Mumbai, 3 March 2016: Lovers of the best Hollywood movies in India are in for a fiesta of Gold Class movie watching. This March, MN+ will feature some of the best films starring Johnny Depp, acknowledged by peers and critics worldwide as one of the most gifted and talented Hollywood actors. The Johnny Depp specials will air in the popular MN+ property, Walk of Fame, starting the 5th of March, every Saturday night at 9.

Films to be aired in the Johnny Depp Walk of Fame on MN+include the 2005 musical fantasy, Charlie & The Chocolate Factory. Directed by Tim Burton, the storyline of the movie moves along with young Charlie, accompanied by Willy Wonka, in a guided tour he has won through the most magnificent chocolate factory in the world.

Another remarkable movie is Dark Shadows, a 2012 American horror comedy based on the gothic television soap operaDark Shadows. The film is about an imprisoned vampire, Barnabas Collins, who is set free and returns to his ancestral home, where his dysfunctional descendants are in need of his protection.

The third film on the Johnny Depp Walk of Fame on MN+ this month is Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Based on the hit Broadway musical, the movie is the story of the infamous Benjamin Barker, aka Sweeney Todd, who sets up in London a barber which is the basis for a sinister partnership with his fellow tenant, Mrs. Lovett. For the movie, Depp was bestowed the National Movie Awards, UK in the Best Performance – Actor category.

Another movie is the American science-fiction-thriller, The Astronaut's Wife, written and directed by Rand Ravich and featuring Charlize Theron with Depp, is about how, after an explosion in space and the subsequent two-minute radio-out period, two astronauts return home to their wives. Only – now that they’re back, it’s revealed that they're not the same as they were.

Interestingly, Depp is a movie buff with a somewhat encyclopedic knowledge of older films. He loves watching animated films with his daughter such as Shrek (2001) and Finding Nemo (2003). For movie connoisseurs like Depp, this festival is a can’t-miss event.

Girls On Top is a story of three determined young girls who live together and focuses on all aspects of being today’s modern day Indian woman. Viewers will get to see three young women - TV Producer Isha (Played by Saloni Chopra), Tabloid Journalist Gia (played by Barkha Singh), and DJ Revati (played by Ayesha Adlakha) as they make their way through life in a ruthless city like Mumbai and how they grow stronger together as they face one difficult circumstance after another.

On being a part of MTV Girls On Top, Saloni Chopra said, “I play the role of Isha in the show. Isha is extremely resilient and head- strong and is the go- to person in the house. She's basically a balance of Revati and Gia, a bit of both the extremes. I can so relate to the character and I am very excited to be playing a role like this. We’ve been shooting for a bit and the three of us have come so close already that it doesn’t even feel like we’re acting anymore. I think that’s what makes this role even more special!”

Talking about being a part of MTV Girls On Top, Barkha Singh said, “The concept of MTV Girls On Top really intrigued me and without giving it a second thought I took up the opportunity of being a part of it. I play the role of an aspiring novelist who’s working as a page 3 journalist to pay the bills but in reality she is not at all glamour struck and half the time doesn’t understand how she’s supposed to deal with it all. While she loves having fun with her friends and she’s otherwise really nice, when it comes to love, she’s rather cynical…but you’ll see how she evolves as some things change her life drastically!”

Elaborating on the novel concept of the show, Ayesha Adlakha said, “I am really kicked about being a part of a show like Girls On Top which brings the best of both worlds. I play the role of Revati who wants to produce electronic music & DJ at International gigs but ends up playing at weddings because being taken seriously as a DJ when you’re a new girl in a big scene, is not easy. This role is doubly special to me because not only am I playing a character that I completely relate to – I mean, I’m a Delhi girl – living in Mumbai and making my dreams come true, but also because I started off as an executive at MTV and I’m now acting in an MTV show! Disney's Zootopia has characters based on 'Lion King' and more creature hair than Frozen! Record breaking special effects in store for fans

Phase One



ADD IT UP -- There are 64 unique species in Zootopia and most species are unique in topology: elephants have trunks, pigs have snouts; some animals have hooves, some have paws; some have three fingers, some have two.
HAIRY SITUATION – While researching the variety of animals that would inhabit Zootopia, filmmakers learned that not all fur is the same. A strand of polar bear fur is clear—it’s the light reflecting off of it that makes it appear white—and a strand of fox fur is dark at the root, getting lighter till its red tip. Artists strived to replicate their findings to ensure that the animals in “Zootopia” were believable.

