"I Will Not Return My National Award" says Filmmaker Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan



While a number of writers, filmmakers, historians and scientists have returned their national honours to protest against recent incidents like the Dadri lynching, beef row and ink attacks recently. Renowned  filmmaker Sanjay Puransingh Chauhan   however refuses  to join the protest in the country and says  that he would not return his National Award. 

The filmmaker who won  the  National Award for his  internationally acclaimed film Lahore in 2009  says that the award is  love and blessings of hundreds and crores of people of  India and in no situation he will return the awards as the others have done.  "It is nations one of the highest honours  and dream for any filmmaker and it motivates our enthusiasm to work as a filmmaker  with the Zeal and creativity" says the Lahore director.  

The filmmaker feels that  it is not necessary for every film to do commercially well and be a hit. " Films  may also be  critically acclaimed and win a National award and declared as a hit  amongst the people of India and that what matters and not just the commercial aspect always" he adds.

The writer director  says that National Awards are not political awards or does not bear any political inclination . "They are not any party  or individual driven. Any national award  is he love and affection of people of India bestowed in the form of an  award by the Government. So all those returning the award back are  actually disgracing the feelings values and affection of Indians and  it's a shame"  says Chauhan. 

He goes on to add further in angst,  what are we trying to show as Indians? what would the people throughout the world think of such reactions. Your Government  conferred  you with the  National Award with all the trust in your capabilities but for you it might be just an award. But what if you had an Academy Award or some International Award  and being provoked by few political  elements you were to return the same? My question is simple  would surrender that too. As a saying goes in hindi "Ghar Ki Murgi Dal Barabar."  All those  people dishonouring the National Award  must realise that the National Award might be least valuable for them but all those who make cinema from the core of their hearts and make the films for the people  of India and not only just commercial viability. The National  Award was is and will  always be above any Filmfare, Stardust or even an Oscar as we are Indians and nothing could be a better feeling than being honoured for your work by your own people and Government than going gaga over few international or Private awards. I am proud of my people,  my nation  and our Government and thank them for trusting my capabilities. It gives me more  strength as an Indian and not just a film maker" he states. 

Vidya Balan praises the Goddesses


Vidya recently watched the trailer of Angry Indian Goddesses and was high on praise for the film. .
The trailer piqued her interest and she found it quite engaging. The talented actress watched the trailer of the film at the MAMI film festival and was very keen to watch it.
However, she could not catch the film at the festival and shared how she is keen to watch the film.
Vidya said “"I loved the Angry Indian Goddesses trailer. I am really wanting to watch the movie and will watch it as and when I get time"
When the makers learnt about this they reached out to Vidya and thanked her. The makers were really glad to receive such positive feedback and even proposed to host a special screening for her in the upcoming days

15 Years of Hera Pheri



It’s been 15 years now that the 2000 cult comedy Hear Pheri was released. Right from ‘pressure aagaya’ to ‘Baburao ka style hai’, the movie has indeed given us some really memorable laughable memories. Hera Pheri that featured Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty, Tabu and the amazingly talented Paresh Rawal was produced by AG Nadiawala and directed by Priyadarshan. And now, after its 15 years of release, the movie has become a cult classic. It was voted as the best Bollywood comedy film of all time. Paresh Rawal also went on to win the Best Comedian award at Filmfare, IIFA and Star Screen Awards.

Hera Pheri was the first film that Priyadarshan had worked in with Akshay Kumar and Sunil Shetty. The director had already worked with Paresh Rawal in Doli Saja Ke Rakhna. Besides turning out to a classical comedy, the movie marked the beginning of a long association between Priyadarshan and the three actors.

The film did not open well upon its release, but picked up later and became a huge box-office success. Much of the acclaim went to Paresh Rawal for his impeccable comic timing and acting. AG Nadiadwala's Hera Pheri is indeed a delight to watch for its performances, some songs, and an interesting story line. It has achieved a cult status among Indian audiences and is regarded as one of the best Hindi comedy films ever made.

Bollywood filmmaker AG Nadiawala was involved in the production of Hera Pheri which was both a critical and commercial success, becoming the second top-grossing movie domestically and the top-grossing Bollywood film in the overseas market that year.

