A series on canvas By Kishore Pratim Biswas

One of the India’s significant expressionist independent artist, KISHORE PRATIM BISWAS is a journey of around 13 years of modern contemporary Art movement. He opted for an unconventional thought, style in his painting. Born in Kolkata in the state of West Bengal in 1971, he was fond of art since childhood. He did his graduation in Fine Art from Government College of Art & Craft, Kolkata in 1997. In 2009 he came in Maharastra, and permanently setup a studio in Mumbai.

The talented artist started off by primarily painting in watercolors. However, he gradually switched to painting Acrylic on canvas. His art practice stands on a solid intellectual platform and his works reflect a unique streak, where in color is of great importance, and form happens to be only incidental. He also applies use of the texture in the canvas as well as experimental method to finish his paintings. On the other hand, Kishore chose to experiment with an array of mediums like acrylic, oil, watercolor, mix media, charcoal & soft pastels.

He had his solo exhibition in Kolkata in 1996, and a year later at the various group shows around the India. He is not as like renowned contemporary artist in India, still a fact now acknowledged by the market, many collectors of modern Indian art now slowly collect his works.
Story & Concept note about the show:
I was born in a place where I had the opportunity to see STEAM LOCOMOTIVES. It was 1976 to 1988; throughout the day I was watching the steam locomotives, it was running in front of me with the sound of whistling and steam. For me it was big nostalgia. The huge presence of his body, with the color of dark black and white smoke, it was making me crazy. I never forget the smells of steam. Everything encouraged me to bring them down at the surface of my canvas.
I went to the locomotive workshop day after day to study them from a close look. I remember that, the using of black, brown, sepia and white color palette was making me extremely mad. I seriously had fallen in love to study of steam locomotive engine. I felt the huge weight of the engine, when it was passing through me. I loved everything about them.
The fireman and driver were always in a particular dress of dark blue with a cap. All time they were looked black because of the dust of coal and grease. I loved to sketch them, study their faces with pen and ink, charcoal and soft pastel pencil. I was always being touchy to draw them. I tried to catch their emotions in their character. Watching their lifestyles, listening their story, sometimes I might be their family friend. Sometimes they lunched under the engine, sometimes sitting in the line, sometimes in the engine. They have a particular aluminum lunchbox. In lunch time they were chatting out family story and all. Occasionally I used to join with them. Still now I recall the smell of food.
That is how the Nostalgia of steam locomotives came.

Rhea Chakraborty's date clash

Sonali Cable was set  to release on big screen on October 10, but now it has been pushed to October 17.  Rohan wants his lead actress Rhea to promote the film for some more time; hence the date of release was changed. But unfortunately it turns out that Yash Raj Films, which manages Rhea’s work, has not allotted Rhea’s dates to the filmmaker.

A inside source close of the filmmaker says, “YRF was informed in advance about this possible change of date and in any case, small budget films need to be promoted. So we need Rhea’s dates but YRF has not given her dates for a week. It’s unfortunate that they are doing this with regards to their talent working for another producer.”

Rohan Sippy admits confirms that they are currently facing issues with Rhea’s dates. “I don’t know if she can promote the film or not. But it’s strange that Rhea’s management is not reverting to us about her dates. Since she plays the title character, we can’t finalize the promotion schedule,” he says.

The filmmaker adds that young actors should understand the importance of promoting a film, even the super stars make themselves free and promote it.
“This helps their producers create visibility for them. I don’t understand how YRF can have double standards. Recently, they pushed ahead Dawaat-e-Ishq’s release and I’m sure they expected Aditya and Parineeti to promote their film for some more time. It’s a given that a film has to be promoted closer to its release. Hopefully, we will get Rhea’s dates,” he says.

Rhea’s spokesperson from YRF said, “While Sonali Cable is a big and important film for Rhea, she has several contractual commitments that were finalised months in advance. Bank Chor, where she plays the lead opposite Ritesh Deshmukh, is just one of them. She will do her best to promote the film and do all that is required of her.”

Hrithik Roshan brings the Fedora back in vogue.

Bollywood Greek God‪ Hrithik Roshan, who is often touted the hottest and most desirable man in the country, is not just looked up to for his skills onscreen be it his acting, dancing or his ability to perform mindblowing stunts,  but also for his ability to sport new fashion trends offscreen with effortless ease.

The actor who has been the cynosure of all eyes at his public appearances ,seems to have developed a fondness for hats-fedoras, in particular.

