5 trucks of marigold for Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Mirziya

After getting high security for shooting the most important sequences in Mirzia, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra has now made way for the Kolkata marigold flower in Jaipur.

The sequence was debutant Saiyami Kher’s wedding sequence in the film, which is one of the most integral sequences of the film.

Considering it is a grand Rajasthan wedding, Rakeysh needed the set to look perfect. He looked into each and every detail, from the costume on each and every person on the set to the floral decoration which had been used.

So much so that the director called for 5 trucks of yellow marigold flowers all the way from Kolkata. Kolkata is known for top quality marigold flowers.

The sequence was shot in 7 days so the makers had called for the flowers on regular intervals after the initial 5 trucks.

It is Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s first love story. He is leaving no stone unturned for this project and is personally looking into all the detailing.‎

Mirziya is a contemporary love story set in Rajasthan. It is one of the most anticipated films and the biggest launch vehicle for Harshvardhan Kapoor and Saiyami Kher.

Spokesperson confirms the news and adds, "It is a very important sequence and was shot over many days. Keeping it traditional, simple and classy was the idea - which sounds easy, but is tough to achieve. The production team did a wonderful job of achieving that."

Zoya Akhtar has been editing for Dil Dhadakne Do for 14 -16 hours at a stretch

Zoya Akhtar has been busy editing her next film Dil Dhadakne Do. She has been editing for 14 -16 hours at a stretch. Zoya has been living in the edit studio.

The ace director has been going through the footage and sitting with editors for the same.

They did an extensive shoot across the Mediterranean for the film and have interesting footage.

Zoya has been a frenzy trying to decide the scenes which need to be retained and scenes which she need to remove.

Editing is one of the crucial aspects of filmmaking and currently Zoya is completely absorbed in this process.

Zoya has been spending 14 -16 hours in the editing studio. She has been pretty much living in there

Dil Dhadakne Do is a story which revolves around a dysfunctional Punjabi family who are on a cruise trip. The film has an eclectic cast starring Anil Kapoor, Farhan Akhtar, Ranveer Singh, Priynaka Chopra, Anushka Sharma and Shefali Shah. The film is slated to release on 5th June 2015.

Special gift for Yami Gautam!

Yami Gautam recently received a beautiful hand drawn sketch of herself from a fan.

Yami who is currently shooting in Patiala for her forthcoming film opposite Pulkit Samrat, was visited on the sets by a fan who brought a sketch of Yami that he had made and gifted it to her.          

The sketch was beautifully made and looked like it was made by a professional. Yami was in complete awe of it.

The fan told Yami that she has one of the best smiles in the industry. He also expressed how he loved her latest film Badlapur opposite Varu Dhawan.

Yami was deeply humbled and delighted at this sweet gesture by the fan and accepted the gift with a smile. She also interacted with the fan about his artistic talent.

Yami shares, "It was a beautifully made sketch and a really endearing gesture. I feel blessed for all the love. These gestures from people who love and support me, only make me smile and make me want to better what I bring on table for them."

Yami has been juggling her schedule with shooting for movies back to back. Her latest film Badlapur was loved by the audience and performed a brilliantly at Box office. The actress will soon be seen in T- series’s Sanam Re which is set to release on 12th February 2016.

Shraddha Kapoor throws a birthday party for her mom

Shraddha Kapoor planned a party for her mother this birthday.

Shivangi Kapoor’s birthday was on 12th March and Shraddha put in a lot of time to make her mother’s birthday extremely special. She wanted to make sure that it meant something to her mother.

fter a lot of planning, Shraddha organized a Karaoke party for her mom.

Little does anyone know that Shivangi Kapoor loves singing. Coming from a family of singers she has been gifted with the talent, is fabulous at it and thoroughly enjoys it.

While knowing this, what better gift to give her mother than a night full of music and singing with her near and dear ones.

Shraddha found out organizers who organize the karaoke and ensured all her mom’s favourite songs were there.

She also looked into catering, decorations and other details. She even made personal invitations to all the invitees.

10 days of planning and Shraddha was very excited. She planned everything to the T and wanted it all to be perfect.

Their close family members and Shivangi Kapoor’s childhood friends were present.

Her mom was really happy and thoroughly enjoyed herself.

Competing against Asha Negi, Nathalia Kaur and Iqbal Khan, Riddhi could not better her adversaries as she departed from the stunt based reality show.

Surpassing her own expectations, Riddhi overcame every possible obstacle she was put up against. In her last stunt on the show also, Riddhi fought till the very end in a container filled with plenty of hissing snakes and thousands of cockroaches.

Commenting on her elimination, Riddhi said, “My journey on Khatron Ke Khiladi - Darr Ka Blockbuster Returns was an experience of a lifetime. I have come out stronger and wiser. Phantom Films and Balaji Motion Pictures collaborate for Udta Punjab

Udta Punjab is the hottest project of the year and there is great anticipation for the film. It has recently gone on floors and the team is busy shooting

 in Amritsar.

Two creative power houses namely Phantom Films and Balaji Motion Pictures have come together to produce the film.

Phantom Films was on board with the film right from the start and now Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures too has come on board.

Ekta Kapoor was blown away by the concept of Udta Punjab when the director of the film Abhishek Chaubey mentioned it to her. She really liked the idea behind the film.

