Specialists called to work on the trailer of Salman's next, Kick

Sajid Nadiadwala’s office has a lot of foreigners going in and out recently.

The producer, Sajid Nadiadwala, who makes his big directorial debut with Salman Khan’s Kick, has called a team of specialists to give finishing touches to Kick’s promo.

These specialists include the VFX guys as well as the Promo editors who have flown down especially to work on the trailer of Kick.

About 9 specialists have been called for it. The VFX guys are from Singapore and the promo editors are from LA.

There is a lot of anticipation for the first look and the trailer of the film. With Kick, Salman Khan comes back on Eid and Sajid Nadiadwala is sparing no expense and leaving no stone unturned for this project.

Filmistaan actors Sharib Hashmi and Inaamulhaq who are being applauded for their performance in the film have bagged praise this time from Filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Earlier Mr. Amitabh Bachchan has tweeted about their performance and the film. Mr. Vidhu Vinod Chopra was very happy with their performance and enjoyed the film. As a warm encouragement gesture he offered to sponsor a vacation for them.

Vidya will be getting into many disguises while she essays the role of a detective in the film.
As one of her disguises she in her upcoming film Bobby Jasoos, Vidya will seen as a big TV producer who everyone wants to work with. Her look and character nuances are ditto like Shobha Kapoor. Even her charcter name is Makhila Kapoor 

Vidya is very close to both Ekta and Shobha Kapoor having worked with them in Dirty picture. However, she will be seen getting into the shoes of Shobha Kapoor in one of her disguises 
Vidya tried 122 disguises before she locked the 10- 12 disguises which she will be essaying in the film.
She is seen as a beggar,  as an astrologer, a peon, a college student to name a few.
The disguises are nuanced looks which the team has put together very carefully.
They took more than 15 days to shortlist the looks and they even documented the entire process. However sourcing the looks and sketching the character nuances started much before. There was an entire team dedicated who were identifying and putting together the look.
The entire team was involved in the process as it was key to figure this bit out before the film went on floors.Once the look was shortlisted they underwent workshops for the mannerism and personality traits she would have to imbibe in the film

Deepika - Fans gift her Naina Talwar

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani released a year ago and was unanimously loved by audiences. Deepika’s essayed the character of Naina Talwar which won her accolades from all quarters.

She was seen in specs for the first time onscreen and she won many hearts with her simplicity and acting prowess

On the one year anniversary few of Deepika’s fans were keen to reach out and express how they loved her performance in the film.

They put together a Naina Talwar page on facebook. They collected pictures and penned down some dialogues and put it all together on the page of the social networking site.

Their idea was to personally present it to Deepika on the YJHD anniversary. They were actively following up with Deepika’s team as they wanted to meet her and present it themselves.

When they were informed that Deepika is not in the country… They shared the idea and sent the link of the page.

Naina Talwar is a very special character and Deepika has often on record said how the character is very close to her heart.

Into its fifth year in Mumbai, the global film festival is looking for indie short films that will represent India in the much competed final round

Mumbai, May 2014: For the many uber-talented short film-makers in India, it’s time for the proverbial knock of opportunity. Manhattan Short, the international platform which showcases, celebrates and awards short films from across the world has given a call for entries. The film movement which begins now will culminate in a six-day festival across the world including Mumbai this September-October. Championing the voice of the Short Film genre along with Manhattan Short is Vivanta by Taj, Manhattan Short 2014 in India's chief patron, which was associated with the festival in India last year as well. Vivanta by Taj has a strong bond with short films through a variety of activities.

Having had modest beginnings in 1998, the Manhattan Short has today become the most sought after platform of its kind. Dedicated to the short film genre and witnessing hundreds of entries from across the world every year, the festival has long established its global exposure.

Unlike its older, more different contemporaries a la Berlin, Cannes and Toronto festivals which have juries, the Manhattan Short is powered by the audience. This means that the audience that comes in to watch the films votes the winners. This year, Manhattan Short 2014 in India is rooting for an Indianfilm to win the global competition.

Amitabh Bachchan takes personal interest in the marketing of Yudh

Amitabh Bachchan is taking personal interest in the marketing of his debut in a fiction genre on TV, in the series titled Yudh.

The show is extremely important to him personally and so he is paying keen attention on the way the show is being marketed and otherwise.

The show which is creatively directed by filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is expected to launch in July and Amitji is ardently meeting with the core team involved in the promotions of the TV series.

He is removing time out from his chaotic schedule and having closed door meetings to get a sense of how things are shaping up.

He is also readily sharing his inputs with the team as the show is extremely special to him.

Amitji does not like to disturb his shooting schedules, so while the shooting takes a break for lunch, he does a working lunch and meets the team to check on developments. And if anything is pending, he waits back after shoot to discuss it.

He also gets Anurag Kashyap involved in these meetings now while he got into it at a much earlier stage.

Right from the promos that go on air to the edit, he is overseeing things and also taking into account opinions of people present on set.

The chief idea of having the promo of the show to be played at the IPL, which is such a high point on television, was one of the ideas that came out of these meetings.

Kill Dil

One of the song in the film Kill Dil needed 600 real cakes.

The song titled "Happy Birthday" which has been sung by Sukhwinder Singh, had a requirement of 600 cakes to be used for the shoot.

The entire crew were in Pune, Mumbai and Navi Mumbai arranging for these cakes.

Ranveer Singh, Parineeti Chopra and Ali Zafar had a delicious time shooting for it with the entire set smelling of yummy cakes.

Shraddha Kapoor’s singing debut in her upcoming film Ek Villain, ‘Galliyan Unplugged’ has earned her accolades from all quarters. The audiences audiences as well as people from the industry have all been high on praise for the young actor.

