Martial art practitioners from 6 countries and 14 Indian states to display their exemplary skills

Mumbai, April 3, 2014: Lavasa, the planned hill city will play host to India’s largest Martial Arts fest from 18^th to 20^th April 2014. Leading Indian and international exponents of various martial art forms like Chitah Yajnesh Shetty (President of Chitah JKD Global Sports Federation & Empty Hand Combat India and instructor to over 200 Bollywood and Hollywood stars), Sifu Cosmo Zimik ((Director of  Empty Hand Warrior – Juveniles Mentor Program, USA and Coach For Olympic Games, renowned trainer of Law Enforcement agencies, Military personnel etc) will lead a team of martial art instructors from 6 countries and 14 Indian states.

Lavasa is staging the 3-day fest-cum-workshop in partnership with Chitah JKD Global Sports Federation which operates 31 centers across 22 states in India. The objective of the festival is to promote Lavasa as a sporting destination. A number of academies catering to rowing, hockey, tennis, badminton and golf are slated to open at Lavasa over the next few years.     

The core idea of the martial arts fest is to gather discerning groups (who are into martial arts and who have an aspiration to learn the art) and conduct workshops, exhibits for them at Lavasa. The fest is three dimensional with –

·         Martial Arts festivity, which will entail décor, graphical tours, walk-through, exhibition and skill showcasing for martial arts enthusiasts

·         Professional Seminars and workshops which will entail professional shows experts, program on self defense etc. like Kick boxing, Karate, Jeet Kune Do and Kalaripayattu to name a few of them

·         Children’s camp for learners

More than 125 participants have already registered to attend the fest where practitioners will showcase their skills in various martial art forms. The festival will cater to Martial art practitioners offering a platform for talent showcasing. It will also have Workshop and Seminars for the beginners and enthusiasts who are keen to know more about martial art as well as participate in brief sessions. Participants will get certification on successful completion of workshops and seminars.

‘Pritam Pyaare Aur Woh’ on SAB TV is a comic ghost hunting series based on two brothers and their comical encounters with supernatural beings.

Recently, the entire team of Pritam Pyaare Aur Woh was scheduled to shoot a sequence at a set which was made to look like a graveyard wherein both the main characters will encounter a witch. The creative team of the series dedicatedly arranged the sets which gave it a complete & realistic touch to the entire section.

Initially the shoot happened smoothly as everyone was engrossed in their characters but as time progressed and it got dark, people were genuinely finding it uneasy owing to the authenticity of the set and the premise of the story of witches and ghosts. Dara Koyla played by Rajesh Kumar sensed this discomfort among the crew members and hatched a plan to change the mood on the sets. He joined forces with Swati Verma who plays the witch in this particular track to make all the people laugh on the sets to lighten the mood.

Rajesh Kumar said, “Even though we are working in a comic series, the base plot revolves around supernatural activity. I observed that as the shooting stretched on to late hours most of the cast members and assistants on the set were visibly disturbed and serious. I spoke with Swati & together we started cracking jokes between shots and making everyone laugh so as to spread cheer among them and elevate the entire mood on the sets. The trick worked and we successfully wrapped up the shoot.”

Every episode of Taarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chasma ends with actor Shailesh Lodha aka Taarak Mehta recapping the moral highlights of the story and giving a positive message for the viewers. Since 2008 the same process has been followed but for the special Bhoothnath Returns integration episode with Mr Bachchan, it was the megastar who gave the moral monologue in the end!

TIGER breaks a stuntman's jaw

There has been a lot of buzz about Tiger and the stunt he will be seen performing in Heropanti. It will not mark his debut in the film industry but also set a statement with his stunts.

He will be seen performing a lot of daredevil stunts but there is this particular kick which is very special in the film. It will also be one of the highlight of the trailer.

The actor had gone through a special 6 month training to get this particular stunt right in every sense. The actor has very high level of strength and stamina while practicing for his action had a jaw dropping moment.

Tiger was shooting for the particular kick scene in the film. The actor was required to put a certain amount of energy to it. When he performed the kick the stuntman who was in front Tiger was hit on his jaw.

The intensity of the kick was so high that stuntman broke his jaw. The makers did not want the news to be disclosed.

Sajid made it a point to take care of all the required necessities for the welfare of the injured stuntman with providing him with every facility for his recovery.

Post the incident Tiger was resistant while performing any stunt which involved high velocity or strength. He made it a point to be extra careful while shooting the other stunt sequences.

Tiger Shroff began physical training two years before he started shooting

Tiger Shroff, who will perhaps be seen doing a lot of action sequences in his debut film, has apparently been training hard to be an action hero.

