The 11thAnnual Gemfields and Nazraana Retail Jeweller India Awards 2015 Premieres India’s Top 200 Nominated Designs Exhibiting the Creative Brilliance of India's Elite Jewellers









Mumbai, 18th June, 2015:The 11thAnnual Gemfields and Nazraana Retail Jeweller India Awards2015- An Elite Circle of Excellence, also known as the Oscars of the jewellery industry, held its GRAND JURY MEET showcasing India’s top 200 nominated jewellery creations atJade Ballroom, Sahara Star, Mumbai. The ‘Grand Jury meet’ is a distinctive event that showcases top rated  unique, creative and innovative designs from some of the most reputable jewellery houses across the country.
  
“These awards were launched at a time when the industry was opening up to the new opportunities of organized retailing. Today, in the context of the transforming consumer landscape, the awards have greater relevance. To keep pace with it, jewellery retailers are reimaging design and making it more versatile and cosmopolitan. These awards bear testimony to theindustry’s growing standards of design brilliance catering to the modern consumer's need for differentiation and uniqueness,” said Soma Bhatta, Editor, The Retail Jeweller.

After two rigorous rounds of selection over 200 world class-precious jewellery designs across 12 categories including 4 vivah and 8 non-vivah jewellery categories have come in from across India.The pieces displayed at the ‘Grand Jury Meet’ have been screened through a rigorous 2-tier selection process that includes initial screening (for adherence to entry guidelines) by IMRB, process auditors for the awards, followed by an online judging by the jury.

The Jury Panel included Neha Dhupia (Actress), Michelle Poonawalla(Director, Poonawalla Group of Engineering Companies), Rouble Nagi (Artist Muralist), Ananya Banerjee (Artist), Vaishali Banerjee(Managing Director, Platinum Guild India), Shazia Khan (Vice President & Strategic Planning Director, JWT), Radha Kapoor (Founder & Executive Director, Indian School of Design and Innovation (ISDI) and AshitKukian(President & COO, Radio City 91.1 FM).

Representing a diverse group of people, distinguished professionals, all of whom are experts and leaders in their independent fields, the eclectic mix draws considerable collective wisdom and experience from across genres that have strong synergies with the jewellery industry.

Michelle Poonawalla is a Director of Poonawalla Group of Engineering Companies, Intervalve and Elomatic. The company has diversified interest in Engineering, Horse Racing and Breeding, Biotech and Hotels. She looks into all operations of the Engineering companies, particularly expansions and HR and IR related activities. However, that’s not all. She has graduated with honours in Interior Design from the American College in London. Art and design has always been in her blood, from being an A* graduate in art at A levels, to her grandfather the Late Jehangir Vazifdar who was a prominent architect of Mumbai. Ananya Banerjee, Artist                                     
Ananya Banerjee’s paintings display innovation and creativity. She is an artist to reckon who has been able to establish her own identity with exquisite blend of colour and texture. She
is adept in using various innovative mediums like aluminium, wood, gold and silver gilding on canvas.
She is a double graduate in Commerce and Law. She holds diploma in fine arts from Birla Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata and from Academy of Arts, Romford in England. She also has studied fine art and sculpture in Volkhochschule, Germany. Ananya has exhibited her paintings all across the globe, including prestigious cities like Paris, Dusseldorf and Amsterdam. Through a combination of projects and internships, Radha has gained an in-depth understanding of multidisciplinary and collaborative approaches to design processes, addressing branding, visual identity, design history, digital technology, communication theory, sustainable graphic design, design research and creative entrepreneurship. She also holds a ‘Graduate Gemologist in diamonds and colored stones’ and ‘Accredited Jewelry Professional’ Diplomas from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), New York. Upon graduating from Parsons, Radha set up DOIT CREATIONS in 2009 as her holding umbrella company to conceptualize and promote new creative and innovative concepts. Rouble Nagi, Artist & Muralist
Born in Jammu and Kashmir to an Army officer, Rouble Nagi, who loved painting since an early age, graduated in Commerce before deciding to be a professional artist during her teenage years. An alumnus of the Slade School of Fine Art in London, Rouble is the only Indian artist who does nearly 38 different mediums and has done 800 exhibitions of her work all over the world. A great admirer of the works of Rabindranath Tagore, Amrita Sher-Gill and M.F Husain, Rouble describes herself as an abstract artist and says that her art is inspired by life itself. Apart from her art, Rouble’s prime passion is her art foundation, the Rouble Nagi Art Foundation (RNAF), which strives to help under-privileged children discover the artist in themselves. The Rouble Nagi Art Foundation (RNAF) was started to help feed a child’s creativity which can provide benefits in all areas of life- personal, professional and even spiritual as Rouble believes that children should be encouraged in thought and action. Shazia Khan is Executive Planning Director, JWT. In her career spanning brands and categories, she has closely looked at spaces through the lens of strategy. She has won several awards, the latest being IPA, Effie and Atticus for her extraordinary contribution in the realm of brand-consumer connection. She has also led an award winning piece titled "A JWT perspective on Changing India", published in Campaign Magazine in October 2011.