The superstar was seen sporting the fedora at Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s party for Priyanka Chopra and later at Karan Johar’s bash and has also been spotted wearing it during his various trips to the airport not to mention the promotions of his upcoming action entertainer.

While in Hollywood, the eccentric Johnny Depp popularized the fedora hat by sporting it regularly  both on and off the red carpet, it surely seems like Hrithik, who like Depp, enjoys a vast female fan following and is unafraid to experiment with roles,  has set the same trend here in Bollywood.

Kareena Kapoor Khan says “I refuse to go short

Head & Shoulders Brand Ambassador Kareena Kapoor Khan says “I refuse to go short because Saif loves my long luscious hair”

Actress Kareena Kapoor Khan advises couples to stay well groomed with no hairfall and dandruff to feel confident and keep the spark alive
Mumbai, 24th September, 2014: Bollywood diva and Head & Shoulders loyalist Kareena Kapoor Khan was seen sharing her personal experiences with beau Actor Saif Ali Khan and revealed secrets about what instantly drew her towards him. She disclosed Saif’s love for her long hair and her first romantic moment with him while shooting for Tashan.

Speaking of her association with Head & Shoulders Kareena said, “Often people miss out on how hairfall and dandruff could be seen between couples in a relationship. It’s a turnoff for both men and women when they see flakes of dandruff and hair lying around. Long, flowing hair is my USP and maintaining it can be tough for an actress. Saif loves my long luscious hair and I can only have long hair if I have no hair fall guaranteed by H&S anti-hairfall. I love it when Saif tells me that my hair looks beautiful & enjoys touching them. I have been using Head & Shoulders for more than a decade and it keeps my scalp healthy and clean further rescuing hair from the damage caused by modern lifestyles. H&S anti-hairfall for women and Hair Retain for Men give up to 100% dandruff free forever and up to 95% less hair fall* Making an effort to know how you look definitely rewards in different aspects of life.

I would like to encourage people to give ample attention to their hair in order to avoid any embarrassing moments while spending quality time with loved ones which can be caused due to hairfall and dandruff. I also urge men and women to go all out this festive season and play with their hair without lack of confidence & fear of hairfall as your look isn’t complete without the perfect hair.”

Speaking of her personal instances she added, “I always thought Saif was one of the best looking men I had come across, but we weren’t friends till we started working on Tashan. What instantly drew me to him was his sense of humor and love for adventure. We went on a motorcycle ride through the countryside and I think I surprised him by asking if I could go along. Imagine if I would have had hair fall when sitting close to him on a bike, it would of course have been a turn-off.”

Head & Shoulders with its new campaign “Pyaar mein No Side Effects” took up an initiative to bring people closer and relive their special moments without lack of confidence or ruined moments which can often be caused due to dandruff and eventually hair fall. The idea behind the campaign was to understand the physical and emotional phenomenon of hairfall and the effect it has on the youth today because hair plays a key role in the overall look and appearance of a person.

Renowned Psychologist and Relationship Expert Dr. Samir Rawat said, “A bad hair day can often make you feel less attractive resulting in foiling special moments between loved ones. Hairfall and dandruff today are extremely common hair woes and often act as spoilers during one’s special moment. Hair fall seen on the pillow or lying on the floor is a major turnoff for men and visible flakes of dandruff make women cringe.”

As a part of the campaign couples came together with Actress Kareena Kapoor Khan to share and relive their moments which were ruined due to hairfall and lack of grooming. The gorgeous actress Kareena as the grooming expert to these couples shared the significance of being well groomed for one another alongside sharing tips on how to avoid hairfall and dandruff in order to avoid ruined romantic moments. The actress interacted with couples on stage who were seen sharing their embarrassing moments due to hairfall and gave tips on how to save such situations in future and what she would have done if she was in their place.

Talking of the sequence Vijan Master said, “The film is very real, with true to life characters. I wanted the action sequence to look very realistic. There is no space for exaggeration in this film. The action in this film is extended emotion. We put in a lot of hard work to make the sequence look gritty and realistic. Abhay has emoted to perfection, I could not ask for more from him”.

And then I’m working with Vijan Master, one of the best”.

The action sequence was shot not just through seven days but through night shifts also. A chunk part of it was shot in a super market, being a real location it would only be available to the team at night. “This was the most hectic part of the schedule. We are all exhausted but every bit of it was worth the effort. I give full credit to my action director, Vijan Master and Abhay who has brought bit of emotion alive. We are all sleep deprived, but we have a packed schedule ahead in Mumbai. Power to my cast and crew”, signed off Sriram, director, SNAFU.
