Madhur Bhandarkar’s next Calendar Girls

Madhur Bhandarkar’s next titled Calendar Girls that revolves around the models who gain popularity after featuring in famous calendars has gone on floor this month. While everyone is aware that the film is being shot, no one is aware about the cast of the film since the director is shooting it at a guarded set.

Madhur is not entertaining any visitor while he is shooting the film and no one is allowed to carry mobile phones or cameras while the shoot is on. Not only this, Producer Sangeeta Ahir of Mangal Murti Films has made sure that apart from the cast, the whole crew signs a non disclosure agreement so that no information is leaked to any outsider.

Says Sangeeta Ahir, “Madhur has opted for five newcomers for the film and there is a strategy to talk about them at the right time. Right now our priority is to get done with the shoot and once we are closer to the release, a marketing campaign will initiate to talk about the girls who are being launched.”

Adds Madhur, “While we were looking for glamorous girls, it was important that they act well too since the film is heavy on content. I am happy that we managed to get the right cast.”

We heard the film shot on a lavish scale in Mumbai and at one of the exotic location abroad will have lots of glitz and glamour.

However, as all good things come to an end, the extraordinary dancer has finally bid adieu to COLORS’ dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. Pitted against child prodigy Akshat Singh in the face-off, Tara along with choreographer Jack missed the bus to the final six by a matter of a couple of points.

A wildcard contestant, Tara was lovingly rechristened Popo by anchor Manish Paul as she won accolades from the judges and audiences alike with her hot and happening moves.  During her journey the international dance show winner found herself in the bottom two at two separate occasions – once against television actor Kiku Sharda and a second time against Akshat Singh when she found herself ousted from the show. Being a seasoned dancer, Popo put up some stunningly memorable performances encapsulating various dance forms which wowed audiences. Always warm and smiling, the artiste cemented a place for herself in the hearts of one and all.

Homi Adajania's next Finding Fanny is surely standing out for its clutter-breaking content. The director has now shot a hilarious music video with Arjun Kapoor and Deepika Padukone for a song titled Shake Your Bootiya. The video will also feature Dimple Kapadia, Pankaj Kapur and Naseeruddin Shah. 

Homi says, "It was great fun! We put an empty dollhouse in front of the cast and they had no clue what they were reacting to! I wanted them to be impulsive and improvise and when you put all these guys together you really have no idea what'll happen but you know it'll be hilarious!"

Homi again roped in ace choreographer Shiamak Davar to choreograph this video. Shiamak says, "This song will be a highlight for the film! The music is very catchy and I had the best time choreographing it. The concept of the song is very different and the audience will love it! It’s an out-and-out fun song and people will be hooked on to the signature step!"

Already being called a film to watch out for, Finding Fanny releases on September 12. Produced by Maddock Films, the film is being presented by Fox Star Studios.

Bipasha Basu's make-up act

Bipasha Basu had decided to wear least make- up as her character required, while shooting for Creature 3D, but the actress had to change her plan by opting for more use of cosmetics when the film was close to its completion.

"She hadn't used a lot of cosmetics throughout the schedule of the film. But, while she was doing a chase sequence in the jungles of Ooty at night, she missed a step and had a bad fall. She got bruises on her face," says a source close to Bipasha.

As the bruises were noticeable, and film was near to completion, Bipasha had to use layers of make-up. The source further adds,” There were just four days left for the shooting schedule to conclude. So, Bipasha had to wear a lot of make-up to hide the bruises.”

When asked Bipasha about the incident, she says, "Shooting for stunt and action scenes is quite fun. But, unfortunately, I tripped and got a few scratches on my cheek. So, I had to use much more [quantity of cosmetics] than normal to conceal them. It was funny that I was wearing make-up to camouflage the bruises on one hand, and was using it to create some scars on my forehead [for the role] on the other."

Shahid Kapoor postpones Shandaar shoot for Haider.

Shahid Kapoor is very excited about his film Haider and he has delayed his London departure so that he can give time to Haider’s promotions before its release.

Haider is very close to Shahid’s heart. It was a challenging film for him and he has put in everything for his performance in Haider.

Shahid has been involved in the nitty-gritties of Haider right from shooting to the post production and promotions.

Post the riveting success of Ek Villian , sources reveal that producer Ekta Kapoor will be gifting director Mohit Suri a luxury automobile for giving the production house another 100 crore grossing film.

After Murder 2 and Aashiqui 2 , the success of Ek Villian has futhur gone to reiterate that Mohit Suri is one of the industry's most sought after directors. Always the one to do it his way, the director was lauded for his skills behind the camera by the audience and critics alike .

While the music of Ek Villian was the biggest highlight of the film , it came as no surprise especially since Mohit Suri who has always been associated with popular music that has struck a chord with the masses and classes alike, has always had an innate sense of music , which has reflected right from his first film .

Having impressed producer Ekta Kapoor, Mohit was in for a surprise when the Balaji headhoncho booked a luxury SUV for him.

Krzysztof Solek, President, Film Polska Productions ( the company that handled the international production of Salman Khans Kick in Poland)  talks about the economic viability and the infrastructure, besides tax benefits that the government offers and the technical expertise and an opportunity for making quality films within a reasonable budget.

When asked Krzysztof about the terms and conditions for those who want to shoot in Poland, he says, “No rules or conditions apply here. Except for light technicians who require local permit to handle high voltage. They could work together with Polish crew, without handling the electricity. But, most of the time, we have foreign technicians working with the locales. Poland with its long history of film-making has the best technicians in Europe. Every year, talented directors of photography pass out from the Polish Film School.”

He further adds,” Film Polska can help in all types of production and projects. As for advertising, most of the time it is straight forward line production. For films, we take into account the offers coming our way, including those from our partners.”

Film Polska was established as a private company by Krzysztof Solek and Maciej Zemojcin.

Bipasha had studied a lot about Brahmarakshas before doing 'Creature 3D'. She started taking help of the pandit after she began to experience nightmares related to Brahmarakshas.

A source close to the actress,says “Bipasha is getting ready to travel south to do a special puja (ritual prayers) to ward off the Brahmarakshas that is haunting her ever since acting in 'Creature 3D', in which the creature is a Brahmarakshas.”

The actress is expected to visit Thirunakkara Mahadeva temple in Kottayam, Kerala, following the advice of a Hindu scholar, towards the end of August.

Since Vikram Bhatt bought Brahmarakshas into his film from Kerala, the pandit has asked Bipasha to visit and do the ritual prayer at the place of its origin.
