Om Puri’s ‘Project Marathwada’ launches its first look

Mumbai, September 22, 2015: The uproar can be heard, the emotions are lucid and the pain of the besieged Indian farmers can now be sensed, with the rising awareness in India. Celebrities from all walks of life have come forward with a helpful hand, lending support to the ill-fated citizens of India and bring an end to the incessant suicide by the farmers.

To garner the Government’s attention and highlight their plight, debut Producer-Director Team of Prakash Patel and Bhavin Wadia have joined hands with the established actor, Om Puri, for the making of the film, ‘Project Marathwada’ which is rooted in on the sensitive issue faced by the nation today. The duo launched the first look of the film which has not just captured the painful sentiments of the poverty struck families but has also shown the extent to which these people are forced to budge.

The first look of the film, ‘Project Marathwada’ begins with Om Puri’s son committing suicide which is followed by the heart wrenching words spoken by him in the background while conducting his last rituals. The film showcases the grief stricken family and the villagers who remain speechless and unsurprised yet are filled with void in this hapless situation. Each moment highlights the grave loss and the helplessness of the people who are merely living a life with zero hopes.  The twist in the story develops after Om Puri himself decides to end his life but fails miserably in his attempt as the fan in his house he hung to, gave way. In the next scene, he can be seen in Mumbai, tirelessly paving way to the Mantralaya with the hopes of getting some help from the system. The teaser ends with Om Puri pouring kerosene on himself while flashing images of the corrupt government officials, the corporate babus as well as the local citizens having a somber discussion amongst them.

Acclaimed actor and lead in the venture, Om Puri’s look of an old, distressed farmer, namedTukaram, is really moving and his expressions can absolutely melt one’s heart. The film is focused on the national yet neglected problem of insolvent farmers especially in the Vidarbha belt of Maharashtra region and have been shot in the rural parts of this state.

Highlighting this solemn issue, the protagonist of the film and the multifaceted artist, Om Puri comments, “It’s moving at how we have abandoned our farmers and yet they have continued to feed us. While playing the character of Tukaram, I have felt a part of their lives and it is really disturbing to see their miserable state. We hope to create a strong wind and arouse a sense of responsibility in every Indian to reach out the fateful farmers.”

Farmer’s suicide which has been a raging concern since 1995 has claimed lives of nearly 300,000 farmers since then. The film maker stated that such an alarming statistic baffled and compelled him to voice this issue of the farmers which thus gave way to the film titled, ‘Project Marathwada.’ With supporting actors like Govind Namdeo, Dilip Tahil, Kunal Seth, Seema Biswas, Rahul Patel, Farrah Kader and Katerina, the team strongly believes that leveraging this issue on such a big platform will stir the Indian.

With a debut directorial venture, Bhavin Wadia, who has worked in theatre and directed several short films, speaks at the press conference, “This project is very close to my heart as I belong to an agricultural family. I have seen the ups and downs of my people and want create awareness and wake up the dormant government to help the entire community of farmers. In India, film is the best medium to reach to the larger audience for bringing forth the crisis of the farmers. I am thankful to Om Sir who has shown faith in us and this venture of ‘Project Marathwada’. He is a brilliant actor and has effortlessly portrayed the role of the feeble.

Talvar opens to Packed Houses at 40th Toronto International Film Festival.

The 40th Toronto International Film Festival showcased the world premier of the Meghna Gulzar's Talvar. 

Talvar had created such an anticipation that all the shows of the movie were house full and the tickets were sold out within 90 minutes for all the shows! The theater has a capacity of 1200 seat and still there were people who didn't get seats to watch the film. The reviews garnered by the movie are very strong and the movie has been loved by people unanimously.

The premier was held at Ryersen Theatre, one of the biggest theaters at the festival. The film has gathered great buzz over its screenplay and the story that it’s based on.

Present at the premiere were Priti Shahani,  the co producer of Talvar, Vishal Bhardwaj, Meghna Gulzar and Irrfan Khan.    

Talvar is based on the Aarushi Talwar murder case and is all set to hit theaters on 2^nd October 2015.

Richa Chadda and Lisa Ray honoured with Sicario - Women of Steel Award

Keeping in mind the strong roles played by women in different walks of life Richa Chadda and Lisa Ray were recently awarded the Sicario - Women of Steel award. The award campaign was launched by PVR pictures in honour of their upcoming film Sicario which stars Emily Blunt, portraying her as a powerful character. A few others were also honoured from different walks of life for their contribution to fields such as cinema, alternate content, philanthropy, stand up comedy, music etc.

 

Across the different fields, Richa Chadha was awarded for cinema, Guneet Monga for alternate content, Lisa Ray for philanthropy, Aditi Mittal for Stand up comedy and Vasuda Sharma for her achievements in the field of music. The names were announced this morning after which the awardees were presented a memento personally from the PVR representative. Sicario is a film that stars Emily Blunt, an idealistic FBI agent who is enlisted by an elected government task force to aid in the escalating war against drugs at the border area between the U.S. and Mexico.