LITTLE LAMB – Artists designing Assistant Mayor Bellwether were inspired by the lambs in the old Disney films “Make Mine Music” and “Melody Time.”

FANCY – Artists crafted six unique outfits for Assistant Mayor Bellwether. The chosen fabric, naturally, was wool. Her outfits include a houndstooth dress, a blazer and a little bell in honor of her moniker. She also has an orange dress with a scissor pattern that represents shears.

HEAR ME ROAR – Artists were inspired by Mufasa from Disney’s classic film “The Lion King” when creating the look of Mayor Lionheart.

THE EYES HAVE IT -- Clawhauser may not share a real cheetah’s svelte shape, but he does sport the animal’s iconic tear marks—markings that run from the inside corners of his eyes down to the outside edges of his mouth.

ROLL IN THE HAY – In an effort to bolster the animal-feel, artists added bits of debris—hay, leaves, sticks—in the coats of animals like the big sheep and Yax the Yak.

HERE KITTY KITTY – Nathan Warner, director of cinematography-layout, got a pat on the back from a real-life cheetah during their research trip to Africa. The rescued animal that caretakers had introduced to the filmmakers seemingly took offense to the camera Warner carried and leapt up to let him know. Both filmmaker and cat were just fine following the event.

STIFF UPPER LIP – When artists realized that real rabbits actually have a split upper lip, they decided to forego authenticity in this case and kept Judy’s lip all together.

TWEEZE ME – Advances in technology allowed filmmakers to trim the fur that fell beneath clothing so that the garments hung correctly. Previously, hairs that intersected with an item of clothing—like Bolt’s collar—had to be plucked one by one, which would have been an impossible feat in a film like “Zootopia.”

Priyanka floors her co-actors!


Priyanka Chopra’s dedication to her character on the sets of her upcoming cop-drama Jai GangaaJal earned her a lot of respect from the cast and crew of the Prakash Jha film. And among her new-found fans is her co-actor in the film Murli Sharma. “As an actor, we have always respected her for her acting skills, but she is as fantastic a person as she is an actor,” shares Murli.
Elaborating why, he reveals that while most stars tend to be very particular about their entourage, Priyanka actually asked her trainer to help him out. He says, “I got a neck condition because of which I wasn’t being able to work out properly. And work outs were important especially in this film as there is a lot of action involved. When Priyanka got to know about it, she asked her personal trainer to help me out. That was a sweet gesture on her part that just shows what a lovely person she is.”