Hritik roshan to host a show for television 
Soon Hrithik Roshan will be seen hosting a show on television. Concept of the show is very interesting and good. Show will be inspired by destiny struggled journey of Indian achievers. Concept of the show revolves around how someone can make the impossible things possible. Few names among the stories are Sangram singh, sudha chandran, naveen gulia, shekhar naik. Best part of the show is the artiste performing the role will be the look alikes of the real achievers. Sony Music acquires the music rights to the much awaited Shah Rukh Khan film Dilwale




Sony Music, the global giant, acquires the music of the much talked about Rohit Shetty film of 2015 ‘Dilwale’. The film will reunite the iconic couple Shah Rukh Khan with actress friend Kajol after five years. They were last seen on the big screen in Karan Johar’s 2010 drama “My Name Is Khan” and the music of the same was also with Sony Music.

Confirming the news, Sanujeet Bhujabal, Marketing Director Sony Music India said, “Our relationship with India’s romantic couple begins with Kuch Kuch Hota Hai in 1998 to Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham in 2001 then My name is Khan in 2010 and now in 2015 with Dilwale, it just gets bigger! ​​ Radhika Apte turns travel guide for her friends



The young actress has always been an ardent traveler and has traveled across India and also traveled extensively in Europe.

Radhika is also currently backpacking in the Himalayas. She took some time off from her shoot to do the same.

Since she is so well versed about different places in India, the actress’ friends from Europe who are taking a trip to India have asked Radhika to guide them.

On her trip across Europe, Radhika made a lot of friends and now she is drawing up a list of places they can visit and things to do for them while they are here.

The actress who is currently in midst of shooting her Indo-British film, Bombariya, is tagged as the discovery of the year with the back to back phenomenal performances she delivered in Badlapur and Hunterrr.

Irrfan Khan dismisses rumours of Sarabjit Biopic!


The rumour mills were at it again as news spread of Irrfan Khan being approached to play Sarabajit in a biopic being directed by Omung Kumar. The actor who is currently in Budapest shooting for his next Hollywood project, Inferno was caught unaware as this news spread. While of course, this news has no truth, the actors confirms, "I haven't been approached to play Sarabjit at all. This news is definitely not true". 

43 wheelchairs were tried in Wazir before finalizing the one seen in the trailers


Amitabh Bachchan, Farhan Akhtar, Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Bejoy Nambiar- when such names are associated with a film, professionalism to the highest level is expected. This is what happened when it came to finalizing a wheel chair for Amitabh Bachchan in ‘Wazir’. Producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra had sent across 43 different types of wheelchair to Amitabh Bachchan’s residence over a span of 4 months to zero in on a wheelchair.    
 Vidhu Vinod Chopra, who is known to be a perfectionist made Sr.Bachchan try out various types of wheelchairs. In fact, he used to ask Mr. Bachchan to operate the wheelchair himself and used to watch its movements carefully to finalise the wheel chair. Initially, Amitabh Bachchan felt that it would be a normal wheel Chair and will be zeroed in quickly, but seeing Vidhu’s perseverance towards such minute detailing it took almost 4 months to fix upon a wheelchair, which had Mr.Bachchan impressed.
‘Wazir’ is an action film starring Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar. It  also has other actors like John Abraham and Neil Nitin Mukesh in pivotal roles. ‘Wazir’ is produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra and directed by Bejoy Nambiar and is slated for a December release.

Farhan applauds Anushka’s thrill for challenges




After stealing a million hearts with her moves in ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’, Anushka Sharma has found a new admirer in the industry. This time it’s none other than the versatile Farhan Akhtar, who himself has dwelled into many facets of film making. In a recent interview with a popular publication, Farhan applauded the young actress for going beyond conventional boundaries to produce a gem like NH 10 and also expressed how he’d love to direct such films in the future.
The talented actress solely produced NH10 earlier this year, what began as a challenge for the actress ended up with her not only getting appreciated for her acting skills from fans and critics but also getting recognized for her business acumen. Farhan urged the other Bollywood actresses to believe in themselves and explore beyond the obvious just like Anushka did.

Pakistani singer Atif Aslam to croon for Salman Khan


 It will be for the first time that Atif Aslam will be singing for a Salman Khan song. This will be for his upcoming film Bajrangi Bhaijaan.

The song is a romantic track and will be featuring Salman Khan and his leading lady Kareena Kapoor.

The name of the song is Tu Chahiye and the music has been given by Pritam and choreographed by Ahmed Khan.

Atif Aslam has a huge fan following and has sung for many actors in Bollywood. 

However this is for the first time he will sing for Salman Khan, who is also known to have some really popular in his films.

The trailer and the first song of the film, Selfie le le has caught on the audiences and now the release is awaited. 