Shraddha's phone was ringing no-stop after the song released. Even her social network platforms such as Twitter as well as Facebook has been abuzz.
So much so that the song was even trending on Twitter.

Shraddha comes from a music family but has not practiced in a while. She took a chance and recorded the song. But it was turned out fantastic.

Coming from a music family, she had trained as a child. Shraddha knows the basics but has not practiced in years. She has sung the song beautifully and has surprised everyone.

Parineeti’s brother, Sahej AD for Dawat-e-Ishq


Parineeti Chopra’s brother, Sahej is an assistant director on Habib Faisal’s next film, Dawat-e-Ishq.

He has got a lot to learn working under Habib on this project starring Aditya Roy Kapur and Parineeti Chopra.

As a director, Habib is very focused and extremely creative. So, Parineeti feels that her brother Sahej got a very good opportunity to work and learn under him.

This was his first time as an assistant director and it was a very fulfilling experience for him.

Though he was Parineeti’s brother, he was just like the other assistant directors on sets.

Dawat-e-Ishq is Yash Raj Films' next project, slated to release on 5th September 2014.

One of the chief reasons why Vidya Balan attended Pankaj Kapur’s birthday party was to meet him and briefly interact with him about the character he played, Karamchand.

Karamchand was a popular Indian detective TV series. It was one of India’s first and biggest detective series.

Vidya Balan plays a detective in her upcoming next film, Bobby Jasoos.

So, when Supriya Pathak, who is also a part of the film, invited Vidya Balan and Dia Mirza for the party, Vidya quickly decided to go and meet him.

Even though Vidya was under the weather, she did not miss it.

Both Vidya and Dia went for the party and briefly interacted with Pankaj Kapur.

With Bobby Jasoos, Vidya has bagged a very interesting role as a female detective. The film is set in Hyderabad and shows her speaking Hyderabadi language with penchant

The trailer has received immense appreciation from all the quarters.

Vidya said, "My earliest memory of a detective is Karamchand...And he was probably the only one on the horizon until one got exposed to detective films later..We've even paid homage to Karamchand and Kitty in one of the dialogues in Bobby Jasoos. During the workshop, in one of the improvisations, I remember acting like Karamchand and we even laughed about the fact that Karamchand ki biwi meri ma (Supriya Pathak) bani hai .. When I met Pankaj Kapur I wanted to say Bobby Karamchand ki chhati aulad hai but I did not. Haha!"

It’s a known fact that Aditya Roy Kapur is a bike enthusiast. The actor who owns a Royal Enfield was recently doing some research on bikes.
The actor wanted a new and faster option for navigation and even visited some showrooms to get him a new bike.
The actor has zeroed on Speed Triple of Triumph, a brand new high end sports bike. The actor has been taking quality time and has been taking it on rounds.
Although Aditya has bought himself a new mean machine the actor is not going to give away the old one. He has had the bike for quite a few years now. The actor is emotionally attached to it. Have decided to keep it as a souvenir.

The story unfolds in a near future in which a hive-like alien race, called Mimics, have hit the Earth in an unrelenting assault, shredding great cities to rubble and leaving millions of human casualties in their wake.  No army in the world can match the speed, brutality or seeming prescience of the weaponized Mimic fighters or their telepathic commanders.  But now the world’s armies have joined forces for a last stand offensive against the alien horde, with no second chances. 
            Lt. Col. Bill Cage (Cruise) is an officer who has never seen a day of combat when he is unceremoniously demoted and then dropped—untrained and ill-equipped—into what amounts to little more than a suicide mission.  Cage is killed within minutes, managing to take an Alpha down with him.  But, impossibly, he awakens back at the beginning of the same hellish day, and is forced to fight and die again…and again.  Direct physical contact with the alien has thrown him into a time loop—dooming him to live out the same brutal combat over and over. 
But with each pass, Cage becomes tougher, smarter, and able to engage the Mimics with increasing skill, alongside Special Forces warrior Rita Vrataski (Blunt), who has lain waste to more Mimics than anyone on Earth.  As Cage and Rita take the fight to the aliens, each repeated battle becomes an opportunity to find the key to annihilating the alien invaders and saving the Earth.
The international cast also includes Bill Paxton (“Aliens,” HBO’s “Big Love”), Kick Gurry (Australian TV’s “Tangle”), Dragomir Mrsic (“Snabba Cash II”), Charlotte Riley (“World Without End”), Jonas Armstrong (BBC TV’s “Robin Hood”), and Franz Drameh (“Attack the Block”).
Liman is directing the film from a screenplay by Dante Harper, Christopher McQuarrie and Joby Harold, based on the acclaimed novel All You Need is Kill by Hiroshi Sakurazaka.  Erwin Stoff (“The Blind Side,” “I Am Legend”), Gregory Jacobs (“Contagion”) and Jeffrey Silver (“300”) are the producers.  The executive producers are Jason Hoffs, Tom Lassally, Doug Liman, Dave Bartis, Joby Harold, Hidemi Fukuhara, and Bruce Berman, with Kim Winther and Tim Lewis serving as co-producers.
The behind-the-scenes team includes Academy Award®-winning director of photography Dion Beebe (“Memoirs of a Geisha”), production designer Oliver Scholl (“Jumper,” “Independence Day”), editor James Herbert (“Sherlock Holmes,” “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows”), costume designer Kate Hawley (upcoming “Pacific Rim”), and Oscar®-nominated visual effects supervisor Nick Davis (“The Dark Knight”).
“Edge of Tomorrow” is the first motion picture to be shot at the recently christened Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden.
Slated to open
beginning June 6th 2014, the film will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company, and in select territories by Village Roadshow.