Plans to launch a premium inner wear brand

Mumbai, February 2016: T T Ltd., a leading textile player, celebrated the completion of 25 years of public listing by ringing the Silver Bell in Bombay Stock Exchange. The glittering function hosted by Chairman-Founder Dr. R. C. Jain was presided by Padma Bhushan awardee Shri D. R. Mehta (ex-SEBI Chairman) in the International Convention Centre of BSE in Mumbai.
Apart from the Chairman of the Company, Shri Sanjay Jain (Managing Director, T T Ltd.) and Smt. Jyoti Jain (Jt Managing Director, T T Ltd.) the gathering was addressed by Shri Nayan Mehta (CFO, BSE), Padma Shri V. R. Mehta (Independent Director) and Chief Guest Shri D.R. Mehtaji. Other dignitaries include Shri Navratan Dugar (Director, T T Limited), Shri V. K. Kothari (Director, T T Limited), Shri Mahesh Mehta (Independent Director) and Shri Sunil Mahnot (Director Finance, T T Ltd.).
The Company’s management announced their plans to launch a premium innerwear brand in the near future as part of their new strategy to move towards the fashion side of the fibre to fashion spectrum. This move will help enhance margins and build the brand equity of the Company. The Company has enhanced their knitwear range to become a garment company from an innerwear company.
Chairman and Founder of T T Group, Dr R C Jain explained the journey of the Company and its evolution as a Fibre to Fashion Company as it spread its wings not only across India but also across 65 countries. Brand T T under which all products are sold has become a well known brand with registrations in India and many other nations. He paid special emphasis on the principles of the company and its employees who have been the two important pillars on which the Company laid its foundation and grew. He humbly accepted that, “I wasn’t self made as said by many, but was made by all the people who walked with me over the long journey spanning almost 50 years.” He also dispelled the belief that T T was a family managed company, and said that it was as professional as any other company if not more. It has the distinction of having 3 IIM graduates on its Board, one IIT Professor, 3 qualified professionals and a NIFTian. He also shared his 3 inspirations – Father of Nation Gandhiji, Saint Kabir and Poet Thiruvallur.
Managing Director Shri Sanjay Jain laid down the vision and roadmap of the Company with clarity and crispness. He exuded confidence and commitment to take the Company to new heights. He said, “Both, the Company and the Indian Textile Industry was at a very important threshold from where we would see both coming out with open wings like a butterfly comes out from its cocoon to dazzle the world with new colors and life.”
Shri Jain felt opportunities for the Company were enormous and the only limiting factor would be human resources. He further said that, “Going forward the Company would focus on value addition and brand building to create a strong portfolio of product lines to address the need of the middle class people of India. Value for money which has been an important principle of the company would continue to stay so in the years to come. Volume growth and occupying market space would be given special focus to ensure it reaches out to the heart of India.”
Shri Jain added, “T T Ltd. plans to be a 50:50 Company in terms of exports and domestic sales. Hence, going forward, focus is going to be on more value added garments business, brand building and focusing on the domestic market – which is the fastest growing opportunity for us. Our network in rural and semi urban markets is expected to pay rich dividends to us. I would like to highlight our growing business in China – we see our cotton based textiles business growing rapidly. Vietnam, Ethopia and the United States also provide interesting opportunities. We shall make structural and organizational changes to target higher growth rates of 20-25% per annum.”
T T Ltd. has to its credit many firsts in the industry, one of which is that it was the first garment company to get listed on a stock exchange in 1990.
Joint Managing Director Smt. Jyoti Jain while welcoming everyone said, “The Company wants to deliver value to everyone connected to it and the endeavour is to always connect the dots to create a happy and peaceful fraternity around it.” She further said, “The Company wants to march ahead joining hands with each and every person.”
Emphasis over time would shift down the line I.e. Away from fiber and closer to fashion to reduce the beta of the company fortunes and ensure more stability. While it would not close its eyes to exports ever, however it would lay more emphasis on domestic market (hope to move to a 50:50 ratio).
The function ended with the “Ringing of the Sliver Bell” which in words of the Mrs Jyoti Jain, JMD, "This ceremony doesn’t mark the completion of 25 years, but the beginning of its journey to a Golden Horizon I.e. Golden Bell.”
The recent awards in last 3 years – Master Brand (2012), India Top 100 SME (2013 & 2014), India’s Small Giant Award by Honourable Cabinet Minister (2014), Silver Trophy for Yarn Exports by Honourable Cabinet Minister (2014) and India’s Promising Brand (2015) all show more promise and hope for future than a pat for the past.
Last but not the least the Company is fully conscious of its responsibility to society and its CSR spending has always been much above the recent norms set by statute. It reaffirmed its commitment to reach out to society in field of education, health and sports etc directly and through its Group Charitable Trust.

