Kangana Ranaut turns director for Katti Batti

We have all seen Kangana showcase her phenomenal acting skills in her recent hits. However, this time around for her next film, we will see the actress step on the other side of the camera.

We hear that the actress has directed the first 7 minutes of her upcoming film, Katti Batti, in which she will be seen starring opposite Imran Khan.

The shots directed by Kangana feature both Imran and Kangana herself. They are playful and intimate scenes between the two.

It's a sacrosanct be‎lief that no one on sets can touch the camera apart from the cinematographer. So Kangana took the cinematographer's blessing and gave him Re 1 to allow her to use the camera. 

It was shot in one take at one go. 

The director of the film Nikhil Advani and Imran Khan were so impressed with ‎Kangana as it was not simple feat to handle camera, act, and shoot Imran.  

It’s a seven minutes uncut sequence, I had to shoot it by holding the camera in my hands which was the demand of the script. It was nerve racking but actors can do anything for a director who shows trust and faith in his actor abilities. Nikhil is one such director” shares Kangana Ranaut.

Director Nikhil Advani adds, “One of my favorite scenes in the film is one in which Kangana's character is shooting Imran playfully with an iPad. I wanted the scene to be authentic and organic so Tushar the DOP suggested that we should allow Kangana to shoot it herself. The lighting was completed, the set was cleared out and Kangana has shot the scene like a pro adding one more talent to her already overflowing basket.”

Swara proves to be a scene stealer yet again:

Swara Bhaskar has proven that her talent knows no bounds, not even the length of the role. The talented Raanjhanaa and Listen Amaya actress, was recently seen in her old role as straight speaking Payal in 2015's first blockbuster Tanu Weds Manu Returns.

While Swara's role was brief, it seems her performance and magnetic screen presence has caught eyeballs and appreciation. While Twitterati has been abuzz and fans have written in warmly praising her performance, looks like the royalty of Bollywood has also taken notice.

Trailer of Katti Batti to be out on 14th June

The trailer of Kangana Ranaut – Imran Khan starrer Katti Batti will be out this week, on 14th June.

It will be interesting to see this unique pair on screen for the first time.

Imran and Kangana will be coming together to launch the trailer on the 14th.

Directed by Nikhil Advani and produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur, Katti Batti will release on 18th September.

Ridhima in demand

Ridhima Sud, with her bangs and soulful eyes, is getting appreciation and applause from the global film fraternity for her sparkling debut as Noorie Sood in Zoya's Dil Dhadakne Do.

The Delhi girl who has a double-major in Political Science and Economics from New York University feels very lucky to have  landed up in this big Bollywood movie with a cast of stalwarts and working for her favourite director.

“I come from a conservative Punjabi family who couldn't believe a girl from their clan had an acting plan. My father is a businessman. But my mother’s family including my mother, is filled with academicians. Interest in acting is the last thing they expected from me,” says Ridhima who took off  to NY for a degree before arriving in Bollywood.

Ridhima landed the role of Noorie, the gorgeous daughter of a rich industrialist on board a luxury ship, after only one audition. Personally she didn't think her audition went well but she was lucky that Zoya saw something that convinced her of Noorie. Auditioning is an art form in itself adds the young girl who claims to be terrible at it. The casting director can really make or break your audition and in this case Nandini Shrikent was instrumental in helping her get the part.

She already has a three film deal with the makers of Vicky Donor of which one is already complete and she is really excited to start work on the next.

With Zoya Akhtar as her mentor and guide, Ridhima Sud is all set to make her own path in Bollywood.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan and his wife's special gift to Vidya Balan !

Vidya Balan recently traveled to Bhopal along with director Mohit Suri and producer Mahesh Bhatt as they organized a special screening of the upcoming love drama Humari Adhuri Kahani for Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chauhan and his family.

Chauhan and his wife Sadhna who are deep admirers of Vidya's work, gifted the actress a traditional Maheshwari and Chanderi saree, which are a part of the rich cultural heritage of Madhya Pradesh.

Doting husband Raj Kundra, recently organized a Gatsby style birthday surprise for wife , Shilpa Shetty Kundra, as she turned 40 this year - A celebration like never before, Kundra organized the surprise party month's in advance, booking an exotic location and flying down Shilpa's closest friends and family to a secluded island for a 3- day grand celebration.

