The AnupamKher Show - KucchBhi Ho Sakta Hai – Season I, a show hosted and produced by AnupamKher, provides viewers an unprecedented glimpse into the lives of their favourite celebrities, as they reveal stories of faith, hope, struggle, victory and success. While the series kicks off with the superstar of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan who shares bittersweet and sometimes rib-ticklingly funny anecdotes from his life, subsequent episodes which will air every Sunday will feature artists and prominent personalities like Mahesh Bhatt and Alia Bhatt, David Dhawan and VarunDhawan, Akshay Kumar, VidyaBalan, KanganaRanaut, Kapil Sharma, Naseeruddin Shah and Om Puri, Parineeti Chopra and Aditya Roy Kapur, Sonam Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor, and cricketer Yuvraj Singh.

Sidharth goes on a theater crawl

Sidharth Malhotra has been visiting theaters to gather first hand audience reactions for his film, Ek Villian.

The film which released this weekend is doing extremely well at the box office.

Sidharth has made a couple of outings where he has visited theaters.

He is trying to gather non biased reaction and liking the experience

Ek Villian marks Sidharth in a very different avataar.

Sidharth was very nervous before the release. Its the first time audiences will see him doing hard core action and stunts.

Hence, he was apprehensive if he will be able to do justice and if the audience will accept him.

On his previous two outings Student of The year and Hasse Toh Phasee the audiences have seen him essaying the role of the boy next door. As an actor he is pushing the envelope in Ek Villian which was making him anxious.

However the reaction has be unanimously positive and Sidharth has been elated.

Says Sidharth, "I have been visiting theaters to catch first hand audience reaction. It was wonderful and one of a kind experience!! "

Vidya Balan meets Prosenjit in Kolkata

Vidya Balan recently re-visited Kolkatta to promote her soon to release film Bobby Jasoos.

Kolkata as a city is very close to Vidya. The ace actor has extensively shot for her film Kahaani in the city

Kahaani was shot in Kolkata entirely and while shooting the film Vidya got a chance to experience the city in its true element.

She also learnt talking in Bengali and got to know people in Kolkata. Vidya infact got to know Prosenjit, the biggest superstar of Bengali cinema.

The two talented actors are good friends and they keep in touch.

So much so that even though VIdya briefy visited Kolkata for promotions of Bobby Jasoos she called Prosenjit and briefly met him during her visit.

Spokesperson shares "Vidya was in Kolkata only for a day with things lined up back to back. However she was keen to meet Prosenjit, even if it was briefly.

VIdya is in the last promotion leg for her upcoming film Bobby Jasoos. Directed by Samar Shaikh, produced by Dia Mirza and Sahil Sangha under their banner Born Free Entertainment and presented by Reliance Entertainment, Bobby Jasoos releases on July 4th.

The entire cast of the film was present and it was a kind of a reunion of sorts.

The film has an eclectic cast with powerful actors.

The cast got a chance to bond before the film went on floors at a 10 day workshop.

They then left for Hyderabad and were shooting on real locations which was very challenging. The journey got easier as they understood and helped each other.

It was a long shooting schedule where they all bonded. However, once they were back in the city they all got absorbed in new projects and could not keep in touch much.

So they were all euphoric to meet everyone at the special screening of the film yesterday. They were reminiscing the experience they had during the shooting schedule.

All of them are really excited about the release of the film this week.

Bobby Jasoos, directed by Samar Shaikh, produced by Born Free Entertainment and presented by Reliance Entertainment, is about a young woman who wants to become the number one detective in the city of Hyderabad.

The multi talented personality of the industry, Farhan Akhtar has turned a photographer. The actor, who is currently shooting for his sister, Zoya Akhtar’s next film, Dil Dhadakne Do, has been capturing the scenic beauty of Spain, where they were shooting.

The team of Dil Dhadakne Do will be seen shooting at picturesque locations. They were in Spain and now they have moved to Turkey. The team had done a long recce and shortlisted beautiful locations for shooting the film.

However, Farhan who is absolutely mesmerized with the places they are shooting at always has his personal camera with him, in his free time.

He has been clicking pictures of the unique city, Istanbul where they are shooting currently, for his personal catalogue. He did that while they were in Spain as well.

Asin To Fly Off With Cousins To States

Asin, who is quite the family girl, will be flying off to the United States with her cousins for a short trip before heading back to start shooting for her next schedule of ‘All Is Well’.

A source close to the actress said, “Though Asin is quite busy with her film schedule, she always makes it a point to spend some quality time with her family members, irrespective of the volume of work on her plate.”

Asin plans to take her cousins to the Disney Land in Florida as they had expressed a desire to see the place.

Actor Vir Das, who has mostly played casually dressed characters in his films so far, will be next seen playing a dapper investment banker in upcoming rom-com ‘Amit Sahni Ki List’.