Celebrity Chef Rakhee Vaswani launches her first book ‘Picky Eaters’ with Malaika Arora Khan



Mumbai, November 04, 2015:  An evening of food and laughter, the who’s who of the F&B Industry made it to the launch of Celebrity Chef Rakhee Vaswani’s first ever cook book ’Picky Eaters’ at China House, Grand Hyatt today. Unveiled by the gorgeous Malaika Arora Khan, yummy mummy of a picky eater herself, the book launch was a huge successamidst much celebration, fanfare and free flowing food and spirits!

​​Another highlight of the event was an interactive, fun, panel discussion with Malaika, Chef Rakhee, food expert Kunal Vijayakar, masterchef Ranveer Brar and the brilliant Radhika Mukherjee, owner of The Big Red Bus and singer Shaan’s wife.  Not only did they speak about the book but also shared their personal experiences with Picky Eaters and their most cherished food memories. This was followed by a entertaining rapid fire session that could the crowd in splits!

Air Arabia and Georgian National Tourism Administration hosted the road shows in Delhi on 29th October, 2015 (Thursday) and Mumbai on 30th October, 2015 (Friday) in order to foster and develop a closer working relationship with key members of the travel industry. SHEETAL TALWAR TO PRODUCE LUKE MABLY STARRER ‘THE GHOST WRITER’ DIRECTED BY PAUL WILKINS




October 31,2015: Following producing films such as ‘The Eichmann show’ starring Martin Freeman and Anthony La Paglia, Demi Moore and David Duchovny Starrer ‘The Joneses’ among numerous others, National award winning Producer and Managing Director Vistaar Entertainmant, Sheetal Talwar will produce ‘The Ghost Writer’ directed by Paul Wilkins (7 Lives).

A supernatural thriller about a man battling the demons of his father’s past to overcome his own, the film is the second outing of director Paul Wilkins after his much praised film ‘7 Lives’ and stars acclaimed actor Luke Mably (28 Days Later, The Prince and Me, The Prince and Me II) in the lead.

Currently filming and scheduled to release in 2016, ‘The Ghost Writer’ also stars actors Brendan Patricks (Downtown Abbey), Andrea Deck (Les Misrables) and Robert Portal (Kings Speech, My Week With Marilyn) among others and will see a Hindi make, details of which as yet to be announced.

‘Rao’ On Set! Ranveer Renames Himself for “Bajirao Mastani’



Playing a character in a period drama requires an actor to live and breathe in a different era altogether. It’s because of this that Ranveer Singh is trying unusual ways to ensure that he delivers better than his best as Peshwa Bajirao. One such method is to call him ‘Rao’ instead of Ranveer Singh on set. 

In playing Peshwa Bajirao, Ranveer Singh has taken on a once in a lifetime role; that of a fearsome Maratha warrior and a just king who is still remembered in folktales. Lots have been said about his physical & mental preparation for this part. 

In order to ensure that he stays focused while shooting, Ranveer has surprised his assistant directors with an odd request. He has asked everyone to call him ‘Rao’ and address him with the name of his character. While his request has let to some good-natured leg pulling on set, Ranveer insists that this be the practice. Says a source, “This helps him stay in character & helps him not be reminded that he is Ranveer Singh. So when he is on set he is fully in character.” 

Even while speaking on walkie-talkies, as assistants tend to do while a shoot is on, they call him Rao. So far, this mental shift into this historical character has worked for him, even though it’s not commonly done. 

Clearly, Ranveer is pushing himself beyond the call of duty to bring alive the magic & might of ‘Bajirao Mastani’.

Hero Cycles Launches New Advertising Campaign “choose different” with Arjun Kapoor for ‘Hero Sprint bike RXR’ Cycles

New Delhi, 01st November 2015: Hero Cycles, world’s largest bicycle manufacturer by volume, today announced its commencement of the ad campaign for its Sprint range of cycles. The ad campaign, which features the Hero Cycles’ Brand Ambassador as well as Bollywood icon and famed movies star and youth Icon, Arjun Kapoor, has been designed by JWT. It  is developed to position the cycle as a product of choice for young riders who wish to escape traffic, are ‘cool’ and enjoy the bright, energetic and action-packed moments of life. This cycle can be used as a healthy commuting option and also as a greener mode of transport for all of us.

The TVC airs November 1 and will be carried across all media, print, outdoor and electronic as well digital. The campaign has been divided in two bursts, one immediately and the second commencing March 2016. The ad has 2 edit formats durations of  20 sec and 40 sec in Hinglish, Bengali and all South Indian languages . The campaign is planned to cover an all-India footprint with about 70 Hoardings, cinema and includes 1,300 schools pan-India as part of a school activation program