Raj flew 30 guests to Sveti Stefan, a 15th century island in Montenegro (Montenegro is a small Balkan country with rugged mountains, medieval villages and a narrow strip of beaches along its Adriatic coastline)* for two nights and three days of complete madness, fun & partying.

Completing unaware of the celebration, Shilpa flew from London to the island, and was brought blind-folded to the venue by Raj, where her guests waited to spring the surprise on her at the 15th century fortress ,at a high-tea gathering.

This was followed by a Bond-themed party in the evening, where men wore tuxedos and women wore their high-end gowns at Royal Blue Garden, Villa Milocer.

Celebrations continued on Day - 2 with an extravagant breakfast ,followed by a barbecue party at the Queen's Private Beach - the day rounded up with a dinner celebration at Aman Sveti Stefan 's signature restaurant , one that had been visited by several Hollywood stars in the past.

Not only did Raj personally look into the itenary and ensured his guests were well looked after but also made a short film for Shilpa with videos of her friends and family wishing her a happy birthday and recapping their unforgettable memories with the birthday girl.

George Clooney has ‘The Talk’ with Mae Whitman’s Boyfriend

The adorable child actor from ‘Independence Day’ and ‘One Fine Day’ Mae Whitman has graduated to the role with the latest youth cult film, The DUFF “DESIGNATED UGLY FAT FRIEND”. The Movie has been pegged as the next “Mean Girls”. The Movie captures the journey of a young girl who has been branded the DUFF of her group and her struggle to break fee from the high school tag.

She thinks her work as a child actor both added to the bullying and helped her deal with it. “I’d be like, ‘Sorry you don’t like the shoes I wore, but I have to get up tomorrow and go to work, and I don’t have time to let that affect me.' ”

Mae has been making mark for herself as an actress for some time now. The actress has a pivotal role in the Emmy nominated series ‘Parenthood’ and “arrested Development”.

One of her early jobs was in 1996’s “One Fine Day,” playing George Clooney’s daughter. The two have remained close. “He’s the coolest, nicest guy on the planet,” she says. “I saw him a few years ago, when I was dating my now-ex-boyfriend, and he took the guy around the corner and gave him a talking-to — he warned him not to break my heart. He’s really the best.”

That romance ended, and now she’s in a better one, she says. “I’m dating a musician who’s really smart and nice, and it’s a cool adult relationship,” she says. “I realize I sound like I’m 10 years old, but it feels really healthy and respectful. I have been in a lot of tumultuous relationships.”

Maybe that’s helped Whitman with her reputation as “the best crier in the business”.

हृतिक रोशन और विवेक ओबेरॉय ने लॉरेन को दी सप्राईज बर्थडे पार्टी

Virendra K. Arora and Arjun N.Kapoor betting big on Bollywood with Kamal Haasan's Hindi starrer ‘Amar Hai’

Mumbai, June 8, 2015: Legendary actor-director, Kamal Haasan is set to make a Bollywood film ‘Amar Hai’, anaction thriller produced by Virendra K. Arora and Arjun N.Kapoor. Konkona Sen Sharma in Akira  last seen as Daayan in ‘Ek Thi Daayan, will now be seen as a cop in A R Murugadoss’ ‘Akira.

While earlier Tabu was approached for the role, she denied it citing a date clash with Nishikant Kamat's Drishyam, in which she plays a cop too.

The more recent Tabu in Nishikant Kamat’s Drishyam- will see the talented actress play a tough cop. Tabu will be seen reprising the role of a cop; we have always seen the talented actress do some meaningful cinema and her  roles have always stood out.Tabu essays the role of the tough top-cop looking to bring the criminals to book.

Inside Out star and top billed standup comic and actress Amy Poehler has now turned extremely badass with her very own action figure just launched!

Her latest movie Inside Out recently had a Cannes premiere that left all those present teary eyed and  choked up, calling the film one of the best that has been showcased in Cannes this year!

Her fans can now buy their very own action figurine of the hilarious actress who will see her mini version sold as a limited edition to Comic con goers soon!!

This comes as yet another happy news for Poehler who recently revealed how thrilled she was to be at Cannes for the very first time! The Golden Globe winner stars in the latest accomplishment in witty, all-ages entertainment, Inside Out.

She said, “I can’t believe I am here. Crazy! It’s so surreal. It's like the most glamorous fever dream. Have you been on a yacht? I was on one last night. It was very yacht-like. This place . I like the constant disco music. We were just saying that Cannes is, like, only quiet from nine A.M. to noon, when everybody finally goes to sleep!”

