodical offers, in addition to attractive prices by Flipkart. Shopping on Flipkart m-site via KMB’s mobile banking app will not attract any additional charges.

Mumbai, 6th August 2016:  Recognized as India’s Oscars of the retail jewellery industry, the 12th Gemfields Retail Jeweller India Awards 2016 (RJIA) in association with Evara was held on August 6, 2016 at The Grand Hyatt, Santacruz. Hosted by the charming Rochelle Maria Rao, the evening was an exciting affair that was graced by the presence of celebrated personalities from the Bollywood fraternity. Present at the event were Ileana D'Cruz, Tanishaa Mukerji, Divya Kumar Khosla, Kainaat Arora, Michelle Poonawalla, Rouble Nagi and Nawaz Modi Singhania.

Over the years, The Retail Jeweller India Awards have come to be recognized as the most coveted and prestigious acknowledgment of talent within the Indian retail jewellery industry. It is a platform that showcases the creative genius of India’s leading jewellery houses. This year’s Award witnessed more than 1000 entries from across country and finally, after two rigorous rounds of judging only 90 designs made it as the final nominations.

This year, RJIA introduced a new category- The Jewellery Buff’s Choice Award. Judged by bold and ambitious millennial achievers and youth icons like Nishka Lulla, Sanah Kapur and Sanjana Patel, awards in this category will reflect the fancies of young and upward-mobile India.

The notable guests & jury walked the red carpet donning stunning jewellery pieces made with diamonds, rubies & emeralds. The awards witnessed a celebration of excellence in Indian jewellery Industry with the highest rated jewellery pieces being duly acknowledged by awards for their design distinctiveness.

Rouble Nagi (Artist & Muralist) who dazzled the red carpet with her Neeta Lulla dress, said, “I have seen the awards grow in stature and scale over the last three years of my association as a jury.”

Nawaz Modi Singhania (Fitness & Lifestyle Expert & Artist) said, “Well, this is the first year I am associated with RJIA and I am really excited about it. I am happy to judge so many different and diverse collections. My personal preference in jewellery is style & innovation.”
Michelle Poonawalla (Director, Poonawalla Group of Engineering Companies) said,”TRJIA is a platform that has been a frontrunner in its space. It is really nice to see such talented jewellery designs from across the country. I personally like jewellery that is classy and works well with my personality. Today I am wearing ‘Sweetheart earrings by Nirav Modi’ and my dress is by a relatively new designer called ‘Needles and Thread’.

Illeana D’Cruz (Actress), who chose to wear a comfortable & classy suit instead of a gown said,This is a lovely event and it is especially fascinating for women; obviously for the love they have for jewellery. I saw some really unique and gorgeous designs, thanks to the amazingly talented nominees of RJIA.”

Rochelle Maria Rao (Model & Actress) who hosted the event said, “I have been associated with RJIA for a couple of years now and it feels great to be a part of it. They are the ‘next level ante’ and it is leading India in the field of jewellery designing. My favorite piece of jewelry is earring and as you can see today I am wearing a statement earring which adds the much needed bling to my look.”

Tanishaa Mukerji (Actress) said,I think RJIA is a great platform to celebrate jewellery and I think RJIA is rightly the Oscars of jewellery awards. My choice of jewellery is very subjective and I enjoy wearing different kinds of jewellery. Today I have kept it simple and I am wearing just a finger ring.”