Sources attached to the unit claim that in the film, Vir Das will be seen obsessed with his suits, just like Barney Stinson (Neil Patrick Harris) from ‘How I Met Your Mother’. A source added that Vir’s character will be even seen wearing a suit inside a diving suit!

Daawat-E-Ishq trailer to be launched at an iftar party

The Aditya Roy Kapur and Parineeti Chopra starrer, Dawat-e-Ishq is all set to launch the trailer of their film.

The trailer, which will be launched during the month of Ramzaan, will have a special theme attached to the big event.

The team of the film has planned to do the trailer launch event at an Iftaari party.

This event will also mark Bollywood’s first Iftaari party.

As a production house, YRF plans their events in a special way each time.

Dawat-e-Ishq, which is a Muslim social and it also revolves around food and romance, was just appropriate to be launched in this fashion. The film has extensively been shot around Hyderabad and Lucknow.

So, the event will have a variety of delicacies including the special items which are there at an Ifaari.

The trailer will be launched on July 7.

I am not a Pakistani Actor: Inaamulhaq

Actor Inaamulhaq who was seen making his debut with ‘Filmistaan’ has come across a funny incident after the release of the film. Since Inaamulhaq looked quite promising in the role of Aftab- a Pakistani character who makes Hindi Film piracy and sells them cross the border, his character has convinced a lot of people to believe him to be a Pakistani actor. Inaamulhaq being an Indian has managed to get the right accent of a Pakistani in Filmistaan.

When asked Inaamulhaq about the people he has come across believing him to be a Pakistani Actor, he laughingly said, “These days when ever I go out on any theater visit or with my friends, people come to me to congratulate for my performance and get really shocked to know I am an Indian Actor and not a Pakistaani actor. I guess my involvement with the character fAfteb convinced people to believe the same. I am an Indian, born and bought up in Saharanpur.

Mumbai, 29^th June, 2014: Leadstart Publishing and Oxford Bookstore hosted the book launch of Author, Neerja Gaurie’s The Harbinger: Patchwork on 29^thJune, 2014 at 6.30 pm. It was an enthralling evening at the Churchgate Oxford Bookstore where the book was released by 2012’s Miss Femina Miss India International, Rochelle Maria Rao.

It was a great evening as Neerja Gaurie, Author of The Harbinger: Patchwork and Rochelle Maria Rao unveiled the book and read excerpts from it. Rochelle, being an avid reader, spoke about how gripping the book was that keeping it down was out of the question. Neerja spoke about how the book is for all women going through turbulent times and finding themselves is the key to having that balance.

The event ended with a vote of thanks to all those that graced themselves for the event. An entre of food and beverages were served to everyone at the bookstore.

The author was educated at the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, in the discipline of Foreign Languages and later qualified with masters in History. She has been an educator for over 33 years with a stint as Principal of an Institution in the South. Apart from academics she has dabbled some on stage and is a voracious reader and movie buff. She lives in a little village of Dehradun, India, and leaves it sometimes to be with her two grown up sons and daughter-in-law. Writing is a passion she hopes will remain kindled. She is currently visiting faculty for French and History.

As the country’s most eagerly awaited event, the 5^th Jagran Film Festival, draws closer, it has been revealed that this edition of the festival will open with the screening of ‘UGLY” as its opening film, a psychological thriller and an emotional drama film written and directed by Anurag Kashyap. It has also been announced that renowned Film makers Amol Palekar and Goutam Ghose are going to head the feature and short film juries respectively at this edition of the Jagran Film Festival.

Ugly is an emotional drama with an edgy thriller element. An astounding tale of corruption, coldness, and violence the film opens with the kidnapping of an aspiring actor's 10-year-old daughter. Ugly was earlier screened in the Directors' Fortnight section at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival. The film also had the privilege of opening the 2014 New York Indian Film Festival. The film stars Girish Kulkarni, Ronit Roy, Tejaswini Kolhapure, Vinit Kumar Singh, Surveen Chawla and Vipin Sharma in pivotal roles. The film marks Anurag's return as a director after Gangs of Wasseypur - Part 2. The film has officially been scheduled to release on September 19th, 2014.

The festival promises to feature an interesting lineup of movies from across the world. The festival has a competition for Indian features and International shorts. While Amol Palekar who is also known as an accomplished actor who set off a trend in the seventies with his ‘The Guy Next Door’ image, will head the Jury for Indian Showcase which is the Indian Competition for feature films, Bengali Film maker known internationally Goutam Ghose will lend his expertise in judging the international short film competition.

The Indian Showcase and the International Short Film Competition have 25 entries each from over 35 countries jointly. The juries will meet during the Mumbai leg of the festival in September and the results will be announced at a gala in Mumbai in the presence of a star studded audience.