Well, looks like it’s one year of good news so far for Amy Poehler!!

Radhika Apte applauds Anand L Rai

The actress who is currently busy shooting for her Indo-British film, Bombariya, recently watched the much acclaimed film, Tanu Weds Manu Returns.

Though she felt that the performances of all the actors in the film was phenomenal, Radhika feels that it cannot be ignored that a major share of the victory also goes to the director Anand L Rai and script writer, Himanshu Sharma for the superlative writing and direction.

The actress feels that it is the content that has made this connect with the masses and they deserve their share of praise.

She even met the director after watching the film and expressed to him how she loved his work.

When contacted Radhika Apte shares, “Yes, I recently watched the film. Kangana was fabulous! Actually the entire cast delivered phenomenal performances. But you have to give it to Anand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma for their powerful vision. The film would not have been so huge without that.”

The industry and media have been abuzz  with possible names of various A-listers who may essay the role of Sarabjit Singh’s sister Dalbir Kaur in Omung Kumar’s biopic on the slain Indian prisoner. Well it seems the hunt for the sister DALBIR has finally come to an end, as the makers have finalised Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to play the lead. 

Confirming the news the producer of  'SARBJIT', Sandeep Singh says, “ Yes it is true, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will be playing the role of Dalbir Kaur Singh. The role demanded a very strong character with a powerful aura, and Aishwarya perfectly fits the bill. She has given spectacular performances in all her previous movies and we are confident that she will do justice to this role.  After producing Aligarh and co-producing Mary Kom, I realized that content driven films are my calling which further motivated me to take up 'SARBJIT' , that will would create an impact  and inspire the audience as well as the youth worldwide.

Second teaser of Wazir takes the excitement higher

The second teaser of Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Wazir was launched yesterday. Directed by Bejoy Nambiar, Wazir is one of the most anticipated films this year.

The film has an eclectic cast with Amitabh Bachchan, Farhan Akhtar and Aditi Rao Hydari.

While the first teaser that released last year had created a lot of intrigue, the second teaser has taken the excitement much higher.

The gripping teaser is loaded with suspense. It is one of the most intense teaser’s ever it keeps one on the edge of the seat.

It shows Amitabh Bachchan playing a grand chess master confined to a wheelchair and Farhan Akhtar playing an ATS cop.

Farhan Akhtar who is seen is such an avatar for the first time, looks perfect in the role of an ATS cop.

The teaser also showed Neil Nitin Mukesh who will be seen as the villain in Wazir and Johan Abraham who will be playing a pivotal cameo in the film.

After watching the teaser, the wait for the film has only become tougher as it has created a lot of intrigue.

It has garnered appreciation from all quarters and people are eager for the release of the film.

Jay learns horse riding and martial arts for his next

Jay Bhanushali believes in getting under the skin of the character he plays. Even if that means going to any length to get it right.

Jay has started learning horse riding for his character in an upcoming film. Though the actor has never ridden a horse before, it’s always been one of the things he’s fascinated by. Jay is also learning martial arts required for his role.

A source informs, “Jay has started learning horse riding. It has only got him more intrigued than ever before by the sport. He finds the process very exciting and thrilling and it has helped him overcome his fear of riding. He’s also undergoing rigorous training sessions for martial arts.”

“I’m learning horse riding and martial arts for my character. It’s too early to disclose any details regarding the film and my role but I can at least tell you that the learning process has been a wonderful experience, all thanks to my trainer,” says Jay.

Jay is on a high after the success of Ek Paheli Leela. 

Goldie Behl makes television fun reveal his actors !

Producer Goldie Behl who has always backed content driven cinema and recently announced an exciting slate of films with interesting filmmakers including Umesh Shukla, Abhishek Sharma and Tigmanshu Dhulia, is also responsible for bringing in an element of fun on the sets of his television show "Reporters".

Actor Puru Chibber, who essays the role of an input editor in the TV show “Reporters”, says the show's producer Goldie Behl has come up with an interesting rule to refresh his actors and supporting artists.

Reveals Puru, "There is a new rule introduced on our set by Goldie Behl sir that after each shot, loud music is played which acts as a stressbuster for all of us on the set. For any actor who shoots for 12 to 13 hours, it is necessary to have some fun.This rule should be introduced on the sets of all TV shows as it acts as a stressbuster."
