The only one who is most concerned about this situation is the mother (who is ironically, a victim herself). Every mother dreams for a better life for her daughter than the one she had. And she is the only one, who can also - CHANGE THE ORDER FOREVER and make her daughter the stronger one through the power of education. All she needs to do - is to realize that every extra year of education enables her daughter to have a stronger and brighter future.

Clinic Plus launched this partnership with Plan India through an announcement in Mumbai, in the presence of the prominent mother-daughter duo Sharmila Tagore and Soha Ali Khan, who extended their support to this initiative.

On the occasion of the announcement, Smt. Sharmila Tagore, stated, “Soha and I was always associated with awareness driven initiatives for the betterment of the society. I’m very happy that Clinic Plus and Plan India have come together for this campaign for education of girl child. When you educate a girl, you educate a family, thus I sincerely hope this campaign becomes a big success.”

Smt. Soha Ali Khan, said, “My parents never made any distinction between me, my sister and my brother. My parents always treated us in the same way and supported us, especially in our education and career choices. Mother indeed plays an important role, thus I completely believe in Clinic Plus and Plan India’s campaign-   M se Maa, Maa se Mazbooti.”

The initiative aims to reach out to mothers and aid in building awareness of the importance of their daughters’ education, and also strengthening their capacity to support it, by at least one more year.  Despite rapid economic growth, the spread of micro-credit programs and self-help groups, gender disparities have remained deep and persistent in India. Given the context, Plan India and Clinic Plus have mutually agreed to bring a turnaround in the situation of school drop- out of adolescent girls by creating an enabling environment within the community and family.

In association with Plan India, Clinic Plus has launched a pilot project in Uttar Pradesh with an aim to ensure no girl child drops out of secondary education. According to Bhagyashri Dengle, Executive Director, Plan India “Fifty percentage of India’s girls do not complete their class tenth. Hence it is critical to make special efforts to ensure that all girls complete their schooling. Education not only provide them with life skill and career opportunities but research has shown that when a girl earns, she invests her income in her children’s education thus breaking the cycle of poverty and illiteracy”.

Being stellar exemplars of empowered women themselves, Sharmila Tagore and Soha Ali Khan shared moments of their lives which required Sharmilaji to stand up for her daughter Soha in making career  choice and how her support ensured Soha completed her education  and pursue her own aspirations. Amit Trivedi and Kavita Seth, the composer and singer of the new Clinic Plus anthem, were also present at the event. The duo launched a heart-warming anthem specifically composed by Amit Trivedi to support the cause that brings out the relationship between a mother and daughter.


Taking cue from the inimitable mother-daughter camaraderie, Clinic Plus also celebrates this special friendship on the occasion of Mother’s Day. Through their initiative - M Se Maa, Maa se Mazbooti”; Clinic Plus connects with daughters and facilitates them to acknowledge and appreciate their mother’s role in their life. As a part of the celebration, daughters can make Mother’s Day special for their mother by giving a missed call on 09967199671. With a call back mechanism, the daughters can leave a message for their mother. Clinic Plus will then play the daughters’ messages to the mothers on Mother’s Day.

Shraddha Kapoor takes feedback from her Grandfather

Shraddha Kapoor will be seen singing in her upcoming film Ek Villian.

On an impromptu moment her director, Mohit Suri asked her if she would like to lend her voice for a song in the film.

Shraddha who used to train with her grand dad was excited with the idea and wanted to give it a shot.

Little does any one know that Shraddha comes from a family of singers. 

Shraddha’s grand-dad Pandharinath Kolhapure, was a classical singerShraddha as a kid often used to do riyaaz with her grand dad.

The Ek Villian team shared the song with Shraddha and after practicing the song for a couple of days she went into the recording studio.

Shraddha recorded the song ‘Gaaliyan’ over two days. It is a duet song where she is singing with Ankit Tiwari.

After the recording, Shraddha was keen to make her grandfather hear the song. 

She requested the team to give her the song on a CD so she can make him hear and get his feedback.

Shraddha had not informed her grand dad prior that she would be lending her voice for a song and so he was pleasantly surprised. He took a few moments to put it together that it was his granddaughter singing.

She wanted him to hear the song sans any bias and wanted his honest feedback

Her grand dad was very proud and impressed. He told her that she got her song notes correct and has latched on to the tune in perfect sync.

He told her on how she should go back to practicing everyday and how the young actor has too much potential

Shraddha was elated and relieved with her grand dad’s reaction.

She was sure, being an artist himself he would give her honest to the craft and point out the song did not sound good.

The young actress is looking forward to the song’s release.

Brief Synopsis of the film- Mighty Raju- Rio Calling
Mighty Raju, the four year old kid with super powers travels to Rio, Brazil as his father Swamy has been given a special assignment by the government of India. Raju’s mother, Sandhya is very happy to go there but Raju is very skeptical and feels that he will miss all his friends. Mighty Raju begins to like Rio and joins a school over there, but gets bullied by Daniel at the school and gets teased that he doesn’t know about how to play football. Raju meets Maria and befriends her. He comes to know that she is the daughter of the Don of Rio- Don Pedro.
Raju begins to experience strange phenomenon and keeps losing his super powers for short durations of time. Meanwhile, his dad is trying to solve the puzzle of banks in Rio being robbed by the means of computers. Eventually, Mighty Raju learns to play football and his school team reaches the final of the inter-school tournament. In this film all his wits and powers are put to the test in a pulse-racing face-off against nasty soccer rivals, gun-toting Mafia dons and deadly Capoeira fighters, all set out to strike him down. Will Mighty Raju emerge victorious?