"In Sicario, Emily’s character has been depicted as a highly resilient & solid individual, truly a woman of steel. Ayushmann Khurrana, Sonu Nigam, Shaan turn the new host-dost

Vipul Shah's Force 2 now consists of a 'Die Hard' cinematographer.

Force 2 brings to celluloid John Abraham along with Sonakshi Sinha and newcomer Tahir Raj Bhasin, who plays the villain in the film.

This is the first time Sonakshi and John would be sharing screen space.

Force 2 is currently being filmed in Hungary, Budapest. 

There has been a newest addition in the crew of the film and its a matter to rejoice for.

Die Hard 5′s cinematographer had been brought on board for the film!

Imre Juhaza, the director of photography, who is known for his work in Hollywood films like Die Hard 5 and Spy has been roped in for Force 2, informs a source.

The first schedule of the film is on at Budapest where several Holly films have been shot.

Force 2 is an upcoming Thriller film produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah. The film is a sequel to the 2011 film Force.

Yami Gautam now knows how to ride a horse!

Yami Gautam took horse riding lessons while in Canada, recently for her upcoming film Sanam Re.

“The actor had never learnt horse riding, as she didn’t feel she would ever need the skill. Then, she found out that it was her character’s requirement in this particular project, and she had to pick it up over a short period of time,” says the source.

The source further reveals that "Yami needed to look convincing, and had to practice quite a bit so that she didn’t goof up in front of the camera. “She doesn’t have a long scene, but it was important for her to learn how to control the horse. There was a professional trainer present on the sets to help her out, and Yami picked it up quite fast. The shot was captured smoothly after the actor spent some time learning to ride and getting comfortable with the horse,” says the source.

When contacted, Yami confirms the news, saying, “The horse’s name is Turkey. It was not easy to control him initially. But I befriended him, and then it became much easier.”

Sanam Re is an upcoming Romantic film Directed by Divya Khosla Kumar and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar and co - produced by Ajay Kapoor. 

Sanam Re would showcase the fresh pairing of Yami Gautam and Pulkit Samrat to the audiences.

The film is set to Release on 12 February 2016.   

Following in Tom’s footsteps

Vipul Shah’s next, Force 2 which is the second instalment of Force (2011)  starring John Abraham and Sonakshi Sinha, is currently being shot in Budapest, Hungary. 

Interestingly, the shoot is taking place at the Ethnographic Museum, where Hollywood actor Tom Hanks shot for his upcoming film, Inferno, earlier this year.

An insider says, “The location’s green room that is being used by John, was used by Tom Hanks during the shoot of his film earlier this year. Tom also shot extensively at the Ethnographic Museum, where an important sequence of director Abhinay Deo’s movie is being filmed.”

Budapest has been a popular shooting location for Hollywood films; movies like Die Hard (1988) and Transporter 3 (2008), among others, have been shot there. But it is still a largely unexplored location for Bollywood. “Being a hard-core action film, Budapest was an appropriate location for the movie. It is scenic. The makers are hoping that the place’s true beauty translates well on to the big screen,” adds the insider.

Viacom 18 Motion Pictures’ Time Out, helmed by debutant director Rikhil Bahadur is a coming-of-age story that celebrates the spirit of individuality, showcasing the journey of two teenage brothers who come to terms with their individual identities.

Recently, the filming of the movie came to an abrupt halt when the cops turned on location at Gurgaon. A source informs, “Considering the subject of the movie which deals with a sensitive issue like homosexuality, the members of the society assumed of something fishy happening in their premises and without confirming with the movie team, they called the cops and requested them to investigate into the matter.”

Time Out starring Chirag Malhotra, Pranay Pachauri and Vedabrata Rao in pivotal roles is slated to release on September 25, 2015.

Sonam Kapoor becomes an Angry Birds Champion for Earth with a beautiful designed avatar in her likeness!

Actress and international fashion icon, Sonam Kapoor, has a surprise up her sleeve as she becomes a Champion for Earth in Angry Birds Friends during the week starting Monday September 21. Champions for Earth, is a weeklong tournament on Angry Birds Friends created by Rovio and earth day network to raise awareness about climate change. The tournament runs from September21 to 27 and coincides with the United Nations Climate Change Week in New York City.

Fashion icon Sonam Kapoor is joined  by other global celebrities who are also Champions for Earth: Don Cheadle, Ian Somerhalder, Matt Damon, Danny DeVito and members of Korean pop sensation VIXX.

In the course of gameplay, Sonam and the other Champions invite Angry Birds players to compete against their avatars on the leaderboard and share facts about climate change. The beautifully designed Sonam Bird avatar was designed by the team of Angry Birds artists with the input of Sonam herself.

In addition to the game, Sonam and the other Champions for Earth also star in a video, narrated by Christiana Figueres, the UN's top climate official and head of the UN Climate Convention (UNFCCC) and with a guest appearance of global film personality and Indian icon, Mr. Anil Kapoor.

The question we will all be asking is: Can you beat Sonam's score? Those of you who love Angry Birds Friends, get ready to download the game and play from Monday onwards. Game on!