Sources close to the actor tell us that the soon-to-debut actor has been focusing a lot on his action moves. “Ever since Tiger decided to become an actor, he was sure that he wanted to be an action hero. He began working out and took lessons on ways to perform action sequences. He is also a trained gymnast, which made it easier for him,” says a source close to the actor.

We are told that all the advance physical training came in handy when Tiger began work on the film. “For almost two years before he began shooting for his debut film, Tiger had started to work on his body, and on sharpening his skills to perform action scenes,” the source adds.

Divulging details about the film, the source adds, “He will be seen performing a lot of stunts in the film. A particular fight sequence in it will be one of the highlights of the trailer as well.”

Rajkumar Hiani has been invited by the Beijing International Film Festival-2014 to be part of the jury.

The director had gained huge fame in China with his film 3 Idiots. I was the first film to do huge business and become a household name.

Rajkumar Hirani is first Bollywood personality who has been invited by the BJIFF.

The director will be sharing the jury table with some of the big names from the film industry including China's Lu Chuan, Ireland's Jim Sheridan, France's Philippe Muyl, Spanish producer Andrés Vicente Gómez and Italian actress Maria Grazia Cucinotta.

Varun Dhawan aka Govinda [be’cz see the film] a accomplished entertainer, what chi chi started 20 years back with his mentor David Dhawan with nonstop series of formula films which redefined the entertainment genre then. Varun is given the same platform and humors’ but spared with below the belt lines. Nothing seem to have been inspired for this latest comedy flick as tried and tested are in use frame to frame and the character sketches also remain the same from past.

 A street smart boy Varun Dhawan as Sreenath "Seenu" Prasad with ample quality to deal with fancy situations falls for a girl Ileana D'Cruz as Sunaina at first sight, to get her does not seem to be a easy ride as Arunoday Singh as Angad [plays a baddie police officer with a anger problem] has forcefully imposed a marriage proposal on Sunaina, therefore it’s a challenge for seenu to cross this obstacle with brain and balls.

The twist love is kidnapped with a popcorn break; surprise seenu has a secret admirer Nargis Fakhri as Ayesha who’s head over heels in love with him [a blast from a past], nonstop parody of who wins the ordeal created by angad is a razzle-dazzle with host of cast [Anupam Kher as Ayesha's Father a international goon] to support the movies second half.

With the Purani Jeans trailer receiving 1 million views, Aditya Seal has already gathered compliments from the B-Town!

What we hear is that, Aditya Seal who was recently seen in the Mountain Dew ads is a world Taekwondo Champion! Taekwondo is a Korean martial art form which involves combat and self defense techniques.

A source close from the production team says,” We were unaware that Aditya was a world taekwondo champion till we started shooting for Purani Jeans. When Tanushri (director of Purani Jeans) learned that he is a taekwondo champion we were shocked!”

And not just that, Aditya Seal has also trained NSG commandoes before he started shooting for this movie Purani Jeans!

“Aditya also trained NSG commandoes because he is so passionate about it! He also said that he has been actively participating in taekwondo since childhood,” added the source.

Well, with such a charmer entering into B-town, we are sure that Aditya Seal has paved his way into the industry!

The makers of Bollywoods ambitious detective saga Samrat & Co releasing on 25th April are indeed grateful to Nitin Desai, the famous Art Director of Bollywood films. Says Producer Kavita Barjatya, “Samrat & Co was our working title. However as we grew with the subject and the character of Samrat, we just could not see anything else fitting into the mould. We learnt that the title ‘Samrat’ was registered with Nitin dada and on requesting him he very graciously offered to give it to us.”

It is also learnt that Nitin Desai has been signed on for the Salman film to be directed by Sooraj Barjatya. So is Nitin Desai doing Kavita’s film too? Says Kavita, “Nitin dada did send a message for Samrat & Co, which I am producing under our family banner, to be directed by Kaushik Ghatak, but however we are already committed to Mr. Jayant Deshmukh for this film as we have worked together in the past too and share a wonderful rapport with him.”

Samrat means emperor… has this film got something to do with a royal touch? We also took a step forward to ask the films director Kaushik Ghatak on his choice of this different title. 

Says Kaushik, “The word Samrat speaks for itself… it brings out the grandness of the character which we intended for our hero played by Rajeev Khandelwal. Grandness in thought, grandness in attitude… Samrat is a person who chooses to do what he wants..he may refuse the case of a rich business tycoon inspite of being offered a lot of money and he would rather pick a case if it is as simple as a child’s cat getting lost!”