Sohum Shah on receiving National Award

Actor producer, Sohum Shah, bags two National Awards at the respectable award ceremony this year.

He came with a dream and succeeded in doing something as different as Ship of Theseus.

The film got immense appreciation and critical acclaim from all quarters at the time of release and now the film got the recognition of the highest level by bagging the National Award.

Even the high profile release of a documentary, Gulabi Gang was an unusual route taken by Sohum Shah and it paid off very positively for the actor producer.

It has been an exciting and fulfilling journey so far for Sohum Shah.

He strongly believed in both the films and is extremely emotional today as both his projects receive the recognition of the highest order in the film industry that they truly deserved.

Mumbai: The festival that created a furore with its vast span and a wide spectrum of never before presented cinema is back with a bang. This time, the Jagran Film Festival presents an even wider range of cinemas of the world. The 5thJagran will unveil its collection in New Delhi between 10th July, 2014 to 15 July, 2014 and in Mumbai between 23 rd September, 2014 to 28 September, 2014. Post its conclusion in Delhi, the festival will travel to 14 cities of India and present Cinema that hardly reaches these regions.
The Indian Showcase and the International Competition sections which were a rage in the last edition of the festival are back with a clutch of 20 feature films each. The Shorts film section called Jagran Shorts will present a collection of 20 international short films in New Delhi and in Mumbai.
The two unique features of this year’s edition are the inclusion of the sections, Cinema of the Sellers’, a competitive section for advertising films and a special section on the Cinema of the Uprising; with international films participating.
The festival has invited entries from short and feature film makers for films produced between 1 June 2013 and30 April 2014. The entries close on 15th May 2014.
According to Jagran official, “Jagran Film Festival is unique in the way; it seeks to connect with audiences across the country. It’s the first international film festival that reaches out to the people by visiting their cities, presenting cinema in their comfort zones, in their very own environment.”

Heropanti is the biggest release in May


Sajid Nadiadwala’s upcoming next film, Heropanti, starring Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon is the biggest film to release in the month of May.

Heropanti is the launchpad for two promising actors, Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon.

There is a lot of excitement and buzz about the film on ground and a lot of industry people as well as audiences are looking forward to the release of the film.

Apart from Heropanti, there are several other films that are slated to release in May like Hawaa Hawaai, Khwaabb, Koyelaanchal, Manjunath, Mastram, Yeh Hai Bakrapur, D Gangs Of Mumbai, The Xpose, Citylights, Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi and a few others.

However, Heropanti is the biggest and the most awaited release in the month of May. Even Kochadaiiyaan releases in May, but that is a Tamil film.

The trailer and the songs have caught on to the audiences and there seems to be a lot of positive feedback on the same.

With never seen before action and dancing, the film is slated to release on 23rd May 2014.

Chakri Toleti's next next directorial venture "Unread" with Royal Stag large short film is set to release on May 9th. Chakri Toleti is an Indian Filmmaker based in United States and  has directed Billa 2 and Eeenadu in south and was also seen in Dasavathaaram.

Unread is a silent, black and white short film, and has a present-day story starring National Award Winner Sree Ram, Roshini Walia and Tinnu Anand who plays very important role in the movie. After Kamal Hasaan’s Pushpak Vimana, Unread is Tinnu Anand second silent movie.

Music is done by Youtube Sensation Shanker Tucker & Akshaya Tucker, Story and Screenplay is by Robbie Fox, Mario Garcia and Chakri Toleti. Stefan Richter is the Stunt Director, he was brought in from Germany. The costumes have been done by Urmilla Lal Motwani, who has done films like Life of Pi, The Namesake, The Reluctant Fundamentalist and many more 

Unread is a short film yet it has been treated like a feature film. The film is to be released on the Large Short Films webpage.

Mumbai, May 5, 2014 Bypassing the record set by its predecessor, The Amazing Spider-Man 2™ posted the highest opening in history for a Hollywood film in India. Sony Pictures India announced that the film grossed approximately INR 41.7 cr (USD 6.92 m) in its four day opening weekend starting May 1st with a final tally of 1523 screens – the widest release ever for a Hollywood film. The film also  registered the highest ever opening day gross for any Hollywood title when it opened on Thursday May 1st. It released in four languages – English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu and in 3D, 2D, IMAX 3D and in Dolby Atmos where available. 

Kercy Daruwala, Managing Director - Sony Pictures India said, “The Amazing Spider-Man 2 once again consolidates Spider-Man’s position as a franchise that cannot be beaten. We are happy to say that the film garnered unprecedented buzz in the weeks before release. We have taken a mass marketing approach to this film with some unique and very local innovations, further amplified with the invaluable support of the entire Sony group. Thanks to these innovations, the film has the fourth highest opening amongst all films, including local titles, released in India this year.”

“The film’s response has been excellent with many people calling it the best Spider-Man film ever and enjoying the spectacular 3D effects. We have some very good weeks ahead of us as we continue to reap the benefits of an open release period coupled with great word-of-mouth and repeat viewing,” he added.
 
Sequels to The Amazing Spider-Man 2 have already been announced for release in 2016 and 2018.