टाइम आउट फिल्म में ४५ रीटेक के बाद परफेक्ट हुआ किस।

टाइम आउट फिल्म के मुख्य किरदार में एक जोरदार लिप लॉक सीन होना था पर या सीन फिल्माने के लिए दोनों नए कलाकारों के बीच ४५ रीटेक हुए। 

फिल्म टाइम आउट में ​अभिनेता प्रणय पचौरी जो की फिल्म के मुख्य कलाकार है और सानया अरोरा उनकी सह कलाकार है तथा फिल्म का निर्देशन रिखिल बहादुर कर रहे है। फिल्म के लिए एक परफेक्ट किसिंग सीन फिल्माने के लिए इन सभी को कढ़ी मेहनत करनी पड़ी जहा निर्देशक कट एक्शन कहते रहे और वही किस मिस होते रहे आखिर ४५ रीटेक के बाद यह किसिंग सीन परफेक्ट हुआ। 

​फिल्म में सीन की डिमांड थी की सानया को प्रणय के साथ लिप लॉक करना लेकिन यह सीन दोनों को फिल्मा ने में बड़ी कठिनाई पेश आरही थी। ​सीन के लिए पैशन जरुरी था जब पैशन नहीं दिखा तो निर्देशक दोनों कलाकारों को गुस्साए तब जाकर ४५ रीटेक और ६ घंटो के इन्तेजार के बाद परफेक्ट किसिंग सीन पूरा हुआ।

Pranay Pachauri and Sanya Arora take 45 retakes to perfect the kiss in Time Out

The lead pair had to undergo 45 retakes to perfect the lip-lock and convince the director.

This one is surely a kiss-and-tell story! Pranay Pachauri, who’s playing the lead role in Rikhil Bahadur’s Time Out and his co-star Sanya Arora had to go through 45 retakes to perfect the kiss!

Viacom 18 Motion Pictures’ Time Out, helmed by debutant director Rikhil Bahadur is a coming-of-age story that celebrates the spirit of individuality, showcasing the journey of two teenage brothers who come to terms with their individual identities.

The scene in the film required Sanya to lock lips with Pranay. Seeing that the couple was finding it difficult to execute it, director Rikhil pulled up the two actors for not kissing with passion and not getting it right. And the ‘perfection’ came apparently after 45 retakes and six hours shoot.

Akshay Kumar rides a limited edition bike in Singh is Bliing!!

Akshay Kumar is known to be quite a bike enthusiast. Rather than travelling by cars, he has been known to have taken his co-stars zooming across the city during promotions on his bike. The team of his next, Singh is Bling, made sure he got his own custom-made bike during the shoot of a romantic song sequence with leading lady Amy Jackson in Romania.

A source from the team reveals, “During the shoot of the movie in Romania, a special bike was called for. It was a blazing red one. Akshay got very fascinated with the bike and after the shoot was done, he took it for a ride with co-star Amy. The beautiful machine was a limited edition one and was customised  for the shoot. It was interesting to see Akshay excited like a little boy as he checked out the features and considered the possibility of buying a similar one for himself.”

Javed Ali recorded song for Sandesh Gour's Debut Movie "Meeradha"

Actor Sandesh Gour acted in many popular TV shows like Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Saraswatichandra, Pratigya, Neela Tele Films show Tarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chashmah and international awards winning short film "Muafinama" as well.

Now Actor Sandesh Gour will debut in bollywood movie "Meeradha" as main lead hero directed by Aashish Sinha and produced by Surya Prakash Jethlia under the banner of SPJ Entertainment.

Bollywood Singer Javed Ali recorded a sad song "Sajna" composed by Archit Tak for movie "Meeradha". Javed Ali said, " Working with Young actor like Sandesh Gour is a great Pleasure for me and my best wishes are always with Sandesh Gour and all cast and crew of Meeradha Movie..

Icelandic actor and film director Baltasar Kormákur brings a movie which is shot on a impossible location and also a well crafted, Mount Everest was not so intriguing before as after watching ‘Everest’ I was in doldrums whether to love or lament those picturesque location and the beautiful mountains, their shapes and yes the white snow which is every person dream to go and experience once in a life time.

The fact is when you are on a mission to reach the high point of this massive structures created by the nature can be as lethal form of devastation which one can’t handle it so easily. Nevertheless the film showcases actual atmosphere and will make you feel the vertical limits with outstanding camera work, one experience the Director doesn’t want to share was the courageous win to reach the pinnacle is shown hurriedly with no cinematic luxury to give the audience a novel experience of the exciting activity involved in how one goes into and also the horrifying task to reach the highest [28,000 ft] piece of the space on Earth.

Make your visual experience of watching the Mount Everest more fruitful in IMAX 3D, at least that will spare to focus on the error of presenting the true incidents which the Expedition team must have gone through.

The film is based on the real events of the 1996 Mount Everest disaster, and focuses on the survival attempts of two expedition groups, one led by Scott Fischer (Gyllenhaal) and the other by Rob Hall (Clarke).
