On invitation of Filmi Box we got a chance to meet producer Dr. Sanjay Patole at music release of his maiden film “Riwayat” based on shocking issue of female foeticide. Film is releasing on 7^th Sept all over. Here is a brief chat with Dr. Sanjay Patole…….

Q : What provoked you to produce this film ?

A : First of all I would like to thanks Mr. Narendra Singh & Mr. Arshad Siddique of Filmi Box as because of them I am able to release “Riwayat” in India as I am settled in Australia, and by profession I am Professor of neonatology at the University of Western Australia and my colleague Dr. Ajay Rane is the founding Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology at James Cook University, Queensland, Australia, we both are motivated to preserve life one as an obstetrician and the other as a neonatologist since last 25 years, we have been saving many infants life in our entire carrier, I have even saved a child who was just weighing 450 grams, by studies we came to know that about 100 million baby girls are missing from this world since 1984 - 40 million from India alone, this provoked us to do something on this issue, and we though cinema is the best media by which we can pass on a message to save female foeticide because the practice of female foeticide is still rampant judging by the falling female to male baby ratio in India.

Q : Why did you selected  new actors instead of stars ?

A : Established actors are having a particular image, whereas new actors are not, this was the main reason we took Samapika for main protagonist in film along with Khalid Siddique, Salil Ankola, Achint Kaur, Sourabh Dubey, Aditya Lakhia, Narendra Jha, Rajendra Gupta, Mangal Kenkre, Gauri Kulkarni, Major Vikram, Rakhi Mishra, Tanya Tiwari & Sayaji Shinde in main roles. These actors can justify their characters.

Q : Your director Vijay Patkar is a well known comedian in Hindi & Marathi cinemas, what made you to select him as your doctor ?

A : I knew Vijay since many years, so I can understand that there is a serious person behind his comic image, beside this he has made a hard hitting film in Marathi film ‘Ek Unad Diwas’, so I was confident that he can give justice to this film. Beside Vijay I have good technical team like dialogues by Imtiyaz Hussein, music by Sushil Lalji. Songs are rendered by stalwart singers Shaan, Kailash Kher, Shreya Ghoshal, and the legendary Jagjit Singh and lyrics are by Sudhakar Sharma and Nusrat Badr. Cinematography is by Suresh Suvarna, art by Yunus Pathan, sound Shrikant Kamble, and editing by Dinesh Mengade.

Q : Do you think “Riwayat” will stop killing of female foeticide ?

A : At least we are trying, I believe  audience will be forced to think on this, even  Millennium Star Mr. Amitabh Bachchan expressed his feelings in an event, where he said ‘how we can congratulate ourselves as a superstar nation when we lose millions of female infants to foeticide’. Recently, even Super Star Aamir Khan brought this issue in light in the very first episode of his mega talk show ‘Satyamev Jayate’. Our film has achieved worldwide recognition by winning 5 awards and 12 nominations in 12 international film festivals – an outstanding achievement for an unusual commercial film that handles a serious social issue while still retaining all the color, songs, and dances of Bollywood films.

First Music Album of singer & actress Parveen Khan’s “KINAARA” was launched with great funfair at Presidential Hall, Khar Gymkhana, Mumbai on 1^st June 2012 by hands of veteran Music Director Ravindra Jain, album is released by Venus Cassettes & Records, and is produced by IQRA Productions. Function was well attended by huge number of media persons along with celebrities and singers like music director Shravan Rathore (Nadeem-Shravan), Dharmesh Tiwari of CINTAA, singer Ravi Tripathi & Altamash Faridi along with Munna Ji of Venus Cassettes. A cake cutting ceremony was held after the preview of videos of album KINAARA by Ravindra Jain & Parveen Khan. The entire event was organized by Arun Fatehpuri.

ABOUT PARVEEN KHAN

Singer and Actress Parveen Khan hails from a musical family from Pune and in her childhood time she was attracted toward music because her parents were occasionally use to sing Sufiyana Kallams on various Dargahs, and during her school days she use to take part in different functions, one of her teacher was so impressed by her singing ability that she use to provoke her to take up music as her career, which she did and now currently she is being trained by veteran music director Ravindra Jain from last few years.

Now “KINAARA” is her first music album released by Champak Jain of Venus Cassettes & Records and produced by IQRA Productions which has 7 songs rendered and performed by Parveen Khan (4 solo numbers & 3 duets with Suresh Wadkar, Javed Ali, Ravi Tripathi & Altamash Faridi) with lyrics & music by Ravindra Jain.

“ Kahin To Gard Udey, Ya Kahin Ghubar Dikhey ” is complete picture of   someone  waiting  for  someone  to  emerge  from  somewhere. Total  loneliness has been explained so beautifully by Gulzaar in this Ghazal.

Mitali , when she sings “ Kal Ki Raat ” she brings a distant past so close as last night….

All these songs have been finely composed by  Bhupinder  Singh.

 The only duet “ Neeli  Neeli Ankhiyon Se Jhanke Re Samandar Jhankey ”in the album happened when Amandeep ,  son of Bhupinder Singh  was  composing  &  playing the   beautiful  rhythm on  his Guitar, which  inspired  Bhupinder so much that  he composed            it  in that spontaneous moment and Gulzaar  heard and he wrote  - “ Neeli   Neeli  Ankhiyon  Se  Jhanke  Re Samandar Jhankey Lehron Ke  Paon  Pe  Aaye  Aur  Jaaye  Geeli  Geeli  Ret  Pe  Kya  Likh  Jaaye  Kaisi Lakreen  Aanken  Aanken ”the most beautiful romantic duet song  in this album.

“ Aisi  Maddham Si Bolti Hai  Raat “  Bhupinder composed it in semi classical style .  It  takes you in a different  world  altogether.

Last  Ghazal is  a real landmark  poetry from Gulzaar Saab.                                                            It says “ Hawaas Ka Jahaan Saath  Le  Gaya,  Wo Sarey Badban  Saath Le Gaya ” Bhupinder composed a very simple tune for this.

A  combined effort by Gulzaar , Bhupinder  and Mitali “ AKSAR ” ……..                                                They want to share it with you.