In fact, she was so excited by the concept that she immediately called Madhu Mantena of Phantom Films and discussed a partnership. The two decided to partner on the film.

Phantom and Balaji are both content driven production houses and they are now coming together for Udta Punjab which has a very strong and interesting script that was eyed by a lot of actors and production houses.

The film revolves around the problem of increasing drug abuse in Punjab and addresses this serious issue.

Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt have come together again after Shaandar for the film. Udta Punjab also stars Kareena Kapoor who will be seen romancing Diljit Dosanj in the film.

Speaking on their collaboration, Vikramaditya Motwane says, “Balaji partnered with us on Lootera earlier, our very first film. Therefore, it's an emotional relationship for us and we're delighted to be collaborating with them once again on Udta Punjab. Despite doing over 200 films in thus far, Jackie Shroff had never ever played a Fun-lighthearted Baddie character in any of his films. With Japinder Kaur’s DILLIWAALI ZAALIM GIRLFRIEND, Jackie Shroff’s fans will see him playing a Punjabi Crooked Businessman with the shades of comic for the first time on silver screen. There is lot of appreciation received over the promo for his role.

When asked about the character of Minocha, which Jackie is said to essay, the director of the film said, “ When I had decided to cast him in the role of a Punjabi Businessman in DILLIWAALI ZAALIM GIRLFRIEND, a lot of people told me it wasn’t a wise decision. However now that the film is complete the very same people are saying it is one of the best casting they have seen off late."

Sunny Leone and Mohit Ahlawat dance to Saiyaan Superstar

 

Mohit Ahlawat is back on silver screen with Ek Paheli Leela where he plays a role of a crowned prince of Jaisalmer, Rajasthan has worked on his looks and behavior for the character of Ranveer Singh.  

Mohit‘s character wears his heart on sleeves which is seen in the last released song of the film ‘Saiyaan Superstar’. Composed by Amaal Mallik and sung by Tulsi Kumar, the song is garnering more and more views every passing day. Mohit who plays a prince in the film is seen wearing the authentic Rajasthani prince clothes to give it a royal look and match to the theme of the song. On one hand we see Sunny Leone wearing a heavy lehenga designed by Rohit Verma, Mohit is wearing a sherwani with the turban which marks the wedding day of Sunny and Mohit in reel life.

That’s not it, Mohit has danced to the tunes of Saiyaan Superstar with co-actor Sunny Leone. Riding on the horse to matching steps, Saiyaan Superstar is a dance track where Meera (Sunny) sings for her husband Ranveer Singh (Mohit) and celebrate their relationship on the wedding day. The palace of Rajasthan was recreated in Mumbai for the song shoot. Speaking about the song, Mohit adds, “Ahmed has choreographed the song and dancing to his tunes is not an easy task and adding to it was Sunny’s energy. I have tried my best to match their steps.”

Swara's royal tour in Gondal

Maharani of Gondal shows Swara her antique and art collection: Swara Bhaskar is currently shooting for Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo in Gondal, Gujarat. The unit is currently shooting in the royal properties of the erstwhile Maharaja of Gondal. At a dinner party the royal family hosted for Salman Khan, Sooraj Barjatya and Swara.. The Maharani of Gondal discovered that Swara was an antique enthusiast and a history lover. The Maharani showed her tremendous collection of antiques and art and handicrafts to Swara and told her about the speciality of each piece. They were  also seen shopping for handloom textiles at a textile exhibition in Rajkot. A guest at the dinner said, "Swara was enraptured with the Maharani's collection. Swara has been a history student and was delighted to see artefacts from the ages she has studied. Her favourite was a falcon shaped salad bowl the Maharani aqquired in Wales."

Swara says ," Maharani has a beautiful collection of antiques in her house and was very gracious when she learnt of my interest in the same.. She took me around personally and showed me her favourite pieces. I love history and had a great time."

Shah Rukh Khan compliments Sushant Singh Rajput

It is very well known knowledge that Sushant Singh Rajput is a huge fan of Shah Rukh Khan. The actor recently went on Shah Rukh Khan’s new reality show to promote his upcoming film Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!.

It was a great episode with a lot of friendly banter between the two. It was extremely entertaining and the audience present was in splits. Sushant and Shah Rukh shared a great camaraderie.

Post the show, Shah Rukh called Sushant to his vanity van and the two of them spoke for a while.

Shraddha Kapoor preps for Rock On 2

Shraddha Kapoor has been versatile with the kind of roles she chooses to play. She believes in getting involved in all her characters.

To understand and portray her character better, she likes to get into the detailing and nuances of it.

For her forthcoming film Rock On 2, Shraddha has already started her prep work.

She will soon undergo training in Rock music to learn more about the genre. She will be doing a Rock music appreciation course to understand the context of the music. She wants to understand and be able to appreciate music as a rocker.

The young actress will be seen playing the lead girl in the sequel of the hit cult classic Rock On.

Shraddha who is a singer herself has been fond of rock music as well. She has grown up listening to The Beatles.

However this course will help her comprehend and appreciate the subtle difference between bands, evolution of rock music over decades and more.

Shraddha feels that the study of various rock bands and their music will help her understand the role in a much better way.