Shares co-producer Amar Butala, " The song ' tu chahiye' shot on Salman and Kareena is a beautiful love song shot by Ahmed Khan extensively in old Delhi capturing the romance of the old city.  When Salman heard the scratch of the song, he suggested we record with. सूत्रों का कहना  है की "फिल्म के म्यूजिक डायरेक्टर वकार अली और  एम डी प्रोडक्शन के अधिकारी दो हफ्ते पहले अंकित से मिले उन्होंने अंकित से अपनी फिल्म में गाना गाने का प्रस्ताव रखा ये सुन कर अंकित आश्चर्यचकित रह गए, और जब उन्होंने गाने की कम्पोजीशन सुनी तो उन्हें बहुत पसंद  आई और उन्होंने दो दिन पहने ही फिल्म के लिए गाना  रिकॉर्ड किया, अंकित बहुत ही उत्सुक हैं इस गाने को ले कर"

अंकित का कहना है की " मैं तो आश्चर्यचकित रह  गया जब पाकिस्तानी फिल्म  के निर्माताओ ने मुझे इस गाने के लिए संपर्क किया मुझे तो पता ही नहीं था की मेरे गाने पाकिस्तान में भी इतने पसंद किये जा रहे हैं, और मुझे इस बात की बहुत ख़ुशी है"

Ankit Tiwari croons for Pakistani film

In just a short span of time, composer-singer Ankit Tiwari has achieved new milestones. After his successful debut US world tour, the new age singer-composer is all set to turn a new page in his successful career.

In a first of sorts, Ankit has recently sung for a Pakistani film. It’s learnt that the in-demand singer was recently approached by the makers of a Pakistani film titled Bin Roye to sing a song in their movie made under the banner, MD Production.

A source informs, “Wakar Ali, music director of Bin Roye along with people working for MD Production met Ankit two weeks back and offered him to sing for their movie. Ankit was quite surprised with the offer and liked the composition. He recorded the song two days ago and is excitedly looking forward to the response from his Pakistani fans.”

Ankit confirms, “It came as quite a surprise when Pakistani filmmakers approached me to sing for the film. I didn’t realise how popular our songs are in Pakistan. I’m really glad to know music transcends boundaries and reaches straight to the soul. I look forward to the experience.”

This year, Ankit also bagged Best Singer and Best Music Director awards by several prestigious award ceremonies including IIFA, Arab Indo Bollywood Awards (AIBA), Stardust, Screen and Global Indian Music Academy among others.

Pulkit Samrat loves Farhan Akhtar's entry in Dil Dhadakne Do

Actor Pulkit Samrat recently went to watch Dil Dhadakne Do with his entire family in Delhi again!

Pulkit, who had already watched the film, went to watch it a second time with his family as the actor has loved the film entirely. 


However, there is one particular scene in the film that Pulkit cannot stop admiring and it relates to the producer of Excel Entertiment, Farhan 

​Akhtar. ​


Pulkit feels that Farhan's entry in the film has been the best entry that he has seen on the big screen! Farhan's look and attitude adds a sheer spark on screen which comes immediately after the interval.


Infact, Farhan has received tremendous appreciation from across on his look and the entry in the film. Audiences also cannot stop talking about

same. 

Pulkit confirms the news and adds, "I saw the film again with my family and the experience was amazing! I was waiting to watch Farhan's entry in the film. He just steals the show and that too effortlessly."

आर.माधवन कर रहे टू व्हील व्हीकल पर मजा।


अभिनेता आर.माधवन हर नयी चीज़ का मजा बड़े ही चाव से लेते है। माधवन के पास कई बढ़िया बाइक्स का कलेक्शन है वे बाइक के दीवाने है और एक प्रोफेशनल गोल्फर भी है  , अब उनके शोक में एक और चीज जुड़ गयी है और यह चीज़ है टू व्हील व्हीकल।  इस व्हीकल में दो पहिये होते है इस व्हीकल पर खड़े रहकर उसे अपने वेट से बैलेंस करना होता है जब आप आगे की और झुकोगे तो यह व्हीकल आगे चलेगी। यह व्हीकल तक़रीबन १२ प्रति घंटा की रफ़्तार से चलती है और यह एक घंटे में २२ से २५ किलोमीटर जा सकती है यह एक इलेक्ट्रिक बोर्ड व्हीकल है। माधवन फ़िलहाल लन्दन में फिल्म की शूटिंग कर रहे है इस दौरान वे इस का इस्तेमाल कर रहे है। यह व्हीकल बाहरी देशो में पॉपुलर है पर भारत में लोगो को पता  नहीं है। 

​आर.माधवन कहते है " यह बहुत बढ़िया है ​साथ ही एक  एडवांस तकनीक है , इस व्हीकल से ट्रेवलिंग का बहुत समय बचता है। इस व्हीकल से बचपन जैसे बाहर आगया है।