PARAMOUNT PICTURES ANNOUNCES START OF PRINCIPAL PHOTOGRAPHY ON “BAYWATCH”

Paramount Pictures today announced that principal photography has commenced on “BAYWATCH,” starring Dwayne Johnson (“CENTRAL INTELLIGENCE,” “SAN ANDREAS,” “FAST & FURIOUS” franchise) and Zac Efron (“NEIGHBORS,” “MIKE AND DAVE NEED WEDDING DATES”). Production will take place in Miami and Savannah. 

The film will be released on May 19, 2017.

Seth Gordon (“HORRIBLE BOSSES,” “IDENTITY THIEF”) is directing the film from a screenplay most recently written by Damian Shannon & Mark Swift and Barry Schwartz. Beau Flynn (“SAN ANDREAS,” “HERCULES”), Ivan Reitman (“GHOSTBUSTERS,” “UP IN THE AIR”), and Michael Berk, Doug Schwartz (“SOUL SURFER”) & Greg Bonann, creators of the iconic “Baywatch” television series, are producing. Uber inaugurates Center of Excellence in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, 24th February, 2016: Uber, the smartphone app that connects riders with drivers at the push of a button has today inaugurated its Center of Excellence in Hyderabad, India. This is the first of its kind state of the art facility for Uber in Asia. Following the agreement signed with the Government of Telangana in July 2015 to invest US$ 50 million in the state, Uber’s Center of Excellence will help create quality jobs and provide efficient support experience for riders and driver partners in India.

This modern Center will house a team of over 500 customer service specialists who will provide 24/7 assistance to both riders and driver partners. Uber has already hired close to 30% of the total team strength and has started support operations from its Center of Excellence in Hyderabad.

The Center of Excellence is designed to further improve product and operations, with a core focus to provide specialised support for critical incidents that require immediate attention. Skill India will ensure maximum support in providing efficient and trained workforce for the railways in the country. We are already working in conjunction with the Ministry of Railways to bridge the demand and supply in the Indian Railways and also collaborate on infrastructure needs for skill trainings.”

Launch of the book ‘The Village of Pointless Conversations’



After the success of Homi Adajania's film Finding Fanny, the makers are now released a book based on the film. Written by Kesri Khambatta, the book is titled The Village Of Pointless Conversation. 

The book was launched in the presence of Twinkle Khanna, Homi Adajania and Naseerudin Shah. They even read a few excerpts from the book!

The talented duo who will be sharing space for Dinesh Vijan’s directorial debut Raabta, were spotted practicing at Mahalaxmi Race Course Mumbai.

Shakira asks ‘Zootopia’ makers to create her character ‘curvier’ with bigger hips!!


Singing sensation and superstar Shakira who all is set to star in Disney’s much awaited ‘Zootopia’ as a slink gazelle, reportedly asked the studio to make character “curvier” and have bigger hips!

The Colombian singer voices an animated animal called Gazelle, in the new movie due for release on 4th March 2016!
However, when Shakira was first introduced to her animal alter ego, she noticed that creators had made her “too slim” and as she wanted Gazelle to be a strong role model for children, she said to make the animal bigger!!
“I love that she is opinionated and she cares about her people. She feels she has a social responsibility. I feel like her and I have a common denominator. When the directors told me about her I said ‘That is me’, but she was too slim so I asked them to give her more curves and put more meat on the bones. She needs bigger hips so she has them now.” said the singer!
Shakira also said that she has “things in common” with Gazelle from the colour of eyes and hair to her dress sense. She added that she relates to Gazelle’s sense of “social responsibility”, awareness that she “has an impact on the people who follow her and listen to her”.

After the splendid success of Disney’s Oscar nominated Inside Out and The Good Dinosaur, the studio is all set to kick-start 2016 with an unusual and exciting new animation in the shape of ZOOTOPIA releasing on 4th March 2016!!
